Holy Moly I had a long wait to see Dr Smith. Apparently there was an emergency, and one of his staff called in sick. I wish they would have called me to tell me that he was running late, so that I didn't have to take so much time off work just to have Dr Smith look at my ankle. If I wasn't in so much pain I would have left, and came back a different day. My appointment was at 4:20pm and I didn't see Dr Smith until 5:40pm. Mind you they close at 5:00pm. The receptionist was vacuuming, and cleaning up to go home, before I was even seen. When Dr Smith did see me, he was ever so nice, and I didn't feel like he was rushing me out the door because it was past closing time. I insisted on taking xrays. I don't know if that was a waste of money, or not, since nothing showed up on the xrays. No breaks or sprains that he could see. He wanted me to wear a boot. (I just got rid of the brand new one that I have never worn, that cost me an arm and leg) I said I didn't want to by another one unless he knew for 100% that it would fix my foot pain. He couldn't guarantee it, so I opted just for an ankle brace, which helps, but still hasn't fixed my foot pain. I'm supposed to go back in two weeks, but I'm just going to see how this ankle brace works first, before I spend another couple hundred dollars for an office visit. read more

Never have I come across a doctor with such rude bedside manner as Dr. Smith. Perhaps he was having a bad day but he seemed offended that I asked some questions and really misunderstood what I was asking. It took a lot for this busy mom to even get to the doctor in the first place and I left feeling so defeated and humiliated. There seemed to be a huge misunderstanding and I am not a confrontational person at all but he snapped at me and said I was interrupting him. I worked in the medical field for years and we would never have treated a patient or spoken to them in the way that he did to me. Dr. Smith is very busy and probably could care less if he loses me as a patient but hopefully I can prevent someone from making the same mistake that I did. A little kindness can go a long way........ ( I just want to add that the one silver lining was the receptionist. She was very polite and professional -unlike Dr. Smith.) read more

I've been seeing Dr Smith for decades. A great doc - always takes the time to answer my questions thoroughly, very caring and easy to talk with. Love his staff too - and convenient location. Two surgeries now completed (different issues, over 30 years) with great outcomes. read more

A very professional and friendly podiatrist. Everyone on their staff was amazing. Everyone was very friendly and full of information. I knew exactly what was wrong with my foot and they had the fix right there on the spot. No more foot pain! They explained everything to me and they definitely know what they are talking about. I'm an avid runner and hiker is my feet being in great health is extremely important to me. Thank you Dr Smith and staff for keeping me on my feet. I find the previous two reviews to be similar to my experience. The office/billing staff is not qualified! My son had surgery in 2013 and I always paid my copays and thought my bill was current until I received a call from collections in April of 2016. I find it outrageous that I had never been contacted by his office in 3 years to settle the bill. I never received an itemized statement to find out what was owing until I pressed for it from collections. We had 2 insurances at the time, now it is too late to bill insurance. (Note: my address, phone number and email never changed) I would also recommended making sure you see an orthopedic before getting the Hyprocure implant. Dr. Smith used too big of an implant and it caused extreme pain. Only after another surgery did we find out it was sitting on the bone. read more

This Dr. and his staff are the most incompetent people I have ever met. We got stuck with a $13,000.00 hospital bill because his office staff did not get pre authorization from our insurance for a speciality operation on my husbands foot. They Assumed they had one. The absolute worst! I went to go see Stanton Smith 2 months ago for a second opinion on a bunion that is causing me pain. (The first opinion was from Dr. Anderson at Salt Lake Orthopedic). At the time, Dr. Smith's suggestion was very conservative compared to Dr. Anderson's. I thought nothing much of it at the time. His office was clean, and as a doctor he was very knowledgeable. Ultimately, I decided not to have bunion surgery and considered the whole process over... Until the morning of January 2nd. When I received an urgent phone call from St. Mark's Surgery Center stating that I was due in for foot surgery that morning, on behalf of Dr. Stanton Smith, and asking why I had not checked in yet. This was a shock to me since I had never even spoke of making a surgery appointment with K2 Foot and Ankle staff (it was just a second opinion after all). I told the nurse from St. Marks I had never made the appointment and it would have to be cancelled. Immediately I called K2 and spoke to Angela. Relaying the story to her about how I received an urgent call from the surgery center, she responded that Dr. Smith's nurse must be at fault for making the appointment and she would find out what happened. She also said that she would clarify that everything was cancelled and give me a call back that same day... It's been over a week at this point and I have yet to receive that phone call. Like I said, the absolute worst! Dr. Smith may be a good podiatrist (he came highly recommended by my manager), but my experience was outrageous. I don't understand how they were able to make a appointment for surgery, without my consent. The incompetency K2's staff make me wonder how he has any patients left at all. read more

Dr. Stanton Smith took care of 2 ingrown toenails for me in past years --- & neither has ever given me any problems since -- Dr. Smith cured the problem PERMANENTLY. When my son experienced his first (& only) ingrown toenail as a teen, I allowed his pediatrician's office to treat it. WHAT A MISTAKE! He was already in great pain before our car even pulled in the driveway on the way home. Some months later I took him to Sr. Smith who performed his PAIN-FREE & PERMANENT ingrown toenail procedure. Honestly if I could leave no stars I would. It doesn't deserve a star at all... my husband used this doctor in December when he sprained his ankle, and the original appointment they gave him a boot to wear until about mid January. He went back for a follow up appointment in January, and was charged more for a follow up and a soft ankle brace than for the original appointment. When we tried to contact the company, they are all about using their website and communicating through email- so I emailed them the issues I had with them over charging us, and told the lady that I would not pay the bill until we were sent a paper statement, they never sent us a paper statement at all. so the lady emailed me back Emily, I believe was her name, and explains that when we call their office and verify the address then she will send out a statement... well they have our address and I didn't find it necessary to give it to them again... we never received a statement... the account became past due, so I finally just paid it. Their office ethics are terrible and I'm surprised a business that runs like that is continuing to run on a regular basis... it won't last for long if they don't change the way they run things and their prices are ridiculous I would never recommend them to anyone! read more

Dr. Smith is an amazing doctor! You feel like he actually cares when asking whats wrong. He is very friendly and personable. He easily diagnosed my issue. The rest of the staff is also very kind and I never once felt like a bother. I think people only ever talk about if something goes wrong, but from what I can tell patients here have a good experience every time. There may be a couple of hiccups, but that happens in life. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM TO EVERYONE! read more
