With the assistance of a staff member I came up with my own design. I received an estimate of $600 at the most. The design was sent away to have the mock ring created. Nov 20th I was called and told the mould was back for my approval. I rushed right in so excited to see how it was going to look. It did not disappoint and gave my approval right away. Excited about having the finished product on my finger I called at the end of January wondering how far it was from being finished. I was advised it wouldn't be much longer the jeweler just needed to set the stones. Super stoked!! End of Feb comes and I call again because I haven't heard anything. They tell me the exact same thing, the jeweler has it and is just setting the stones. I'm frustrated and advise them this is what I was told in January and they had the approval to be created back in November. I was advised it should be completed in a couple of days and they would call me. Feb 28th I receive a phone call, the mucky anticipated creation was finally completed and ready to be picked up. I rush to the store, an hour drive from my house, butterflies in my tummy. I can't believe it is finally completed and I get to wear the creation I had made especially for me. I was not disappointed. In fact the opposite. I couldn't believe I had created such a gem. I knew I was going to be proud to wear it and show it off. I asked what the remaining balance was and was told $338. I just about fell over. What happened to the $600 estimate? I had already put down $500 and was fully prepared to pay another $150 - $200. Why would it be anymore then that? I'm sure they would have contacted me if it was going to be above the estimate. Perhaps, I have my head in the sand. This isn't the first ring I have had them create from my own design. Again, I had provided my own gemstones and I'm almost positive they called me to advise me the cost was going to be $200 above the estimate and did I want to continue on with the creation? So you can imagine my surprise to see that there was $338 left owing. I kept saying are you sure? They went through the details and said there needed to be an additional 2oz of gold to finish the creation. It wasn't that I didn't have the money it was the principle of it. They tell me the amount owing after I have this awesome ring on my finger!! I'm still shocked at the difference between the estimate and the actual final price. I recently brought some gold into a shop for the first time, not even knowing if it was real. I had…read morenever sold gold before, so I knew nothing about the process. When I arrived, Robin was there with her three little dogs! She was the only one working and was helping another customer, so she asked me to wait, giving me time to browse. The shop had really unique pieces at fair prices. If I had been shopping, I would have definitely bought something just to invest. (She also mentioned they make custom pieces.) Robin evaluated the gold, and I told her I didn't know much about it. I was skeptical about selling it and was prepared to be lowballed, but she literally offered me three times the amount I expected! Some pieces I didn't even realize were real gold. Robin knew I wasn't experienced with gold prices, but I could tell she was honest and straightforward. She's a beautiful lady, inside and out. Hopefully, I'll see her again soon. I love supporting small businesses, and when it comes to "we buy gold" places, you automatically think of shady business people--but that was not the case here. Robin was very professional and made my experience wonderful. Also, while I was waiting for the estimate, I had time to sit down and search the reviews. I was stunned to see that she even had one bad review! I'm glad I took the chance to come in because it would have been unfortunate to miss meeting such a wonderful lady. I had no idea if it was a diamond or not and I didn't say that it was. She took her jeweler's tool, took a good look and declared it to be an xyz carat diamond. "That'll be $$ to replace." Great. I go on my way. I get a call the next day from her "you told us these were diamonds so we treated them as such, they're cubic zirconia's and have crushed under the heat and pressure. Call me" Umm what?! You're the expert! Why are you blaming your customer after YOU gave the estimate of a diamond. Very unprofessional. She then tries to get me to swap them all out for diamonds. Nope. Also not ok. I also sold them old gold to pay. Shocker- not great pricing. Go to an official "buyer" of gold to today's best price for your gold. I have no idea if I paid too much. Lessons learned- get a few quotes. Workmanship here is good but customer service is NOT. Should have gone with my spidey senses on this one when she quoted me $20 to change a watch battery. Wha?!!! I won't recommend this place. Too many other talented jewelers in this city that do treat their customers professionally.

She removed all items from the window displays that I pointed out as being so admired on my stop-by walks. And placed them on the service counter for me to really see, feel, and "experience". Yeah, I finally got to see them up close and personal, and 'wow', sure liked what I saw., and learned about them. We were all touching things but the rest of us, including other customers were never approached. My friend was going to buy her 10 year old some of the jewelry so she was trying to find ring and her daughter was told not to touch them because it drives the sales lady crazy. Her daughter was being respectful in how she was handling things and was with adults. She was sooo rude, so much so that we left. We will not be returning to this store.
