Update -- Due to the extremely stressful situation I had with OK Tire and having one new tire and…read morethree used tires, I contacted both the store and head office. The store I contacted via text as per their website (because it was after hours). And the head office I contacted via email. In both cases I did not receive a response. Eventually, I received a phone call from a regional manager who wanted to know the details of what happened so he could try to fix it. I actually think he contacted me because of either this review, or the same review I wrote on Google, as opposed to the emails I sent. The regional manager visited the Hinton store to discuss the situation. They worked out two possible solutions. Solution 1 was that the store would take back the tire they sold me for a full refund, but I had to drive it out to Hinton. Solution 2 was that they would sell me 3 additional tires -- of the exact same brand, size, etc. -- for a deeply discounted price and free installation. And in this case, they would send the tires to an OK Tire in Edmonton to be installed on my car. Solution 1 would need to happen sometime soon, but Solution 2 wouldn't need to happen until the fall. The regional manager called me and told me about the solutions, and then I spoke with the store manager. It was at this point that I learned the stores didn't even know a text phone number was being provided on their websites and that the head office had set this up without informing them -- therefore, he had no idea there was a different number that I was trying to text. In the end, I'm sort of between a rock and a hard place. I can't keep the one new tire without replacing the other three. And I can't buy one new matching tire, as it won't have the same tread depth. So, I sort of need three additional tires to match the one new one. Because of this, I'm going to purchase the three additional tires from OK Tire and have them installed in Edmonton. It's the cheapest and most convenient option. But, because none of this is happening until the fall, I've only upgraded my rating to 3 stars. If everything goes well, I'll update to 5 stars in the fall.

A simple brake change for an import car resulted in 2 re-scheduled appointments and me having to get the fairly common pads and tires from Canadian Tire on my own before dropping off the vehicle to Quick Lane for installing. 5 hours later and $500 poorer, they were installed while the additional muffler issue was forgotten. They billed 4 shop hours to replace pads and rotors? The pads and rotors that I previously paid for and delivered? What a rip-off and terrible customer service. For due diligence I obtained quotes from OK Tire, Canadian Tire and Bourne Auto who all quoted 2-2.5 hours shop hours. To top it off, it is clear that they don't want my continued business. The summer tires are completely worn and in need of replacing but they couldn't care less about offering top level service. There was no brake report (fluids, line condition etc.) and no overall safety check (tire wear, psi etc.) Gone are the days when reputation and customer care mattered. I will be taking my business elsewhere and giving top level advice to friends and family to stay away from Griffith's owned businesses.

I tried to use my own tire inflator but it was dead, and it was pouring rain outside. I couldn't figure out how to use the tire inflator at the gas station so I went inside to ask for help, and both an employee and the manager came out and helped me pump up my tire in the rain, which I really appreciated! Though through my first impressions, it feels like this particular location is quite limited due to how small this place is. Comparing to the other Canadian Tires I have been to, this place is a hit-or-miss due to how cramped it is. It is literally the smallest one I have been to as they try to stock as much stuff as they could in a building half the size as a regular one. You can generally find things like tools and automotive supplies yet the selection is very sparse compared to other Canadian Tires. Here you won't find three aisles dedicated to power tools; rather it is just a small section on a shelf. For sporting goods, there's only a handful of things like hockey gloves, basketballs and netting rather than an expansive selection. As with their newer stores, this location contains a Mark's Work Wearhouse (with a decent selection of clothing) at the back of the store, which makes it harder for customers to see as opposed to the ones I have been to where it's integrated on the side with better visibility. Overall if you just want a quick place to buy a few hardware and tools at reasonable prices, this location does that. If you're searching for more variety and selection, then it's probably best to look elsewhere in town (or in the city).
