I haven't been to Zion Market in years so had no clue this was there. The staff was helpful, and I got super lucky that there were a few other customers my niece's age that helped me pick out a few albums for tomorrow. I purchased an NCT Light Stick for an upcoming NCT concert at the Crypto.com Arena in Las Angeles, October 6th 2022. I purchased the light stick with a sticker price of $99.99 dollars from K-Pop Fancy inside the Zion Marketplace. This amount was double the amount charged anywhere else that I could find these light sticks. Unfortunately they were sold out everywhere else, so I felt backed in a corner to purchase the light stick at the higher price. The sales clerk we worked with put batteries in the light stick to see if it would light up properly, which it did. She also explained that there would be no exchanges or returns on this product. So we purchased the NCT Light Stick and went on our way. Once home my daughter went through the box that it was packaged in looking for a very coveted collectors card with an NCT members photo and signature on it. These photo cards are included in all authentic NCT Light Stick boxes. My daughter was so disappointed, but still grateful to have the light stick for the concert. Once at the concert they were selling the Official NCT Light Sticks for $55.00. People who purchased these authentic NCT Light Sticks were excited to share their photo cards and trade them. Which began my concern that we may have purchased a copy of the light stick, not an original, as ours had no photo card. I was correct. Once inside the venue while the audience was syncing their light sticks to be interactive with the show, my daughter's would only turn on the one color, it would not sync to be part of the interactive light show. The NCT Light Stick was a fake. We had a really good time at the concert despite the fake light stick, but would HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU DO NOT PURCHASE light sticks for concerts at this location. read more

An extremely RUDE CASHIER WITH LONG RED HAIR. I've been at this store multiple times and have been treated well except today. We also traveled to South Korea multiple times and have never been treated this way. Be careful - this young cashier had some power trip going on as she rudely placed what I wanted to buy from the right side of the cash register to the left and angrily held the check out sign (a small makeshift handwritten sign that anyone can miss). Mind you this place is extremely small. There were couple of kids blocking that area so I wasn't able to place the item there. I've been in the customer service field for years and this young inexperienced cashier desperately needs some serious training. Good luck to the owners should they decide to keep her. read more

Great little store. Its quite small and crammed full, but there is so much product. Cute little stationary, hand fans, anime stuff, masks, fun trinkets, and lots of KPop stuff. They have a lot of albums from a lot of different groups, not just the usual BTS and Blackpink. They restock often and get new releases relatively quickly. Prices for albums are usually around 24 dollars which is pretty standard in my opinion. They also have picture books, lightsticks, and official and unofficial merch. Ive gotten quite a few albums, photocards, Kpop pillows, lanyards, and other things there. I try to visit a few times a month. They also post when new shipments arrive on social media which is so helpful! Definitely my go to Kpop Store. read more

Rude, unfriendly customer service from both cashiers so I agree with the other customers about the one with the glasses sitting as the main cashier. Initially they were ok, but if you ask them a question, they act you are bothering them. Please don't do customer service if you don't enjoy your job. What the heck is "K-Pop Fancy"? A name like that does not shed much light on the store. I would describe it as a funny little store with non distinct colored plastic things. Little animals, fuzzy pens, imprinted backpacks and accessories. If I was a little Korean girl I might love this store. The hair accessories that I was were expensive and underwhelming. If you like paying for high end hair styling products and receiving significantly lower quality items then you will fancy K-Pop. I was able to find a lightweight and adorable hand fan for $10 and there may be buried treasures if you are patient. The lady running the store was very specific about exactly how everything in the store was positioned. I touched two fans and after I left the clerk spent ten minutes rearranging a tiny stack of fans. read more

I've come here on and off for years, and I remember when this used to be one of the only local spots that sold kpop merch. Dropped by with a friend to have a look around and maybe partly because we were now older with more disposable income, or the album prices have grown more competitive as demand for kpop has become more mainstream, but we soon found ourselves with armfuls of albums thinking well, we're already here, so why not? The girl at the register was unpleasant from the start. When I asked if they had another copy of an album both my friend and I wanted, she said no without even glancing at it. If we examined an item to figure out what it was, she would immediately say to put it down. She'd passive aggressively follow after corners of the store we were browsing in to "tidy" areas we hadn't even touched and generally behaved as if we had invaded her space in her own home. Cool. How she spends her energy is her right I suppose. Then when it came time to pay I took out the punch card I've had for years. She looks at it and says sharply that all but one of the punches on it are invalid. They must have changed it to a stamp that has their store logo, but when I first got it workers would write the dates and their initials so that's what most of the stamps were. It's taken me so long to fill out because their items used to be so expensive compared to online stores that I'd rarely buy from them unless it was an item already sold out elsewhere or on sale. I explained that the card was very old but she interrupts me and insists they've never written employee initials on stamp cards ever. This rubbed me the wrong way - firstly that she was so brazenly stating something she had no way of knowing (unless she's been working there since she was 12?) and second that she seemed to be implying I was faking punches on my card. How would I have convinced the last worker to make that latest "correct" stamp then? Did that person hand me a card, choose to start stamping on the second line, all so that I could go and backfill the rest with fake punches in different colors and handwritings? Just to one day reach this girl in the hopes of getting an unearned $10 off... If she said that too much time has passed and they changed the system it would have at least come across less accusatory. I remember when I first got the stamp card, it was when I bought an EXO photobook from their trip to Europe. I was really excited about it because it was on discount and I was a huge fan at the time. That must have been at least six years ago, so if that's too long for the stamps to still count, that's fine. The latest stamp was from when I bought a BlackPink photobook released last year, yet whichever cashier we had hadn't said anything then. There was also just no reason to act like I was trying to cheat their system when I already had $100 of merch in my arms. I'd show a picture of the card but she tore it and kept the pieces, which frankly came off more unhinged, before aggressively stamping my new purchases onto a new card. Even the way she entered my purchases was angry like having sales to report was causing her a great and cruel inconvenience. I didn't make a fuss or argue at all - it's $10 off when you spend a cumulative $200, not really worth fighting for - so I'm not sure where her attitude was coming from, but it was the interaction that bothered me more than anything. I even thought we'd really offended her some way before I read all the reviews citing terribly rude customer service. And all that trouble was a waste of everyone's time because I doubt I'll want to return when I can just order albums from cd shops in LA and bypass this nonsense. I'd recommend Choice Music, Music Plaza, or Kpop Republic's online stores for competitive pricing even when you factor shipping within California. Ktown4u has fair pricing too depending on your shipping selection and order size, and even Mercari (online) or Bookoff (in Kearny Mesa) are options if you don't mind second-hand albums. For another brick-and-mortar experience FYE in Carlsbad has kpop albums, and Haha Fashion in Mira Mesa has a small amount of kpop merch and similar types of cute plushies and accessories. Even Target has a limited online selection of kpop cds. I'd suggest any and all of those before coming here. I can only presume due to their hostility toward customers that this is how their employees would prefer it as well. read more

Two workers were standing in the front of the store and didn't even greet me as a customer. I even looked straight at them during their conversation as I walked in. Upon looking around.. they had a decent selection of items, but good lord they are wildly OVERPRICED. It's insane. Yet I still considered buying something they had that I'd been wanting for a long time. Unfortunately for them, they didn't say a word to me during my 10 minutes in the store.. and then nothing again as I walked out empty handed. The parents who bring their children here are definitely negligent. There is clearly a sign in front of the store, detailing how the store is not responsible for children who enter this store, which is the nicest way of saying "watch your own damn kids". The girls who work here try hard to keep the store looking nice and clean for every shopper. This isn't a Toys R Us, or a children's museum, or a Chuck E. Cheese, it's a small novelty store, even smaller than my own bedroom. With the children running around and their parents doing nothing, it's really hard to look around and shop inside the store. I believe that children are children. However their parents are adults, and should look after them at all times. All these complaints about the cashiers being rude to them or to their children wouldn't be an issue if the parent was actually being a parent and looking after their own children. Anyway, every time I am here, the girls are very polite and helpful. I have never had a bad experience with them. Thy are just as polite to my grandchildren as well. Most of the time, I just end up hurrying out because a child is running around and their parent is just staring at their phone. All the complaints here make me sad because it's unfounded and selfish. If parents want great customer service, they can start by doing the most basic thing, and watching after their children. No one else should be responsible for the children and their actions besides the parents. read more

I flew from San Francisco and went here for a little vacation in San Diego for a few days. Found this store to check it out. Just as I was paying for my TWICE merchandise, they were playing "Merry & Happy" by TWICE, I was thinking about buying a TWICE pillow, but it wasn't going to fit in my bag when I had to take the plane from the airport a few days later. The airline I took was Southwest Airlines, in which you can check-in 2 bags for free, additional bags brought in the plane will charge extra for it. My 4 girls walked into the store and the lady attacked them right away saying" that my little one can not go inside the store by herself because she needs adult supervision". I was like" she's 8" and her sisters are 16 years old". We left and decided to go back because we drove 45 mins just for this store. The store is very cute but there was one employee that was extremely rude to me and my friends. Since we didn't open the album in front of them and didn't record us opening the package, my friend was not allowed to exchange her album. However, we had bought the album from them 5 minutes ago so it was not like she would destroy the album on purpose. The album was torn on the inside and there were dents that we couldn't see due to the wrapping. The employee rolled her eyes at us and was very rude speaking to my friend's mom. She told us that there were signs around the store, however, we did not see such signs. K-Pop Fancy is pretty much an accessories store that has some of your K-pop needs and other Asian goodies. I check in here almost every time I need to go to Zion Market. Everything is very organized. Since they don't have a return policy, I went to exchange a car mirror that was $26.99 for some other items equal or greater value. I exchanged it for a Totoro pillow blanket that was $35.99 and a small backpack case for $17.99. Total came about $52. What I don't understand is how I didn't get credited the $26.99, but only a small amount... I had my receipts in hand. It should have been around close to $28. So it felt like I got ripped off by over $20. Maybe there's a fine print on the exchange policy that I don't know about where the item I exchange becomes less value or something. Of all the times I've been here the associates have been very friendly and helpful. The associate was friendly at check-out but I just think that the experience should have been handled a little bit better. read more

The store itself is quite small but it's overall selection of toys, albums and random goodies makes up for it. I'm visiting from the East Coast where Kpop isn't as big so it was a nice change to see a store carry albums of my favorite artists like IU, ITZY, TWICE and BLACKPINK. I would say the prices of the albums are quite fair considering there aren't that many other stores nearby and that it's an in-person store where you can get it on the spot right then and there. When people call it "overpriced" compared to other sites, they don't take into account how much shipping actually is (ex. I bought IU's Lilac Hilac Edition for $29) which is really fair in my opinion. They also sell goods like socks, plushies, banners, posters, mini toys, keychains etc. The lady that assisted me in the store was really nice and helpful in what I was trying to look for, she didn't mind how long I took and deserves a lot of credit for what she does! The store can sometimes get a bit cramped so I would recommend wearing a mask and I would recommend checking out their instagram page in advance to your visit for updating store hours and what they have new in store (@kpopfancysd) Otherwise 10/10 for me, will definitely stop by if I visit San Diego again! read more
