It was my very first visit in January, and she was so sweet... she took the time to consult with me to see what kind of lashes I wanted... and by the end of the appointment, I was looking glamorous! So...no one wants to share their utmost beauty secret, Aileen's Lash Extensions, therefore I will. Despite being booked weeks ahead, I am surprised to find out that Aileen only has less than a dozen yelp reviews - something I totally understand, I wouldn't want everyone to know how I can have such amazing lashes, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, after swimming, after showering - my lashes have withstand it all. First of all, the lashes - boy, did those lashes feel real, they were light, soft - and seriously felt like my own! When friends ask me about my lashes, I would tell them it's my real lash, then telling them to touch my lash, and when they do, they say, "Oh my god! Those ARE your real lashes!" Of course then I tell them the truth, and everyone pulls out their iPhone and searches for Aileen on yelp. Also, Aileen uses different lengths of lashes on different parts of your eye, longer on the outside, shorter on the inside - to really mimic what real lashes would look like on a person. Second, the price - CHEAP. Read my other review on "Lash Bar" in Burlingame, CA(who charges $250/each time, regardless if you have any lashes left). Aileen counts how many lashes you still have from last time you went in, then charges you PER additional lash she puts on your eye. I have never, ever met anyone who would do that. And the best part, I've paid $150 tops for a full set at Aileen's - since I like it simple and natural looking. You can't even get that with a Groupon Deal(which by the way, don't use them - seriously, save on other things, but it's your lashes, do you really want some amateur to ruin them?) Third, the service - Aileen is genuine, truly, truly genuine. She listens, she gets it - she laughs with you, she shares cute stories about Handsome and Pretty(her two super cute Maltipoo), and she cares about you. I've probably been to Aileen nearly a dozen times now, and she would still remember things I've told her months ago. With a busy schedule like hers, it means alot to me to have someone like Aileen, who cares enough to remember these intricate details about their clients. Fourth, the waxing - have you had sugaring? If not, it's time to make you a convert. My brazilian lasted 2 and 1/2 months, and zero in-grown hair. Amazing. It's called "the Keiki", which means the "Kid" - how creative! I have incredibly sensitive skin...prone to ingrown hairs, and breakouts...all kinds of yucky stuff. So I was weary about getting a Brazilian done because the LAST place I'd want any of that to occur was down there. I did some reading up on different waxing methods and found Sugaring. Supposedly, it's a lot gentler on the skin and you are less prone to break out or get ingrown hairs. There are a lot of places in San Diego that offer sugaring, so it was just a matter of which place to pick. Made several appointments at various places...but none of them really had availability that I was looking for...until I came across the site for Kailani Blue. I decided this must be fate because she has an appointment on a SUNDAY...this is perefect! This was my FIRST Brazilian...never even had a bikini wax done...and Aileen made it so NOT awkward. We were chatting it up the entire time...laughing and having good conversation. There were a couple of times where I had to take a breath because OUCH! But her method definitely seemed a lot better than regular waxing methods even sound. I decided to wait about a week before writing a review because I wanted to see how my skin reacted to the wax...and WOW. Baby smooth...no ingrown hairs...no irritation...not even the day of, when i went to a superbowl party immediately after. I am definitely impressed. If it doesn't irritate MY skin, then that's a miracle. I don't even want to try any other places or any other methods because I just don't even want to risk it. I found something that's PERFECT for me, and I'm going to stick with it. In fact, I'm going to make my follow up appointment online right now! Aileen is AMAZING! I go for the advanced sugaring and get "The Keiki". She makes ya feel like you've known her forever and no awkward silence through the process. I read some reviews of the regular waxing and hear of bruising and ripped hair but sugaring is completely different. Hairs are removed in the direction of growth so I think that reduces the pain and it grows out MUCH thinner. I would recommend her to anyone that is into waxing to give her a try. Yes gals, my lashes are naturally this long & this beauuuutiful. Not. But you probably wouldn't have noticed. I trust not just anybody when it comes to my eyelashes, so finding someone this amazing takes a lot of time. It's a shame that Kailani doesn't have more reviews, because ITS WORTH IT. Worth my drive in the rain to LIttle Italy. Worth the traffic on the way there, and extremely worth my month & a half of not getting my eyelashes done because now I have a brand new beautiful set of natural and light eyelashes! So like, I was going to another eyelash boutique, which I loved at first, but then ended up having my eyelashes fall out from being stuck together. I originally was going to go in for just a fill, but since its been so long since my last fill, I opted for a brand new set. The lashes she uses are much softer and lighter than the ones I had before, and Aileen told me why a lot of mine ended up falling out before. They were too heavy & the curl didn't match my natural eye lash, so it didn't stay on very long. She has a room in Summers Salon on India Street. Her prices are very reasonable compared to the rest of the places I've found on yelp, and her work is amazing. I give Kailani a 3.5 star on her work but a 5 on her bed side manners! If you want natural lashes this is where you go, unfortunately the lashes on my right eye right side didn't really last. By almost a week- half on my right side has already fallen off but the left is still on? I may have to go back and do the volume size next time to have a better result- I did classics this time. She was able to get me in right away and that was what going beyond what I expected. read more

The 1st time I went to Aileen she did a great job on my eyelashes. The second time I'd gone for a fill several had fallen out the same day leaving little gaps. As if they'd been barely laid on top of one another. After spending $150+ for a fill and nearly $500 for the initial you'd think she'd fit me in at some point within the next couple of days to correct the lashes that had fallen out. I've gone several times to see Aileen to get lash extensions and she is awesome. I got married last month and even my make-up artist (who does tons of weddings) said that they were the best extensions that she has seen. I have virtually NO lashes and I get compliments all the time on how pretty they look. I was a little apprehensive the first time at went because I thought they would look fake but they don't at all; I now look like I'm blessed with long, thick, dark lashes. They appointment takes about an hour an a half, its actually kinda relaxing. I also like the way that she charges per lash for touch ups.
