Spent a few days here recently while in the area on our summer walkabout. The park is comfortable,…read morequiet and well spaced out with nice room between sites. This park is a couple miles inland off the highway, the road in is wide and well marked and the route does take you through part of town. I made reservations over the phone and the woman helping me not only gave me a great rate for my stay, she gave me an additional 10% off for my military service. They do support veterans here. Not all RV parks do. The park is pretty much self check in, there is no office per se, but management is available over the phone and via text messages. Our site was down inside the park, site 39, a level gravel pull through with 50 amp service and FHU. All the hooks up were within a few feet of each other making connections simple and straight forward. This park has FHU on every other site, so if you are looking for that be aware not all sites have a sewer drain port. Each site has a concrete patio area with an aluminum picnic table with benches and a fire ring. There are play areas with swings for kids, a small soccer field and a covered gazebo on the end which has a solid concrete floor with picnic table benches, power, water, lights and a huge smoker and bbq station along with a portapotty. There's a self serve ice station up front along with a dumpster, and covered RV storage. Wide gravel roads with no interior trees makes navigation through the park pretty simple and easy. There are some perimeter shaded back in sites along the outside down by the creek and gazebo, otherwise its full sun. It is easy to get in and get out, and just a short, straight shot down Broadway from the Interstate. The town of Mt. Vernon is small, but it has everything you may need while living on the road - Walmart, dining (fast food, diners, and steakhouses) and even a couple of "travel plazas". We even availed ourselves of a Freightliner Oasis shop for some regular maintenance work while we were here. And this is all within a couple miles of the park. The have cabins (if you need to "spread out") and even a couple of retro trailers for rent. And they take credit-cards. The staff was very helpful and friendly, the "lounge" area in the office quaint and comfortable, and the hookups (water, sewer, electric- all the way up to 50-amp) were all very well maintained. The free WiFi was excellent - as good as any place I've stayed (but, hey - the get dodgy now-and-again) - and I was able to work on my computer (I work remotely) most of the time. Great cellular reception when that was needed. A nice playground for the kids and a big enclosed dog area, in my opinion, rounds out all the "must-haves" for a good, solid, comfortable stay. This "year-round" park does have one quirk - it is the only park I have ever seen where the sites are "head-to-toe"; you share the utility hookup area (you each get your own hookups) with one neighbor, and you share the "yard" and picnic table (yes - they all have picnic tables) with the other neighbor. This was not as bad as you might expect, since most folks came in late in the day and left early the next. All things considered, we definitely recommend this as a place to regenerate while on a long haul through the area. We have family in the state, so I know we will.

Neighbor came over to give us a hand and information. I would definitely stay here again. We stayed here in a 32' travel trailer with pick-up that is 53' overall. You enter down a road with the office at the end. We were on the front row which has 2 exits making it easy to get out. And it was quiet so it was nice to sleep!

They still have full hook-ups. The ground are well-kept and have statues carved from wood around the site - Rocky (from Bullwinkle, not the boxer ); Abraham Lincoln; and a rooster on top of a pig on top of a horse - not kidding. Oh, and there are real roosters and hens walking around. Super cool! The sites are gravel and level with fire rings. While the campground is very quiet, there is interstate noise at night - be aware. Also, there seems to be a waste water treatment facility nearby - the occasional funk is not so amazing. Great for an overnight stay or a long weekend away with the kids, especially once the pool opens back up.

I did not get any sort of confirmation email, only a text message photo of a receipt for the $103.50 deposit. A fellow camper in my group called me a week ago and said our reservation had been changed because the campground had double booked us. I called and left a message saying I'd like to understand and get this straightened out. When they called back the guy yelled at me and told me they still have us but in a different spot. When I asked about moving our deposit to the next year's ride or possibly refunding our deposit he refused to work with me. Throughout the call he was rude and unprofessional. Rather than focusing on my reservation and working towards a solution he kept talking about another camper's reservation changes. Needless to say after this negative experience I will not be camping at this place.
