Never been to this place but heard a lot of good things. The restaurant is not super fancy, but it's very quaint and elegant. There is no TVs but there is ethnic music playing in the background so it creates a quiet atmosphere for conversation. This restaurant is family owned and run. The father & son manage the dining area. The son who was our server/waiter was very detailed oriented in describing where their food originated & was delivered from + how differently the food would taste with different cuts. I ordered the lamb & my friend ordered the chicken. This particular cut of lamb was not my favorite and I favored the chicken more so next time I dine here I will try a different cut of lamb. With the meal, they serve fresh lemons, and two types of sauces. I personally am not a rice eater however, the way the balsamic rice was prepared I ate everything that was on my plate. Update: We had to visit our friend in the hospital again, and we made sure to stop here for dinner. They sell the brown house sauce, and we bought a bottle at a very reasonable price! This cute, little family-run place was phenomenal. Service was wonderful and attentive. Food was great. We didn't have questions, but the owner was super sweet with another couple explaining the food and offering suggestions. My husband absolutely loved the brown sauce they give you, which is housemade and similar to a bbq/steak sauce. I wish we lived closer... we would be regulars. read more

There are 3 kabob places on this street alone, but this one is by far our return-to favorite. Family-run, they opened in 1984 and my family has been coming here since about that time (though this was my first!). Before Covid they were busting at the seams at all hours, but things have slowed a bit so trying to get more business their way... so let's get to it! Firstly, it was a quiet early Monday afternoon, and we were very warmly greeted and seated. The menu is as you would expect for Mediterranean, with some Greek favorites tossed in (Moussaka for ex.). I wanted to sample all the goodness, so went with the appetizer "Mezze platter" which included a generous amount of hummus, baba g., tzatziki, dolmas, pita, olives, and a new one for me - a larger dolma shaped roll stuffed with rice and ground lamb. SO good. Topped it off with a Turkish coffee served in a lovely brass vessel (briki) that you pour for yourself and it was more than enough for 2 people. The flavor was very unique compared to other coffees from that region that I've tried. Can't wait to go back and try other entrees! Great for groups, couples, or solo. My husband works on Fulton Ave about one day a week. He has started bringing home Kabob House on those days and even my teenager is HOOKED. We have been grabbing the chicken lunch special which comes with grilled chicken breast over rice, and Mediterranean salad. It wouldn't be the same without their house made sauces; tzatziki, garlic sauce and a the last but not least sauce is a dark, rich and tasty sauce which I believe is their house sauce. I ordered the Gyro lunch, NOT 3 cups of old rice with 4 thin (1/4") strips 6" long of seasoned meat! The meat was good but there was so little of it, the bland to nonexistent flavor of everything else ruined it. The small salad had maybe 2 teaspoons of feta cheese on it, no red onion and 2 small Kalamata olives. The sauce was decent. There were 4 small triangles of pita bread.... No gyro sandwich here! My advice, use arugula instead of romaine and the salad would be more authentic not to mention more flavorful. Don't put massive amounts of old rice on the plate! I ordered the food to go; I didn't get a picture of the Chicken Pita, but my husband said it was really tasty. The food was fresh and delicious. The tzatziki sauce was creamy, the Dolomathes were delicious, the hummus was well-made, and the Baba ganoush was well-blended. We enjoyed the warm pita bread. I look forward to going back. As soon as you enter the Kabob House, you feel right at home. You are warmly greeted, who I presume to be the owner, and immediately seated. This restaurant was nearly full for Tuesday lunch and it was apparent that it's frequented by regulars. Found this restaurant on Yelp after having a craving for baba ganoush. And they do not disappoint!! Baba ganoush had a nice toasted, smokey flavor. I learned that the owners son recently changed its recipe to include greek yogurt, which gave it a nice tang. It was served with freshly toasted pita bread. Love! Also got a small greek salad with garlic chicken. Fresh veggies, kalamata olives, topped with juicy, charred, garlicky chicken. So yum! This is not Greek to me. The Pastitsio wasn't like any I'd ever had before, and not in a good way. It was kinda dry, and the bechamel was oddly seasoned. as was the meat. The owners are hard working and kind, the service is good, and the food is so, so good! The value is excellent. A dinner provides more than enough food for two meals, so consider that when you see the very reasonable prices. Stumbled upon Kabob House and this place is a piece of JOY in a restaurant. Small and quaint, gives you a real homey feel. Once you enter the door, you will be greeted with the most amazing lady. Joey her son helped us and someone give this young man a gold star! The most excellent customer service, he knows the food, made suggestions and you can tell they take so much pride on what they do. Food is FRESH! Chicken is lemony fresh, lamb was scrumptious! And again... it was delicious!!! Please give this place a visit. I wanted them to adopt me just because they were so nice. Delicious food and great service! My family came around 5 on a Tuesday so the restaurant was pretty empty when we came in. After perusing the menu, we decided on the garlic chicken plate, the chicken kabob platter, and the ground sirloin/beef kafta plate. The dinner entrees come with a plate of salad and some pita bread as well. Just a disclaimer though, if you want tzatziki or hummus, you have to order separately for those. My favorite was the chicken kabob, grilled to perfection and still juicy. The portion sizes are huge so the four of us were able to eat to our fill with three plates and we still had leftovers. So good and the owners are SO NICE. I came in right when they opened as my car was being worked on next door. It was a couple minutes early but they still sat me and took my order very quickly!! Randomly found this place when searching for some good mediterranean food before a movie, and I must admit I was pleasantly surprised. Not because I under rated the looks of this restaurant, but because I havent had Greek food this good since I visited Greece last year. The Lamb entree was amazing. I already love tzatziki sauce, but the sauce they gave on the side was perfect with the garlic rice. Also had the garlic chicken in a pita wrap which was spectacular. Definitely want to try that in a rice dish next time. The greek salad was a great starter as well. To top it off, the man serving was so nice and great to talk to. Told us what he liked the best, also what was the most popular. He advised how to mix the sauces and how to eat the dishes how they intended them. The garlic sauce and fresh pita were excellent. I had the lamb souvlaki pita. It was also fresh and delicious. The tzatziki sauce was flavorful with just the right amount of lemon and garlic. We enjoyed our meal so much that I ordered Dolmaths/stuffed grape leaves and spanakopita to go.
