Honest mechanic, who does quality work at a great price. What more could you ask for? TIP: MAKE AN APPOINTMENT Daniel is the owner and only mechanic. I highly recommend making an appointment so you don't need to wait while he helps someone else. I called and was able to get an appointment within the same week. I even called to reschedule, and Daniel was very accommodating. Since I am a young female, I can tell that auto shops and car dealerships try to take advantage of me. Daniel is very honest. He did all the maintenance right in front of me, and showed me all the supplies and products he used. I really appreciated this transparency. I came for an oil change for my Honda Civic. I didn't ask him to check anything else. While the old oil was draining, we basically did a free inspection. He put air in all my tires. Then he opened the hood and checked several things. He put water in the coolant. He showed me the color of my transmission fluid, and brought over a new bottle of transmission fluid to show me what color it's supposed to be. Then he told me I don't need to change it just yet, but next time I get my oil changed. He doesn't try to push you to get more services done like dealerships do. Daniel finished my oil change and car inspection in about 20 minutes. And I paid around $20 less than if I went to Jiffy Lube, and about $40 less than if I went to the Honda dealership. He does quality work at a great price, and was very efficient and honest. I plan to go to Daniel for all my car maintenance from now on! read more

See Daniel at KC Auto, tell him I sent you, and he'll take great care of you! KC Auto is a Korean owned auto repair. They are perhaps one of the most honest auto repair locations in OC. Daniel is the owner and the one on staff who speaks the most English, unless his son has started working there. They have a repairman who speaks mostly Spanish and a little broken English, but otherwise most of the staff are Korean and speak very little English. They service mostly Asian imports but for 10 years I brought my Dodge Ram truck there for any needed repairs or service. They are cash only, but they will never do repairs you did not approve, or try to get you to spend more than is absolutely necessary to get your vehicle up and running safely again. They will also hold all parts that they replace so you can see for yourself what went wrong with it, unless you tell him never mind. They will take time to explain what is going on and what needs to be done and will not push you to make any decisions you don't wish to make. This is all just part of their commitment to good customer service. Their prices are very reasonable. Between the fantastic service and the prices I have found paying cash is worth it. They help keep the costs down so you're not paying an unnecessary arm and a leg. They will also drop you off and pick you up if service will take any extended period of time. This has been helpful on more than one occasion because hanging out in the waiting area at the auto repair for hours is not my idea of a fun time. When I was searching for a used vehicle to replace my truck Daniel was kind enough to go to LA and inspect the CR-V I was considering. He gave it his approval and I purchased a safe and reliable vehicle. Unfortunately it was totaled 2 years later when some guy decided my vehicle was a better method for stopping his truck than using the break. All of our family cars get repaired at KC Auto, and I have referred many of my close friends who also get their vehicles serviced there. They have always gone above and beyond our expectations and therefore they have more than earned our loyalty as customers. I have been using Yelp! for months and this is my first review, because I got excellent, honest and kind service, and this guy deserves a great review. My car wasn't accelerating right one day, so I just went to the nearest repair shop by my work place. Daniel checked my engine and checked the transmission fluid, and since he didn't carry it, he called the closest Nissan dealer and told them I was going to come and pick it up. Daniel told me to come back so he could put the fluid in and take it for a test drive. So, I got the transmission fluid for ~$7, came back, Daniel did his thing and after the test drive, the car went back to normal. He said that everything was pretty much alright, the car didn't need anything done to it. He even tried to explain why the car performed the way it did. I asked how much I needed to pay him, and he said "No charge." NO CHARGE! I couldn't believe my ears. I took up at least 45 mins of his time. I don't usually carry any cash with me, I was guilty for not even leaving any tip. I'm sure to repay him by going back to his shop for any repairs and referring everyone I know to this guy!!! read more

My family and I have been patrons of KC Auto for all our maintenance needs, from tire rotations to service checks,.for probably 2 decades or so. They are honest, hard working people that really care about their customers. While they may not have the cleanest facilities or high tech amenities for their guests, KC Auto does the job right the first time, quick and easy, and for the right price. KC Auto will never try to upsell you or make you buy things you don't necessarily need. It is a Korean-owned operation but they speak English, Korean, and Spanish. To make the long story short, I went to see Daniel (owner) based on good reviews from Yelp to ask him for quick check of my radiator, hoses and fan belts of my 98 4Runner. He was about to heat up his lunch in the microwave as I asked him to check out my car. I told him that I can wait until he finishes his lunch, but he said he has to go to pick up his customer right after lunch and it is okay to do a quick check now. He checked my tires, radiator, hoses, fan belts, brake pads, oil, transmission oil, battery and even listened to the sound of my car's engine and spent good 15 minutes and told me that my vehicle is in excellent condition as it has been taken care of. I asked him how much I should pay him and he said "don't worry about it and have a nice trip" with a smile. This guy sure is nice and honest as I have read in the Yelp review. I went to K &C auto today because I was told that I should flush my radiator, replace 2 hoses and replace 3 fan belts for $413 at the Shell gas station in Irvine near my house, to confirm if the service advice I got from them was valid or not as I didn't get a warm & fuzzy. My suspicion was confirmed as I had no need to spend over $400 to get the recommended work done after all. I will be sure to come to K & C Auto, the next time I need any work done on my Toyota. The dealership quoted me almost $1,000 in repairs! I brought it to K.C. Auto Service and he was able to tell me what was important and what can be fixed later on. The biggest component of my bill was to get the spiral cable fixed which prevented my airbag and any steering wheel component from working correctly. He bought the part, which was directly from toyota and therefore with the warranty and fixed it immediately! Very happy with the service received and will definitely be coming back! read more

As a female, I know many dealers will try to rip you off bc they think you don't know about car standards and prices, but Daniel, I believe is his name, is always so kind and helpful. I went there early Saturday morning and this friendly Korean man inspected my car and told me I could go about 2 more oil changes before needing any break pads changed. Well, I guess this place is nice to everyone but me I wanted to change struts from my lexus. I had all the parts and asked him how much for the labor. Keep in mind this is a very simple task at most 1-1.5 hours of work. He said oh "Lexus" that's expensive to work on, and quoted $400. Haha... $300 an hour for labor because he profiled me as some rich guy driving a Lexus? Only reason I came here was through a referral. Took my car else where and they charged me a normal price of $150. Guess what KC, I told my the person who referred me to you. Appears you may have lost a customer. Here is some advice: Never assume new customers are idiots and always consider that new customers are referrals. Don't profile the Make if a car and think the labor is more expensive than others. The labor should be the same price as all cars, it's the parts that can be expensive (I had the parts you bozo). To swap struts for $400??? read more
