Delicious pies, breads, and cookies!…read more *The cakes are hands down a family favorite* Also, they serve lunch! Great chicken salad on a croissant. Also, yummy tuna and egg salad. There are a few small tables if you want to eat there. Just note, no bathrooms.

I was in the area and this place caught my eye because of its cute, full of character exterior. I got in there about 30 minutes before closing so they were pretty cleared out of stuff and they mentioned how they stop serving lunch/sandwhiches 30 minutes before closing so just a heads up on that. The service was great and the two ladies behind the counter were friendly and helpful. It appeared that some of their refrigerated items may be bought for sale and not baked in house but all their baked goods in that case were made by them and had a large selection of baked goods from breads, biscotti, bars, tarts, cakes, and more. it also looks like they offer made to order/custom cakes so that is pretty cool! Although not pictured, we tried several macarons and they had a subtle flavor, nothing overpowering which was nice. We also tried their mini tarts in lemon and cherry, as well as their apple crumble in phyllo dough. This was interesting and I have never seen it wrapped in phyllo dough. We also tried the carrot cake which after unpacking it, I do not believe it was made in house as it was part of the other refrigerated goods. Everything was light and pretty tasty. I would give this place a try if you are in the area as it has a lot of charm and variety of goods so I am sure you can find something you will enjoy!

Outside of the bar, there wasn't an open seat in the joint. Was promptly served a Diet Pepsi and ordered the chicken Parmesan. The waitress was very friendly, fast and attentive. The chicken parm was a perfect size for lunch, and the whole meal was a bargain at $15. The chicken itself was very good, nice and crispy, though not overly cheesy or saucy. The side of spaghetti complemented it well, but the red sauce was more of a tomato topping than a spaghetti sauce. I'm not sure a side of sauce would have changed things, just very thick and not very saucy. The flavor was okay, and on par for a diner. Also got a side of the cucumber salad which was outstanding! Leaving was a bit challenging. There were several old biddies at the cash register selecting bakery items like kids in a candy store. Maybe they were there by design, as I ended up getting a raspberry coffee cake they had on the counter (which was very good). The place is cash only and I needed to make change to tip my waitress. By the time I got back to my table, there was someone already sitting there enjoying her coffee. Since there were only 2 waitresses, it wasn't hard to make sure my server got her just deserves for a job well done. The place was as crowded when I left at 1:00 as it was when I arrived. Also, I'm 60 years old and had to be the youngest in the place by about 20 years!

We tried chocolate, red velvet, and vanilla cake. With Oreo butter cream, cream cheese frosting, chocolate mousse, and chocolate butter cream. The frostings were light and creamy. The cake had a small issue that they fixed right away when we discussed it. They take all feedback to help make the experience better. We even tried their tiramisu, which was excellent as well. All in all I'd recommend them as a bakery and as a wedding dessert place. Angela brought great experience with weddings and helped us get enough cakes without going overboard or breaking our budget.

The cake looks very basic for the price I paid. I could have went to Giant Eagle for the same cake for a cheaper price and most likely a better appearance. Whoever designed this should be ashamed of themselves for the price I was charged. When I brought this to the young man's attention prior to checking out, he didn't seem to care one bit. Definitely won't be coming back! Which is a shame because this is where I always bought my girls cakes.
