After checking the vitals they moved me into a room and I had an EKG in under 5 minutes. Then they moved me to a room in intensive care where they began a battery of tests to find out why my heart was going so crazy it had slowed down to about 150 beats per minute but it was wearing itself out. About 10 minutes past from the time I walked into the building until they were giving me oral and intervenious medication to slow my heart down. Then they kept checking to see other things to make sure that I wasn't going to have a clot that could give me a stroke. And was able to get my heart under control in a short amount of time. Within a few hours I was released from the ER with new medication and a chance at life again. I want to thank all the staff there especially the head nurse. Everyone took such great pride in what they were doing. And of course we've got to think my cardiologist Rockstar that he is! If you were having heart problems and you needed a place to go I wouldn't hesitate to go to downtown Kaiser they got you covered.

I get them about every 2 or 3 years. TAN NHAT PHAM prescribed me an antibiotic and after 3 days my infection was still getting worse , so I called, emailed and called again he told me "just keep using it and it will work". When I have these infection usually the antibiotics work in hours or a day. So, I paid out of pocket $400 to have DNA test done on my nasal mucus (snot) and within 2 days it came back with the results and it said that the infection was antibiotic resistant to one antibiotic and it was the antibiotic he prescribed. I sent a copy of the results via email to TAN NHAT PHAM and he told the antibiotic will work and that he read my test from the DNA lab 10 days later I was in the Kaiser ER in Walnut creek where I waited 17 hours watching a baby sitting on a father's lap dying, who had been in ER for 19 hours. I made more calls to Kaiser from the ER trying to get an appointment with another doctor but Kaiser would only refer me to back to the same bad doctor. So I called him and begged for a new antibiotic and Phan told me that "he didn't read page two of the DNA test" that I paid for and agreed to change my antibiotic. The testing company gave a list of about 25 antibiotics that will work. He changed it and 1 day later my infection was gone. So, for 12 days I had snot dripping out of the eyes and ears because he didn't read page 2 on the test. Kaiser refused to pay for my test and no apology from anyone and I got to see a baby die in ER at Walnut Creek Kaiser ER One of the worst doctors in the U.S.

My wife was recently treated for kidney stone at John Muir Health in Walnut Creek and Concord. I…read morewould like to describe the outstanding care she received at both locations. Recently, on a Sunday evening, after our daily walk, she complained of unbearable pain in her lower left back. We called the Moraga-Orinda paramedics and they showed up in 3 minutes! She was given pain killers and rushed to John Muir Hospital in Walnut Creek, the closest location for us. At John Muir Emergency Department, she was attended to immediately. The physician, Dr. Kessler, after examining her, immediately opined that it looks like kidney stone! He ordered a CT Scan and a medium to large size kidney stone was confirmed. Dr. Kessler prescribed pain killer, necessary medication and admitted her since the pain was unbearable for her to handle at home. Krystal and Kamala was the first nurse-team we had. They were both excellent, caring and compassionately attended to my wife as often as needed even during the night. After seeing the excruciating pain, they arranged an urologist consulting and a decision was made to do a Ureteroscopy and blast the stone into small fragments/dust. Since this procedure was done only at the Concord location of John Muir, my wife was transported by an excellent ambulance team to Concord location. In Concord, she was given excellent care by RN Mary and RN Emmeline - they were really amazing! My wife needed help often, and the nurses never ever complained (even at night) and helped my wife with a cheerful smile every time! The next two days, she was given outstanding care by Dr. Khan and the nursing team of Sarah and Benjamin. Sarah is very knowledgeable, competent, very compassionate, cheerful and friendly. She followed the protocol strictly for every care-activity and her attention to detail was amazing. For example, she had to check my wife's blood glucose regularly. Every time, Sarah would poke the finger, remove the first drop of blood the comes out with a gauze (since the first drop was in contact with the needle), press the finger to get the next drop and use it to test blood glucose! And, Sarah was training a student nurse and she was painstakingly describing every step of every procedure in great detail to the student while taking excellent care of my wife. The urologist, Dr. Chang, was very friendly, and explained to wife the details of the procedure. His attention to detail was also amazing. Since the kidney stone was in the lest ureter, he used a marker on my wife left leg to highlight that it is the left ureter! The Nurse practitioner from his office, Vivian, scheduled the surgery and communicated with us daily. She showed real concern and empathy for my wife's ordeal. The procedure was successful and the excruciating pain stopped almost immediately afterwards. Dr. Chang had written a detailed description of every step of the procedure in my wife's My Chart - it was comforting to read the detailed report. She was discharged the next day. The care my wife received from the Doctors and Nurses at John Muir Hospital in Walnut Creek and Concord was consistently excellent - the quick/initial diagnosis at ER, confirmation through CT Scan, excellent execution of the procedure by the Urologist and the awesome care she received from the Nursing Team after the procedure - all outstanding! We have lived in Contra Costa County for over thirty years and have had treatments at John Muir Hospital a few times and we experienced excellence every time! We highly recommend John Muir Hospitals and their outstanding team of Physicians and Nurses.

What a great experience from start to finish (minus needing surgery, but you know what I mean). Everyone from the pre-op nurse who calmed my anxiety (whose name is escaping me), to Doctors Harris, Ochalek and Singh (and the rest of their surgery team) were amazing. The last thing I remember was having a nice conversation with Dr. Singh about the niners before gently waking up after surgery. They all really made the surgery as comfortable as it could possibly be. My post op experience was second to none. I had a wonderful recovery nurse who told me all about her kids (if anyone can verify her name, I'd appreciate it!) and then was moved up to a private room where Katie took over my care. She was the absolute best nurse I've ever had. She was attentive, kind and went out of her way to get anything I (or my partner) needed. She transferred care to our night nurse (who was great, but I was asleep most of the night), but promised to come check on us the next day when she got back into work. We really felt cared for and comfortable with Katie and thank her for the level of care she provided. If there's a way to recommend nurses, she'd be at the top of the list! Diane was our nurse the next morning, and she was awesome. We got super lucky with her because even though it was crazy busy that morning, she went out of her way to make sure we always had everything we needed. She was kind, attentive and we could tell she was running around trying to take care of 10 people at once (and doing a great job at it). We talked everything from travel to traffic and you definitely made the morning after surgery much more bearable. All in all, about the best experience I could have asked for. For the nurses whose name's I have forgotten, I'm sorry! I was out of it for a while with anesthesia, meds, etc. and there were a lot of you helping. You were all great and very much appreciated. If I ever need to go back into surgery, I'm definitely coming back here. Thanks again. Kevin and Monica

To the Amazing Family Birthing Team at SRRMC,…read more I recently gave birth to my baby boy nine days ago, and I wanted to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude for the incredible care I received during my stay. I was induced and, I was scared and nervous. But from the very beginning, I felt at ease knowing I was in such capable and compassionate hands. My labor lasted 18 hours and had its fair share of ups and downs, but the nursing staff truly carried me through it. Farah, my first nurse during the day shift, and Kim, my night nurse, were both remarkable. They kept me informed, encouraged me when I felt weak, and made me feel genuinely cared for. Later that night, when things began moving quickly, Kim called in Nurse Lisa to assist her even though Lisa wasn't assigned to me. Watching how they worked together with such teamwork and kindness was something I'll never forget. Both of these women went above and beyond their duties, and I will forever be thankful for them. I also have to recognize my OB-GYN, Dr. Shammout, who was truly my biggest cheerleader in the delivery room. His calm confidence, compassion, and support gave me the strength I needed to get through. SRRMC is lucky to have such an exceptional doctor, and I will recommend him to anyone seeking a provider who genuinely cares for his patients. After delivery, I was cared for by more amazing nurses Tori, Ashley, Haley, Cassie, and the supervisor Shannon. Each of them treated me with such kindness and warmth. They made sure I was comfortable, checked on me regularly, and celebrated every little milestone with me. It honestly felt like being surrounded by family. When my baby's blood sugar levels came back low, everyone worked together to make sure he received the best care possible. They reassured me, explained each step with patience, and did everything they could to help stabilize him. What touched me the most was how they all communicated between shifts to stay updated on his progress. That level of dedication and care meant the world to me. Leaving the hospital was bittersweet. I was excited to bring my baby home but sad to say goodbye to the wonderful team that supported me through one of the most important moments of my life. Every nurse, doctor, and staff member I encountered showed true compassion and professionalism. From the bottom of my heart, thank you all for your kindness, care, and support. You made what could have been a stressful and frightening experience into one filled with comfort, love, and strength. I will never forget how you made me feel. Much love Jackie & Baby Elijah
