Holy Moly I had a long wait to see Dr Smith. Apparently there was an emergency, and one of his…read morestaff called in sick. I wish they would have called me to tell me that he was running late, so that I didn't have to take so much time off work just to have Dr Smith look at my ankle. If I wasn't in so much pain I would have left, and came back a different day. My appointment was at 4:20pm and I didn't see Dr Smith until 5:40pm. Mind you they close at 5:00pm. The receptionist was vacuuming, and cleaning up to go home, before I was even seen. When Dr Smith did see me, he was ever so nice, and I didn't feel like he was rushing me out the door because it was past closing time. I insisted on taking xrays. I don't know if that was a waste of money, or not, since nothing showed up on the xrays. No breaks or sprains that he could see. He wanted me to wear a boot. (I just got rid of the brand new one that I have never worn, that cost me an arm and leg) I said I didn't want to by another one unless he knew for 100% that it would fix my foot pain. He couldn't guarantee it, so I opted just for an ankle brace, which helps, but still hasn't fixed my foot pain. I'm supposed to go back in two weeks, but I'm just going to see how this ankle brace works first, before I spend another couple hundred dollars for an office visit.

Since my last fusion I've continued to suffer greatly, unable to work, do daily chores, and just live without struggling with this pain. Well, I had another MRI and EMG and another nerve study done. I followed through on everything I was told I should do by the PA's in his office and even though a different doctor. And they proceeded to shut me down regarding the pain, stiffness and tightness, to name a few issues, and then proceeded to dismiss me from their care and told me to go find a new Neurologist because they didn't think I was a good candidate for surgery. First, please go over my test results, second,suggest a couple of different Neurologist's, third, just because I might not need another fusion right away, I still deserve to be treated like I was treated before each of my surgeries!! One last thing, in 2019 when I went back to see Dr. Pingree to go over a recent MRI which was ordered by a different doctor, he proceeded to yell at me and asked me why I didn't come in to him! Okay, I guess when you are no longer a good surgical specimen everyone in that office treats you like your out of your mind and that you have no idea what is happening within your own body?!?!? As far as I go, I'm extremely in touch with the going's on within my body and expect to be treated better that just a paycheck!!! So now I'm without a Neurologist and have no idea who's good, compassionate and loyal to their patients!?!?!? I'm very sad and in complete dismay!! Good luck!!!

Afterwards, the follow up was point on and I returned 100%+ not only because I followed his directions and recommendations, yet because he was available for questions, follow up or any needs with detailed answers of what the out come could be if I "hurried" the healing process. I did a great deal of research before deciding to move forward, and I'm very glad I chose him. Dr. Rasmussen took the time to answer my questions thoroughly and made sure I understood the procedure, recovery, potential risks, and possible side effects. He and his team were professional, attentive, and made the entire office and surgical experience as positive as possible. Within about three months, I had returned to nearly normal activity, and eight years later I have had no problems with the replacement. Most of the time, I honestly forget that I even have an artificial hip. My experience with Dr. Rasmussen was excellent, and I would gladly choose him again if I ever needed another orthopedic surgery.

I'd understand if I was just recovering from an accident and insurance was covering it, but I'm just there for a quick crack and dash. She tells me it's required and its an additional $99 on top of the $70 adjustment. No mention of this prior. Good customer service would've been "Hey we'll do this for free because we dropped the ball and wasted your morning.". but no. I told her my frustration and left am hour 20 after I got there. I also asked questions which I did not know were not allowed and frowned upon. I also didn't know that wanting them to obtain a prior authorization and bill my insurance was "wanting everything for free." If I wanted something for free I would have taken him up on the offer of taking their collagen powder that he requested I take "for free". I also apologize for not jumping into a $9,000 package. I kept going back to him because I was nowhere near where he said I would be in my recovery. Plus my heal was hot still. Duh. The anchors for the Achillis had detached and the mesh he put in was rejected by my body. I felt horrible for 8 months. Dr. Beals did the surgery again 8 months later. He had to scrap down to healthy bone to reattach the anchors and pick out the mesh that should not have been placed in there. I'm mending on schedule now. I went through hell by believing it would be an easy fix as Dickerson said. Plus, I didn't know to ask for a nerve block during the surgery. Unnecessary severe post op pain!

I'm a little skeptical of chiropractors in general because I've had my own experiences where you could tell that they had no intention of helping me, they just wanted to me to come in every week and take my money, and they never gave me useful info to take home so I could also help myself. Despite my skepticism, I went in and had an adjustment because I was experiencing a lot of pain and discomfort. Several hours later I feel SO MUCH BETTER! The best part about my visit was the fact that he didn't tell me that I needed to come in once a week for the rest of my life in order for this pain to go away. Dr. Vance was kind, informative, and made me feel comfortable about my adjustment! Glad to have found this awesome office and I I'm looking forward to taking care of some of my back issues with a doc I can trust.
