Food was good. Fish didn't taste super fresh, especially the tuna nigiri. Seafood yaki udon was very good and so was the beef fried rice. Our server sebastion was amazing! He was funny and very helpful! We enjoyed his help. There were lots of birthdays while we were there and it seems like a fun place to celebrate. They sing to you and make a lot of noise. Great atmosphere and ambiance. Small intimate dining area.

Unagi roll (eel and has cream cheese) and monthly special dish in April 2025 (sushi roll with fried shrimp and cucumber and mayonnaise)

Service is amazing. Ask for Alec. My first time here was two years ago and this restaurant has been great every time. The main thing I would caution against in general is ordering too many of the sushi rolls with cream cheese. Quality is great (you can check my profile coming from San Francisco Bay Area in Northern California and growing up eating at a variety of places, including Japanese restaurants). The portions are just right and the rice is an appropriate consistency and texture. Not seen here I tried the monthly special from March 2025 with a rice plate that contained fried food in Tonkatsu sauce. If you want an excellent dining experience, this is a great place to go and watching the sun set along the nearby beach is a bonus.

We made a reservation at Kabah with one of our reservation letters included with the all inclusive. We weren't expecting much due to the bad reviews on yelp. Our reservation was at 6 PM and we were seated at the window, which was nice. We had a wonderful view of the pool and the sunset. Our server, Daniel, was very friendly and attentive. He recommended a specialty margarita which I ordered. It wasn't overly sweet and was refreshing. For our appetizer, I ordered a spider roll and my husband ordered the salmon nigiri. The salmon nigiri was delicious. The spider roll is not what I am used to. The shrimp teriyaki was very brown inside the roll. However, the spider roll was tasty overall. We ordered the shrimp Teppanyaki for our entree. It didn't look like much in the beginning, but it was quite substantial. It filled us up. It included sautéed vegetables which were still crunchy. The shrimp was nice and plump and seasoned well. We also ordered the fried rice. It was reminiscent of Benihana, although it was a little salty, but still edible. I enjoyed it. The fried ice cream was not available so we ordered the Matcha crème brûlée. The sugar topping could have been flambéed more. However, the custard was quite dense. Normally crème brûlée custard are light. It had a strong Matcha green tea flavor, which was delightful and it was not sweet at all. Overall, we enjoyed our experience and will return when we're in the area. Update: had to downgrade the rating a couple stars. Husband got food poisoning that night from the salmon nigiri.

    Spring Rolls

We spent roughly $200 for 2 ppl. We ordered: 1) Spring Rolls 2) Salmon Sashimi 3) Shrimp Fried Rice 4) Chicken Wonton Soup 5) Philadelphia Roll 6) Shrimp Tempura 7) Vegetable Tempura 8) Matcha Crème Brûlée 9) Hot Jasmin Tea 10) Rice Water 11) Steamed rice What I recommend: 1) Salmon Sashimi 2) Philadelphia Roll 3) Matcha Crème Brûlée We regret everything else here's why... 1) Spring Rolls not good. Weird vinegar smell/taste. Sweet sauce terrible. 2) Shrimp fried rice. Lacks flavor. I think they forgot to crack an egg. Pieces of shrimp not tasty. 3) Chicken wonton soup. Broth was salty. Tasted like beef instead of chicken. Was cold when served. Mushrooms were rubbery. Wontons not good. 4) Shrimp tempura. Was serving for 4ppl & included veggies. Wish waiter would have told us before we ordered this plus the veggie tempura. Too much batter. Some portions of batter under cooked. Portions too big. 5) Veggie Tempura. Same comment as above #4. The waiter should have told us this was too much food for 2 ppl. 6)We came Friday at 6pm. Half the restaurant was empty but they said they were booked with reservations & couldn't seat us. Only space available was at bar, that has no view. Feels like you're staring at a wall. So make reservations if you decide to come. When we left they still had at least 6 tables empty so not sure why they couldn't just sit is at a table. Guess you need a reservation for a table.

Best restaurant at resort that we tried. Sebastian was extremely attentive and very friendly. If you are all inclusive this is the best restaurant option. The ambiance is very nice. Good relaxing music and a very pretty inside. Sushi was pretty good

Don't get the Soicy Tuna Roll, tuna is minced and filling is mush! Nigiri is ok, nothing special.

Very friendly and attentive. I know they got swamped so it stayed off well then there was some delay on request for water etc but overall good service, very nice and friendly staff. Athmosphere of this restaurant was great. Casual but nice, clean, modern, welcoming and cozy. The inside has I think 7 tables but they also have outdoor seating at the back and at the front. All the seating nice. It's located in a row of restaurants and business catered to tourists so you'll see it safe and quite nice little place.

We ordered unagi nigiri, gyoza and spicy edamame for appetizers. The edamame was not spicy at all so heat is not an issue. We sat outside on the decking overlooking the man made lake and changing lights on the lush foliage surrounding it. Unfortunately the water light show was not operational this week but the setting was still beautiful and romantic. Eduardo was our estute waiter who spoke perfect English and made wonderful recommendations. We started with a couple of appetizers: the edamame and the ribeye asparagus rolls - both were delicious. Then for our entrees, we had the black cod and the Chilean Seabass. Both presentations were mouthwatering and the fish were extremely fresh, extremely flavorful and flaky. They came with bowls of steamed white rice and a choice of two soy sauce variations. The citrus variety was my favorite. We had amazing cappuccinos from scratch made for us. Another two options we could have done was hibachi or Korean BBQ. Both looked like fun experiences maybe on a future trip. Thank you Gong for making our dinner experience so memorable.
