I brought my pup here in 2020, he was onboarded for a week. When he came back home he was overall a bit calmer than usual and yes it seemed like he was trained well. However his bark sounded so raspy, like he's been coughing for days. They were too rough, pulling him with a prong collar, while I was there. I didn't really like that. However, my biggest thing was before my pup came, he didn't mind other dogs, he was friendly when they would come close, but he didn't care about them when he would see them on walks, at dog parks, etc. Once I brought him back home from training, he was extremely reactive to other dogs, and he had never done that before. I cannot take him on walks or dog parks without him getting nervous and barking at other dogs. I'm not sure if it's an incident that happened while he stayed here but my dog has not been the same since the day I picked him up from here. Overall, I wouldn't recommend bringing your dog here, my pup has had a traumatic experience that to this day affects us. read more

We brought our Labrador 4 month old puppy to KCTC and agree they are amazing. We opted for a two week training and definitely saw a huge difference in our pups behavior upon return. They teach the basics, as well as pass on these steps to the owner for the life of your dog. Whats also included in a 2 week package is meeting with you at home or in a public setting to go over what your dog has been trained plus pick up on anything the dog displays in a different environment. If you plan on boarding your dog for a vacation, bring them there! They board and train your dog, for the same price you'd spend to bring them to a vet. We needed to get our pup in as soon as possible and though worked with us on getting her in sooner than originally scheduled, a huge help to us when dealing with a puppy! My favorite thing, they work with therapy training your dog! If you have a need to have a specially trained dog to work with you for a specialty or handicap, they can help you! Another plus, we needed affordable but we needed a trainer to teach our pup the best way possible. If our dog can pick up on what she was trained on, plus we can stack onto that training from learning how to train ourselves, then it makes sense to go somewhere that teaches us how to do it. As our pup grows and matures, I can see having her go back as I want her to progress onto more difficult things. KCTC has an understanding of how dogs think and act and they pass that knowledge onto you , the owner so you can work with your dog smarter and continue on with the training at home. Having the option to reach out for advice as needed or training on more advanced levels is great to have if we ever need it. Some places can take your pet for very long, extended periods of time which can be tough on family members who will miss them too much. Short spurts of training for us was perfect, they offer 3, 7 or 2 week training and with that, I am sure they are flexible if needed. Kranenburg Canine Training Center is amazing. I spoke with Pete and Gunner at the time of drop off for my dogs (Mini Aussie and Black Lab). I was given a free assessment to so that training could be catered to my dogs well and I was happy to find out that Pete offered a military discount. I had my black lab in for their 2 week board and train and had my mini Aussie in for a 1 week board and train and 1 week for boarding. My dogs came out very well adjusted and trained. At the time of pickup, Gunner, gave me training on how to continue training with my dogs and I have kept up well with it. My dogs impress my family, friends, and even strangers at how well they are trained. I highly recommend going to KCTC for their board and train program. They are very professional and direct when it comes to continuing training and that owners should hold themselves accountable when it comes to continuous training for the life of their dogs. I will definitely come back with future dogs to KCTC for their board and train programs. Extremely unprofessional, confrontational and just plain disrespectful. Not only did the handler who was just meeting my dog for the first time basically hang him on a prong collar just for not turning with him as fast as he could, but the older gentlemen who I still don't even know who he is came out and borderline started interrogating my wife and I. I've spent the last 2 years training my dog with a very reputable company and amazing trainers and these gentlemen are an absolute disgrace to their profession. Being a professional not only in technical competency but in emotional intelligence and the way you treat others is extremely important and these gentlemen severely lacked both I highly suggest taking your business elsewhere don't waste your time like I did. read more

I sent my black labs here for training and although the training was effective upon my dogs return home we notice her incision from where she was fixed three weeks prior going to to training was extremely red and clearly infected. I ended up having to bring her to the vet where the actually have to reopen her incision and clean the wound and re stitch the incision and be on antibiotics for 2 weeks, all because of how bad the infection had got while in the care of the company. Leaving my dogs anywhere was a huge thing and the fact that my dog was trained was made null and void because the lack basic care of my dog was given. Great place! Pete and Gunnar are very nice, knowledgeable, and friendly. Staff work isn't exactly their thing, so it might take one or two calls to get a hold of anyone, but it's well worth it. We brought our nine month old lab/bloodhound puppy to them for a week and he now walks on a leash without dislocating my shoulder, knows sit/stay/down/come and is much better behaved. We've also boarded with them and we certainly will again. They have a great facility for dogs to be outside and playful- not locked up in a kennel for 22 hours a day like a vet's office. Can't beat this place for the price! I will continue to refer my friends to Kranenburg. Also- don't be afraid to train with the electric collar. They're not trying to electrocute your dog, but it's a great tool and makes training time MUCH more effecient! We bought it for the puppy, they showed us how they would use it, and made sure we felt comfortable before incorporating it. read more

We finally got Leo back from the board and train program after 2 weeks!! Although we know that he is the same loving dog, it is a night/day difference when it comes to his behavior!! Anyone that knows him, knows that laying down in my back seat would have NEVER happened!! He's more of a try to jump out the window kind of dog!!) I'm beyond pleased with Kranenburg Kennels Kctc and would recommend them to ANYONE having behavioral or any kind of issues with their dog!! Not only did they train him, but at the first sign of any problem they reached out to us and let us know!
