David was a lifesaver in my case. As an out of state driver, I was facing jail time, along with a DL suspension, considering I was being charged with Reckless Driving, going 97 mph/65 mph zone. From the first interaction, until the actual hearing, he makes very clear suggestions as to what someone in such a situation should do to make a future hearing better and give some possible leverage in court. I walked away with a $250 fine, no jail time and no license suspension, despite the fact that the sitting judge was known for very harsh punishments for anyone, exceeding the speed of 90 mph. Ultimately, his price range is EXTREMELY reasonable compared to other local attorneys. For anyone who needs traffic attorney that comes with PHENOMENAL service and an outstanding price/quality ratio, don't hesitate, just give Mr. Deane a call, you won't be disappointed! read more

Mr. Deane I want to thank you for your great customer service and more importantly the results I've attained from using your legal service. Within a year, after 7 plus years of not getting a single ticket, I have had to use Mr. Deane's services twice due to speeding (blame it on COVID). Both times Mr. Deane's great results exceeded my expectations. Thank you very much! I don't know how you did it!!! I will be recommending you every opportunity that I can. read more

David Deane is a phenomenal defense lawyer. He took my case at the last minute at a reduced fee and delivered way beyond my hopes. I have dealt with lawyers that took a retainer fee and then largely ignored me. David is the polar opposite. He's extremely diligent and attentive to your concerns but also honest about the likely options. He dissected the key issues and then with my concurrence entered into constructive negotiations to obtain a terrific outcome. It helps to have a lawyer like David with 23 years of experience who knows the ins and outs of the criminal justice system. He came highly recommended from another prestigious law firm and their estimation was right on the mark. If you need top-notch defense work done in NOVA, I would highly recommend contacting David. read more

I used David Deans services twice in the last 3 months for 2 different speeding tickets. He was able to negotiate the severe penalty to a non moving violation. Very happy with results and would recommend him to everyone. read more

David has represented me in two traffic court cases, in both instances he got my charges reduced, once to a non-moving violation. He is one of the wizards that you sometimes encounter in life. Very professional steady, and dependable, I can't recommend him highly enough read more

I hired David Deane to represent me in general district court for a speeding violation. I used to work for a criminal defense lawyer so i understood what needed to happen, but David invested the time to explain everything in great detail and affirmed my existing knowledge of the process. He hosted multiple negotiations with the prosecutor, each time coming back with something a little bit better. The best part was actually his out of the box thinking to resolve my issue. I had a technicality that was causing me great heart ache due to the date of the offense. Thanks to Dave thinking on his feet, he was able to have the offense date moved four days after the actual offense thus removing me from eligibility of the underlying problem. Dave had the utmost class and professionalism and i'm sure the fact that he was a prosecutor in Fairfax for the majority of his career helped him a lot as well. Also he wears really awesome socks. David Deane was able to explain to me the whole process and was very upfront about the whole situation rather than telling me what i wanted to hear, which is important. We were able to follow guidelines he laid out for me to achieve a favorable outcome. I followed those guidelines and everything worked out to my benefit which is great. I researched multiple lawyers within this geographic area and of this practice and I would say pound for pound David Deane should be your first, second, and third choice. read more

When you require legal counsel, you need to make sure you are getting the best advice and representation that you can afford. You need an attorney that is at all times speaking for you and protecting your legal interests. That is exactly what you have in Mr David Deane. I interviewed several attorneys before I hired Mr Deane's counsel. He was not the cheapest, he certainly was not the most expensive, but he absolutely spoke with the insight and confidence that I needed going forward. Without reservation, I give him my highest recommendation. read more

David Deane helped me out a ton - I highly recommend him for any traffic violations, especially ones that could result in a misdemeanor. I got a reckless speeding ticket back in May and after reading some things online I decided that getting a lawyer was the best thing to do even though it'd be a bit costly at the beginning. David was very professional and consulted me over the phone about my options and possible outcomes which put me at ease between the phone call and the day of court (which I didn't have to be present for because he was there on my behalf). He was able to get my reckless speeding ticket (20 mph over the speed limit) down to a regular speeding ticket (only 9 mph) over. So my points went from -6 to -3 thanks to him! I was very happy about the outcome and if I ever run into trouble again (hopefully not) I will surely go to David Deane. read more

Attorney Flynn was very professional. He took his time to explain my case and how we could solve it. Thanks to him I got only community service hours and not a conviction. If I have to get a lawyer again I will come back to Mr. Flynn he cares for his clients and takes his time to make sure he can give the best representation. 5 stars read more

One word. Excellent. I called David on a Monday and he was in court representing me on that Wednesday. I had another lawyer for the case but that other lawyer was being a pain to say the least. Everything with David was smooth as butter and he was as cool as a cucumber. If you have an Arlington County case coming up, you cannot do much better than David Deane. read more

He was great. In VA it can feel like you've committed a horrendous crime when you speed. The whole process had me concerned. David simplified it for me. We discussed the matter over the phone. He met me at the courthouse. It was over in less than 1 hour. I would recommend him to anyone who needs help with these matters. read more

David Deane is fantastic! If you are in search of a criminal defense lawyer, I highly recommend David! The whole process of going to criminal court can be very daunting and confusing. In addition, the process of researching, narrowing down, and deciding on a lawyer can be tough. I'll make it easy for you -- call David Deane -- he is excellent at his job! I faced a Class 1 Misdemeanor charge that David was able to help get dismissed in Arlington County. Close to a year later, David helped me to expunge the charge from my records! David impressed me throughout the entire process, from the first conversation to the very end. He is very smart, possesses a confident court presence, and just gets the job done! Keep up the great work and thank you for your help, David! read more

Cons: Ineffective legal counsel. His lack of negotiating power with a new prosecutor left me with a stiff penalty for a first offense case. Was busy surfing Facebook during my trial - not professional courtroom demeanor. I'm unclear what my fee got me, other than a high priced professional to explain the legal process for me, which is something I could have done myself. Pros: Nice guy. Takes time to walk through case. Flexible hours/availability. read more

He was able to reduce a reckless speeding ticket down to a improper driving with relative ease. He explained to me in detail what was possible and not. I don't think I would have been able to get the same results without hiring him. I highly recommend him to anyone. He is easily one the best attorney I have met and probably one of the best in DMV. Again, thank you David! read more

I had an accident in July. It was one of those where the officer says, "Well, this wasn't really your fault, but I have to cite you anyway." So, I called David. He was fantastic--he got all the details of my case and talked about where he thought things might go. He was with me both days I needed to be in court and worked with the prosecutor to bring my ticket down to paying a fine for an infraction that doesn't appear on a DMV report. If I had it to do all over again, I'd call him a second time. read more

David was great. He was straight forward, gave me a fair assessment of my driving record situation and Arlington's position. He advised me correctly based on the best options I was offered. I most appreciated that he was communicative and did not keep me in the dark as most attorney's have done. In the unfortunate circumstance that I need another traffic attorney, I will definitely hire David again. read more

I hired David after I fired my other lawyer for a legal matter in Arlington County. I must say that I am very pleased and impressed with his knowledge of the system, his ability to communicate clearly, effectively, and patiently and does go to bat. While the outcome was not what I wanted it to be, David fought his hardest and laid out all the options which would be at the forefront of trying to resolve the case. He explained meticulously and thoroughly how each scenario would be played out, reached out to his network and ultimately convinced me of what my options were and how I was to accept them and work with them. In terms of payment, he worked with me as well. Very patient and very understanding, he accepted the payment terms that I set forth and would not be pushy to get his money immediately and then "forgot about me"... rather he continued to stay informed with me and get me information and finally settled on a price much less than I expected since the outcome was the one. I would recommend him very much and I would suggest you hire him for any case coming up, especially in the Northern Virginia area. In my opinion, he deserves to be the Commonwealth's Attorney in Arlington VA since he understands the needs and challenges facing the county and he understands the people he helps. I would recommend him for sure without hesitation. Thank you David. read more
