I ordered an iced matcha with almond milk and half pump of simple syrup. My husband just ordered an americano. It did take awhile to get our order-there were two other people ahead of us, but you could tell that everything was handcrafted. Everything we ordered was delicious! It was like a thick, chewy slab of pizza crust with some cheese and jam on top. Literally, the texture and taste was exactly like a thick, stale pizza crust. So confusing. The chocolate macaron was hard as a rock. We went across the street to the bookstore after and got macarons that were delicate, soft, and melted in our mouths, and the difference was striking. The gf pop tart was the best of the three, but even that was doughy and falling apart so that's not saying a lot! Overall, for a bakery, I was really disappointed. Coffee is consistently good, but man. The pastries really fell short.

I'm not asking for a whole deep clean scrub down but she didn't even do a quick wipe or scrape of the tray. After asking her if she was going to clean the tray off she simply said, " why are you allergic or something?" I said no but then she rebutted "Your not going to be able to taste it so that's why I didn't clean it". After asking her to remake it she told the other server and said here you remake it I'm not remaking it. The other lady stepped in and remade it on a clean tray no problem, but the 1st lady was arguing with me when the tray clearly had another flavor still leftover from her previous roll. Our new server had immediately wiped off her tray without begin asked after making my order. So it was disheartening that our 1st server didn't wipe ours off.

On the morning we arrived I got an seasonal Matcha and added strawberry puree they were happy to accommodate my request to add the fruit. The matcha was not too sweet, the fruit addition was great! In terms of the pastry, I do not remember the name, but this was like a sweetened rolled croissant with bacon. It was delicious, and quite filling for my first thing in the morning. I never had anything like this, so it was unique and I enjoyed it think candy bacon cross with a standard butter croissant. All the best things of both are had here. I'm hoping to go back in the future and snag a cinnamon roll, but be there early because others probably have that thought too. Can't wait for my next visit!
