So I'm Swedish and this is my moment to talk shit about Sweden. The interesting thing about…read moreStockholm is that it's the home of the best of best that Sweden has to offer (or so it thinks). It is after all the Capital of Scandinavia. What can I say about it though? Years of living there and being evolved into the culture left me still thinking that people ate up the hype so much that they were lazy half asses who didn't really live up to half of their acclaim. There's maybe two places that really make a proper drink in Stockholm. Very few places have great service. The standard approach of anyone working at a restaurant is that it's a temporary thing or it's that they have never experienced amazing service. East is an amazing example of how it goes... They have the makings of a good place. It's nice inside, it's got a good alcohol selection, the sushi isn't amazing but it's good. The drink I wanted was made with ginger ale and not ginger beer, big diff to those who don't know. The service left me wondering if they had a bad hangover. Rough night? Will I be here again? Likely. Will I be looking forward to it? Not really.

We started out with the calamari, which came with a great garlicky hummus. The pork souvlaki I ordered wasn't the best I have ever had, but my boyfriend's swordfish was really really mouthwatering. I would definitely say to stick with the seafood. The ambiance of this restaurant is quite romantic, and the services is great. I don't think there's an english menu though. They have a great wine selection and the servers will be completely honest with you. We had asked for a greek wine, but the server said we should stick with italian. It's definitely one of the many great hip restaurants in the neighbourhood!
