So, we signed up for 10 private lessons with Abby, and he worked miracles. Abby first met with us to understand our dog and our needs. Then she crafted a program suited for us. This puppy is now a joy, and not this wild child who was terrorizing our lives. Thank you, Abby!!!!

His anxiety, barking and jumping on people when they came over was making us miserable. Thanks to Abby's advice I was able to see what I was doing wrong and correct it. Her training tips were straightforward and based on praise and reward and not on shock and pain. My dogs are now walking loose lead with little correction and I feel certain with more practice that loose lead will be second nature. The more I work with my dogs using her advice, the more improvement I'll see. I look forward to working with Abby again soon to get my Boxer mix Sophie ready to be a Therapy Dog. Thanks again Abby! This is your calling!

Michelle has been a huge help to us with training our Great Dane puppy. When we first got our…read morepuppy, we were having problems with housebreaking. Michelle does home visits so she came to our house and was able to walk us through housebreaking in our home and made sure the environment was set up appropriately for our puppy. She helped us start bell training with our puppy. She did a follow up Skype session to ensure the housebreaking was going well and to offer additional suggestions since our puppy decided she didn't want to use the bell after all the training. (Of note, our puppy now uses the bell so she was just being stubborn before!). Additionally, we took our puppy to Michelle's Puppy Kindergarten class which has been great for us. This is our first dog and we had no idea how to train her. Michelle demonstrates the training and then walks around the room and works with each of the owners and their puppies to ensure that everyone understands. She is always available by email if you have questions. I would definitely recommend Michelle if you need a trainer for your dog!

I was very thankful that they were able to squeeze us in last minute; however, upon arrival they were yelling in the back kennels for the dogs to 'shut up'. I do get it , barking dogs are annoying and honestly wrote it off; that it was the end of the day and it was likely getting the best of who ever was back there. I did not share this information with my husband as I truly wrote it off, we all have tough days, even in jobs that we love. Upon our return, my husband picked up our dogs mid day and came home telling me the same story. He said , "that place.... They give a great bath- the dogs smell amazing, but they were screaming at the dogs to 'shut up' while I waited for them to bring the dogs back." I wrote it off initially but the fact that they believe it to be okay while people are around, makes me wonder how they treat them when no one is looking. The only other complaint is that my dogs seemed to be much smaller when we picked them up after 6 days. It was either so stressful they wouldn't eat or they weren't encouraging them to eat. If they weren't eating , I'd have appreciated a call so that I could have someone bring by some treats or wet food to encourage consumption. Id say, if you're in a pinch this place might be okay; however, I don't see us using this facility again.

And was treated so rude and disrespectful. I was "crate shammed" because my husband and I do not believe in putting our dog in a cage. She told me my dog was not going to mind until I put her in a cage. I have had dog before, just never a lab, and I was seeking some help with training as she was not responding to my other trained way of teaching. She gave me a clicker with a couple of very confusing instructions and my hour was over. She spent most of the time with her daughter who was in the store and their dog, I was not even able to get any additional information about future training classes. She said look up any additional information on line if I want more information class over and she was not going to give me any help. I will never go back to this store for training or help again. It was a waste of my time and money. There are other local training classes around. Just do not use PetSmart.

However his bark sounded so raspy, like he's been coughing for days. They were too rough, pulling him with a prong collar, while I was there. I didn't really like that. However, my biggest thing was before my pup came, he didn't mind other dogs, he was friendly when they would come close, but he didn't care about them when he would see them on walks, at dog parks, etc. Once I brought him back home from training, he was extremely reactive to other dogs, and he had never done that before. I cannot take him on walks or dog parks without him getting nervous and barking at other dogs. I'm not sure if it's an incident that happened while he stayed here but my dog has not been the same since the day I picked him up from here. Overall, I wouldn't recommend bringing your dog here, my pup has had a traumatic experience that to this day affects us.

They teach the basics, as well as pass on these steps to the owner for the life of your dog. Whats also included in a 2 week package is meeting with you at home or in a public setting to go over what your dog has been trained plus pick up on anything the dog displays in a different environment. If you plan on boarding your dog for a vacation, bring them there! They board and train your dog, for the same price you'd spend to bring them to a vet. We needed to get our pup in as soon as possible and though worked with us on getting her in sooner than originally scheduled, a huge help to us when dealing with a puppy! My favorite thing, they work with therapy training your dog! If you have a need to have a specially trained dog to work with you for a specialty or handicap, they can help you! Another plus, we needed affordable but we needed a trainer to teach our pup the best way possible. If our dog can pick up on what she was trained on, plus we can stack onto that training from learning how to train ourselves, then it makes sense to go somewhere that teaches us how to do it. As our pup grows and matures, I can see having her go back as I want her to progress onto more difficult things. KCTC has an understanding of how dogs think and act and they pass that knowledge onto you , the owner so you can work with your dog smarter and continue on with the training at home. Having the option to reach out for advice as needed or training on more advanced levels is great to have if we ever need it. Some places can take your pet for very long, extended periods of time which can be tough on family members who will miss them too much. Short spurts of training for us was perfect, they offer 3, 7 or 2 week training and with that, I am sure they are flexible if needed. Lastly, if you are military, they honor you for your service!

A Life-Changing Transformation at Seven Lakes Kennels with Neil!…read more Our 15-month-old rescue Great Bernese mix had been through three homes before coming to us. Over 100 lbs and still growing, he was completely out of control -- no leash manners, no recall, no boundaries. Walks were stressful, and we constantly worried he might escape and run loose in the neighborhood, risking injury or worse. After just one month in Neil's board and train program, he came home transformed. Calm, obedient, and happy -- yet still full of the gentle, loving spirit that made us fall for him. We can now take him on walks with confidence and trust him off-leash in safe spaces. The peace of mind this has given our family is priceless. Neil's training approach is extraordinary. He doesn't just teach dogs -- he builds trust, strengthens bonds, and empowers owners. It's clear he truly loves every dog he works with and invests deeply in their well-being. His team is equally amazing -- warm, professional, and passionate. If your dog has behavioral challenges or you want a well-mannered companion, I wholeheartedly recommend Seven Lakes Kennels. Neil gave our dog the structure and guidance to thrive and gave us a new chapter filled with joy and confidence. We are beyond grateful for this incredible journey.
