Not only that though, I also found that this place really did feel like one of those inner city cafes that I particularly like. Lunch menu starts at 12pm and they serve both menus until 3pm. We were greeted warmly on both visits, with prompt table service and a friendly, relaxed attitude from staff. The menu is very good, quite creative, but with all the usual favourites. The smoothies and coffee are excellent, the best we have found near Mt Macedon. Today I chose the Big Breaky Burger. I find it hard not to give these a try everywhere. I noted on the menu some additional ingredients that you won't typically see. This burger was clearly of a higher class. When it arrived (which was surprisingly quick, I guess they are quiet today, but awesome) the presentation was pretty eye catching. I blurted our something stupid and incomprehensible to the waitress. What I meant to say was "that looks awesome" and "thank you". Let's cut to the juice. The coffee is great, smooth with no bitterness! The bacon is delicious, maybe a light smokey flavour and crisped to perfection. The burger is made on a fluffy brioche bun as it should be. The avocado was generous and had a slight lemon flavour like they cared for it delicately begins the scenes. I love this place after one visit! I'll be back, and I'll bring other people. Not so many options that you feel overwhelmed by the menu but still plenty to choose from. Both of us were very happy with how our eggs were done, & we shared a sourdough toasty, yummy all round. I enjoyed my coffee & although my husband grumbled about the "girly" cup his tea was served in, I thought the mixed cup & saucer (local op shop finds I guess) served on a pretty little tray were a nice touch! Quaint cute little cafe tucked away just enough off the busy main street to offer a relaxed and comfortable cafe opportunity outside the city. Food and coffee were both wonderful, and anyone in the area or passing through would be well advised to stop by. I'm really glad I did.
