Her training tips were straightforward and based on praise and reward and not on shock and pain. My dogs are now walking loose lead with little correction and I feel certain with more practice that loose lead will be second nature. Michelle has been a huge help to us with training our Great Dane puppy. When we first got our…read morepuppy, we were having problems with housebreaking. Michelle does home visits so she came to our house and was able to walk us through housebreaking in our home and made sure the environment was set up appropriately for our puppy. She helped us start bell training with our puppy. She did a follow up Skype session to ensure the housebreaking was going well and to offer additional suggestions since our puppy decided she didn't want to use the bell after all the training. (Of note, our puppy now uses the bell so she was just being stubborn before!). Additionally, we took our puppy to Michelle's Puppy Kindergarten class which has been great for us. This is our first dog and we had no idea how to train her. Michelle demonstrates the training and then walks around the room and works with each of the owners and their puppies to ensure that everyone understands. She is always available by email if you have questions. I would definitely recommend Michelle if you need a trainer for your dog!

I was very thankful that they were able to squeeze us in last minute; however, upon arrival they were yelling in the back kennels for the dogs to 'shut up'. I do get it , barking dogs are annoying and honestly wrote it off; that it was the end of the day and it was likely getting the best of who ever was back there. I did not share this information with my husband as I truly wrote it off, we all have tough days, even in jobs that we love. Upon our return, my husband picked up our dogs mid day and came home telling me the same story. He said , "that place.... They give a great bath- the dogs smell amazing, but they were screaming at the dogs to 'shut up' while I waited for them to bring the dogs back." I wrote it off initially but the fact that they believe it to be okay while people are around, makes me wonder how they treat them when no one is looking. The only other complaint is that my dogs seemed to be much smaller when we picked them up after 6 days. It was either so stressful they wouldn't eat or they weren't encouraging them to eat. If they weren't eating , I'd have appreciated a call so that I could have someone bring by some treats or wet food to encourage consumption. Id say, if you're in a pinch this place might be okay; however, I don't see us using this facility again.

And was treated so rude and disrespectful. I was "crate shammed" because my husband and I do not believe in putting our dog in a cage. She told me my dog was not going to mind until I put her in a cage. I have had dog before, just never a lab, and I was seeking some help with training as she was not responding to my other trained way of teaching. She gave me a clicker with a couple of very confusing instructions and my hour was over. She spent most of the time with her daughter who was in the store and their dog, I was not even able to get any additional information about future training classes. She said look up any additional information on line if I want more information class over and she was not going to give me any help. I will never go back to this store for training or help again. It was a waste of my time and money. There are other local training classes around. Just do not use PetSmart.

Another plus, we needed affordable but we needed a trainer to teach our pup the best way possible. If our dog can pick up on what she was trained on, plus we can stack onto that training from learning how to train ourselves, then it makes sense to go somewhere that teaches us how to do it. As our pup grows and matures, I can see having her go back as I want her to progress onto more difficult things. KCTC has an understanding of how dogs think and act and they pass that knowledge onto you , the owner so you can work with your dog smarter and continue on with the training at home. Some places can take your pet for very long, extended periods of time which can be tough on family members who will miss them too much. After discussing some of his behaviors, she offered many training suggestions for him that she would be able to provide during boarding for an additional fee. We never really considered the aspect of training our Dog professionally however, after hearing her explain as to how she could help, we agreed to board him for a few additional days to work on heel, stay and his overall anxiety. After his time spent with her, we immediately felt as if he was a different Dog. She met us on the last day of training and walked us through in detail, everything that she discussed so that we could continue his work at home.
