Ended up geting a truck from them, and he wrote in the sales agreement a fix around the exhaust manifold w/o asking - he proactively did it since he knew it was an issue (not one that would "break" the car, but one that could affect mileage). Normally buy new, but wanted a 3rd family vehicle, and by a stroke of luck ended up with them. I'd do business with Dan again and would refer him and this place to others based on my experience thus far.

He said there was a little surface rust there that they painted over to make it look better but that "it was no big deal". After we purchased the vehicle, we took it to our mechanic because of exhaust noise. He said the car was not worth fixing because the underbody was so rusted out. He said the vehicle should never have been sold, that it was unsafe to drive, and worth little more than salvage value. Three body shops have told us the damage is so bad that it cannot be repaired. I contacted Ideal and they said they would work with us to resolve the matter by taking the car in trade. We later saw a vehicle on their lot that we'd be interested in, but when we called we were told they changed their mind and would nothing for us. We're out over $10,000.00 and have a vehicle that is unsafe to drive and is worth little more than salvage value. The damage to the torque boxes and other areas of the underbody was never even mentioned, and the extent of the surface damage to the top of a rocker panel couldn't have been determined because they painted over it. We are now in the process of starting our lawsuit to recover what we can.
