I tried their chicken katsu curry, the Cenerton roll, Mango tango roll, Monster roll, ticket to heaven, and the crunchy rice with tuna app. LOVED all of them minus the mango tango. Presentation was 10/10, taste matched how good it looked. They do not have fountain drinks they are canned (which I personally prefer) so not sure if there's free refills. Kind of glad I wasn't introduced to Kage sushi until the very end of my year in NWA, or else my bank account would have looked extra abysmal. Coming from California, I had low expectations for raw fish-based sushi in Arkansas, but when I got the occasional itch for sushi, I'd grab a good old American-style roll that is less fish than tempura flakes and sriracha mayo. It's not quite sushi, but it's still good. Hey, I'm not a total snob. I came to Kage with friends on a Saturday at 6 PM. The space is quite ample and could probably fit 80 people or so. It was surprisingly quiet, but a friend, who is a regular, says that the usual dinner rush happens a little later. The menu is expansive; they have a mix of American-style rolls, hand rolls, nigiri, sashimi, and hot dishes like udon and teriyaki. After a bout of decision paralysis, I ordered the sushi and sashimi combo. It came with 9 pieces of sashimi, 6 pieces of nigiri, and a spicy tuna roll. No mayo, no eel sauce, no tempura flakes. The service and presentation of the food were stunning, and I was really impressed by the quality of the fish and the price. I got a little bit of everything: salmon, tuna, yellowtail, shrimp, and other fish I do not know the names of (they were good though). I was stuffed at the very end and was honestly blown away by the reasonable price (all of it was under $30). Admittedly, the fish was not the ~*best*~ I've ever had, but it was fantastic for Arkansas (no shade to the state, but you are much farther away from the ocean than Los Angeles). My party also ordered dishes for the table, like shrimp tempura, veggie tempura, karaage, and takoyaki. They even threw in a complimentary crispy rice dish, which was a thoughtful touch. All of them were decent--pretty standard appetizers for a Japanese American place, though the shrimp tempura was more like a shrimp nugget (I believe it was chopped shrimp shaped into a log and fried). It wasn't bad, but not what I expected. That aside, I will definitely be coming back one more time before I leave NWA! read more

Had a fantastic Christmas Eve lunch here the other day. For starters, we ordered the tempura appetizer.....the tempura was light and crispy, and some of the better tempura I have ever had. My wife loves sushi, so she tried the sashimi plate. I am personally not a fish eater, so I opted for the Japanese Curry. The fish in the sashimi was fresh and prepared to order, and my wife was utterly pleased. My curry was not as spicy as I would have liked, but nevertheless was a good meal, and reminded me of my time in Okinawa. Wow! Our favorite new sushi, place and conveniently located near our house. Alyssa (and the sushi gang) always greets us with a smile and Hello! The food is prepared fresh and is delicious. This was my first time trying Kage Sushi and I ordered online on a friday night. Ordering online was easy but you can't pay online you have to pay when you pick it up. I wasn't sure if my order went through so I had to call and the lady I spoke with was very nice and helpful. The wait for everything was only 30 minutes. The restaurant was very clean inside and they packaged everything well! It wasn't busy inside at all so I definitely wish I would have just eaten in because there was no wait time for tables. I ordered the Spicy Edamame and that was delicious, a bit of spice and a nice garlic flavor. The simple rolls turned out to be my favorite with the Alaska & Mexican being my top two. I did order the "hot mom" as well and that was good but lacked texture for me so I probably won't get it again. All in all though, everything was delicious and easy!! I'm so happy we found this place--it's absolutely going to be a regular spot for us. Everything we ordered was so fresh and flavorful. You can really taste the quality of the fish--it practically melts in your mouth. I have a sesame allergy, which usually makes sushi night a little complicated, but the staff here was incredibly kind and accommodating. They double-checked everything, made sure there was no cross-contamination, and even made me a special spicy mayo without sesame oil. Huge win! This place should be packed but it's not. Clean bright with great food and great service. Sushi is delicious fresh and artfully presented. For anyone in your party not into Sushi they also have Teriyaki and Tempura. The teriyaki chicken is crispy and not drenched in sauce. One of my pet peeves at a restaurant is ordering sugar for tea or coffee and no spoon is provided. Here the spoon came on a napkin without asking for it. They serve wine sake and beer. It was good, but there is not description of it on the menu. We asked the waitress what was in it, and we were only told about half of the ingredients. When we got them, only 6 pieces each. They tasted relatively good but not spectacular. $50 for two people. More expensive, less food and slower service than their competitors in the area.
