This restaurant have great decor and ambience. The dining tables are made of nara wood. Lots of plants around the banquet hall. The food was great, the servers were nice, the food was fresh. It's clean and the atmosphere is beautiful with a rainforest ambiance. We ordered the seafood bilao which consisted of garlic shrimp, daing na bangus, baked mussels, liempo and pickled kangkong. We incidentally discovered Kainan sa Dalampsigan through a road signage along the Nasugbu Main Hi-way (JP Laurel). It isn't really located within the shoreline but accessible via R. Martinez St, the road leading to the stretch of Nasugbu beaches. We just followed the directions posted on the road. We arrived past lunch time at around 1pm. Staff exudes the natural Batangeño hospitable charm. We are swiftly accomodated. It's a heritage restaurant that serves authentic Filipino dishes. We ordered Bilao - great mix of garlic shrimp, baked tahong, liempo, quarter bangus priced at Php990. It's relatively value for money and good for the entire family of 3-4. Our other food orders include Ginataang Hipon, Pinakbet Lumpiang Shanghai. Serving is generous and we only paid a sum of Php2000 inclusive of rice and drinks. We were so full and passed on the sweets but the dessert selection looks promising as well. Kainan sa Dalampasigan instantly became a restaurant I swear by. Hidden inside the town of Dalampasigan lies a gem of a 'kainan' or eatery. It was a quaint, beautiful and welcoming place, able to make any potential patron awe in delight. It is truly a wonderful place. Whilst we were sitting in a 'bahay kubo' or a hut in the Philippines with stomachs grumbling from being famished after a long trip from Metro Manila to Nasugbu Batangas, we flailed our arms at the nearest resort employee. He looked at us curiously, as if he'd seen something odd -- he did -- and proceeded to walk towards us. He kindly greeted us with a smile and asked us how he could be of assistance. It was perfect, we were in dire need of his assistance. "Where is the best place to eat around here?" my Mom asked him. Without hesitation his face lit up. "Try ninyo sa Kainan Sa Dalampasigan" which roughly translates to, "Try a place called Kainan Sa Dalampasigan". Awesome. We gave him a nod and off we went. Arriving at the place we were caught off guard by its ambiance. There were lush vegetation around the restaurant and it was softly lit by little lamps. We were in awe. How could a place like this exist in a town that was a little bit shanty? We didn't care. We parked the car at the back and rushed into this restaurant. We were dying for food. Having sat at the table, we were greeted with even more beautiful ambiance. Everything was 'soft', where the glow of the lights lit up the entire restaurant, welcoming you and caressing every one of your senses. The smell of food was divine, able to make any humans' mouth water with anticipation. The cool breeze enveloped your entire being, enticing you to relax and enjoy the moment. And the people welcomed you with such warmth that you'd be tempted to order the entire menu. Our order arriving at the table marked a significant moment. By this point all of us was excessively drooling for food. This place did not disappoint. Everything we ordered was prepared beautifully. The soups, the meats, everything, was beautifully done and it didn't break our bank. By the end of the meal we were all sitting back, happy and content that we had made one of the best food decisions of our trip and we would keep this place in our list of places to visit whenever we were around the area. Kainan Sa Dalampasigan is a beautiful restaurant that every traveler should visit. Its ambiance, staff and most importantly food is handled with so much care and love that it shows their passion to deliver a wonderful dining experience.
