I was…read moreimpressed they could fit us in as a new patient in just a 2 week wait as Gentle Dental in Thorndale, which is closer, quoted us 6 MONTHS as a wait. The quick appt time was where things ended. I completed the 7 pages of online registration and recv the confirmation email. When we arrived they didn't have it and the paper registration was 9 pages, fun times but not that big of a deal. After my child went back I just stayed in the small waiting area. Over the next 30 minutes the waiting room filled up. I was working on my laptop as the dental hygienist suddenly showed up and then in a relatively loud voice announced my child's diagnosis, prognosis, and asked several questions of personal medical history. This was all with 5 to 6 other patients and family members could plainly hear. I'm no HIPAA maniac, but this really put my hackles up. I felt deeply disturbed and embarrassed to have to share such private information with strangers. Then to make another appt I was led into a semi private consultation booth to speak to the receptionist behind the waiting room door. Why is that area not used for consultation? They seriously need to either expand their office space or move to a larger office to afford patients and their caregivers privacy. Then of course I was shocked to find out the follow-up appt would be 6 months out and that was the soonest they have. What are you doing that you have to book that far out? Again bring in a practice partner to share the load or reduce your patient load. Overall the end of what was a standard dental appt was deeply problematic. We will be trying the Thorndale office since the appt is the same time away at this point. Or perhaps we will head back to the Main Line where the staff was far more professional and perfectly versed in healthcare privacy.

Up front, let me simply say, West Chester Dental Arts is the absolute best for any kind of dental…read morework whether routine or complex. The amazingly skilled and congenial Dr. Fort plus his team of talented professionals (like gum specialist Stephanie or hygienist Shannon) can do it all -- pleasantly and expertly. You can readily tell that the entire WCDA team like each other and their work as they smile and display gentle senses of humor which make even anxious patients smile. Moreover, you won't be sent to other dental offices for complex procedures like I've experienced with other dentists. As a senior citizen with various dental problems over the years, I've had decades of experiences. These experiences have varied widely at dental offices literally around the U.S. and even a few outside the U.S. plus one on a U.S. Navy aircraft carrier where I served for a couple of years. Some dentists were good but their support team had weaknesses like an unpleasant receptionist or untalented hygienist; other times, the weak point of the practice was actually the dentist who didn't have much ability so he or she had to re-direct you to other dental offices for any procedure that was complex. It's a whole new dental world at West Chester Dental Arts where I've found everyone to be friendly, gracious and talented expert professionals in all their team roles. Recently I needed a dental implant to replace a missing tooth and was apprehensive about the process as I had heard some concerning stories from friends about the process based on their experiences with other dentists. But, everything went totally smoothly for me with highly skillful Dr. Fort and his support team. I experienced virtually no pain at any time from start to finish during the several month process and the implant fits so perfectly that it feels and looks just like another one of my natural teeth that has been in my mouth for years. The superior talents and pleasant attitudes of Dr. Fort and his talented team have given me great comfort about any dental work I may need in the future. BTY, Dr. Fort is the first dentist I've ever overheard say that he truly enjoys his work and appreciates his patients. That comment alone was enough to make me know that I had finally found my dentist for the rest of my life!

Super friendly and great dentist! Easy to make an appointment, very considerate and helpful.read more

Dr. Dunn and Dr. Montgomery are the most skilled, most gentle, most thorough, and kindest dentists…read moreI have ever known. (I feel like this should mean a LOT coming from me, because a series of unfortunate dental experiences has traumatized me to the point that I have enormous amount of dental anxiety AND also an enormous amount of dental fixing to be accomplished -- even 15 years later.) I would follow either of these doctors to the ends of the earth, and I would never allow another dentist to care for me (which will be very problematic if either one should retire while I still have teeth!!!). I have been seen on a routine basis, on an emergency basis after hours, squeezed in before work, after work (for me), on the weekend. Both dentists have called me to check in after a procedure, or have called if I've had a concern after hours. If specialized advice is needed, they have many exceptional contacts in the area, and on the occasion that I have required referral for advanced work, I have known that I would be able to trust their referral partner as much as I do them. Dr. Dunn and Dr. Montgomery care so much about their clients' well-being and comfort, and they also love what they do, and they are masters in their field. They treat their staff with respect, and their staff is kind, gentle, and well-skilled across the board. Their facility is brand new, immaculately clean, and offers multiple state of the art treatments that are rare to find in a primary care center. I recommend these doctors to everyone I know who is looking because I know how much they have helped me and care for me, and I know that my experience is the rule there (and not the exception to it).

Of course, given the way the healthcare system is set up in the U.S., it is quite expensive to "try out" a new healthcare provider, just to see if they are a good fit. On a whim, I checked out Groupon to see if I could find any good dentists. After looking through a number of options, I decided to visit Dr. Cruz at Aspire Dental Care due to the combination of price, office hours, good reviews, and the holistic health philosophy that is sadly lacking in much of the dental industry these days. Let's just say that I couldn't be happier I chose to go with Aspire. Dr. Cruz is smart and caring, and he took the time to explain everything to me with the help of both x-ray and intraoral photographs. He also took into consideration both my dental AND medical history to come up with an appropriate treatment plan; I've never had a dentist do this before. The staff is similarly fantastic. Post-appointment, they actually sat down and walked me through my treatment plan to ensure I understood the future dental work I may want to have done. Moreover, when I told them I didn't have dental insurance, they were more than willing to work with me on a dental discount plan. Even with all this, I never felt they were "pushing" any unnecessary treatments on me. All in all, I'm looking forward to staying with Dr. Cruz, despite the fact that it's a 45 minute drive away for me. I not only value the level of care I receive at Aspire, but I also trust that they have my best interests at heart.

I have always had great dental experiences prior to using this dentist…read more I went to this dentist from a referral from 2 co-workers who really liked this office and they were in network with my insurance. I called the office and made sure they were in-network with my insurance which was Met-Life. I had a cleaning and went back for a filling which turned into a root-canal / Crown. While Dr. Shelly's wife drilled my tooth that needed a filling she stopped and said that they went all the way down and the decay is to the root. I now need a root canal and got very upset as I never had one before and was scared. She was not not very caring and actually told me that she didn't have time to finish so I would have to have her husband Dr. Eric Shelly. I was brought into another room and meet him for the first time. He was a very large man and very rough with his hands and does not have patience. He knew I was upset and really didn't care, he was there to do a job and that was it. He yelled and was short with his dental assistant, and even yelled at me that I need to control my tongue as it was in his way. Well excuse me but I am numb and cannot control nor feel where my tongue is. He pressed on my jaw at one point while working and it hurt, he knew he hurt me and told me to sit still. I was sort of stuck at this point because my tooth was drilled and I had to finish the work, but I immediately went home and told my Husband about this awful experience. He went into the Dentist office the next morning and gave this office and dentist a piece of him mind and told him that we would never be back. The Dentist stated he was sorry and wanted to apologize to me. So my husband brought me into the office, the Dr apologized and told me he had a bad day. But you know what we all have bad days, when you are a dentist you cannot take it out literally on your patients. I got my permanent crown and will never go back. However after being billed we realized that this office is an Out of Network provider and misleads their patients. As a test we called the office last week and asked if they took Metlife, which the girl said yes we do. Then the we asked if they were in network, she replied yes we take Metlife and can bill them for network services. But my poor husband only had his temp crown from this office and it has since broke. However our insurance paid this office the total amount for the crown so now we have to fight and write an appeal to get the money they paid this dentist for the permanent crown back, so my husband can go to the new dentist and get a new Crown. What a mess, this Dentist and office, lost myself, my husband and 5 others of my co-workers who used to go to this practice..... Maybe this dentist will think twice about having a bad day and taking it out on his patients and staff again. As people talk and especially when you work for a big company!

They told me that I needed to come back at another time to have that process done where they will scale my WHOLE MOUTH!!! NUMB MY ENTIRE FACE all at once! - because thats the way they do it. Sorry, don't really feel like biting my tounge off. They then very courtiously led me to the "financial office" to go over options and let me know how much I would owe for that service. Clearly alot more than they would have received for a regular cleaning. The hygenist was very sweet but clearly this practice is all about selling and not really caring for the actual needs of each individual patient. Obviously, I did not schedule the appointment for them to numb and scrape my entire mouth. Simply going to another office get my cleaning
