It is with sincere gratitude that I offer testimony about the life changing assistance that Justin Dillon and the Kaiser, LeGrand & Dillon team provided to my family.
In the fall of 2015, my Son was charged with violating several university rules, including assault, sexual assault and prostituting another student! It was clear, at least to me, from the beginning that the event was little more than reckless consensual contact between college freshman. The charges and the investigation were slanted, unfair and biased. There seemed to be little hope. My Son was given a two year suspension from the university at his initial "hearing". This penalty and resulting stigma would have ended my Son's full scholarship football career, which he worked so hard to earn.
As a parent, it was difficult to fathom that this level of bias existed in a college environment. My Son became depressed and disillusioned in the face of charges, which he understood were fabricated. He was learning a difficult lesson about a world, where optics are more important than the truth. I was determined to fight for justice, as I began to explore websites and support groups online. That is how I was introduced to Justin Dillon.
From the beginning Justin put my family and I at ease. He explained the process and gave honest assessments about the merits and issues with the case. After two months of crying, worrying and sleepless nights, I was finally able to relax. The outcome of the case became less important than the fight, which I knew Justin was ready to tackle. As Justin began to engage the university, the overall tone went from condescending to open and accommodating. We knew this came from the respect that Justin commanded immediately. The preparation offered by the entire team at Kaiser, LeGrand & Dillon was unbelievable. The best part for me was seeing the glimmer of hope in my Son's eyes.
The day of the final hearing was terrifying, though I was confident in Justin's approach. After of full day of emotional testimony and tension, all but two minor charges against my Son were dismissed. He was permitted to keep his scholarship and return to full athletic and academic activities at the university. Upon appeal, the penalty was further reduced. The outcome was unreal!
Justin Dillon and Scott Bernstein really stood up for my family and restored my Son's faith in justice. You cannot put a cost on that. We are forever grateful for Justin and his team. This is not only a fantastic attorney, but a better Man.
