Takes FOREVER to get food. Coffee is a slow go as well even when not crowded, but I'd advise you just avoid tallapoosa as a whole if you're hungry. The whole town just can't seem to get food out the door. read more

There are not too many options in Tallapoosa, so I suggested the coffee shop for lunch one Friday at work. We called in 9 sandwiches at 10:30 to pick up at noon. When we arrived, they were not very nice. We were told we needed to call in an order that size at 8:30! Who wants a warm sandwich at noon that was prepared at 8:30 in the morning? There was no one there when we begin paying for the orders. Then they got upset and told us they were ringing up the rest together to speed up the process. Someone (one person) walked in and they apologized for serving us?? When all was said and done, we got back to the office and they called telling us they forgot to charge us for one sandwich and asked us to come back. I politely told her to take it out of the tip we left ‍ Super rude and ZERO customer service. We will not be ordering from there again for our Friday lunch. This place is a joke! We will never order from them again! We work locally and order out on Friday. Since we like to frequent local small businesses, we thought we would give them a try. We placed the order for 9 sandwiches at 10:30. Not burgers or steaks, sandwiches! Like chicken salad and ham! When two of the ladies went to pick them up at noon, it was a disaster! She (the owner!) scolded them for ordering and told them we were taking away from their costumers!!! Another costumer came in, (the ONLY other costumer in the place) they apologized for us ordering! She pulled one of our ladies aside and told her if we were going to order this much, we needed to call in by 8:00 am!!! They separated a couple of the orders for us to pay then refused to separate anymore, then she had the nerve to call us and say we did not pay for a sandwich! We heard about how horrible the service is before, but we thought we would give them a try. Everything we heard was absolutely true!! The food was okay but not at all worth dealing with the owner! The waitress was on her computer and more interested in that than giving me directions or having a friendly conversation. ehhh. Place had a strange vibe. Mother/son operation? Older woman was stressed ( oddly we were the only customers in there) and flustered when taking our order. She didn't understand that I wanted an iced coffee with extra milk. Sigh. Not a big deal, just not the person who should be greeting the customers. We get our ice coffee and they are totally done wrong. Styrofoam cups? Ice completely melted? Ive worked in many many coffee shops and am embarrassed that they didn't have cold brew ready to go. If you have to make one to order, double strength brew the espresso/coffee and pour over ice to cool... then re-pour into a cup of ice. Simple. But lost on this duo. Bathroom was impeccable, beautiful and clean. Always a plus when you have a potty- training toddler touching EVERYTHING. My husband orders a wrap, (vegan) and that was a lost concept too. Not a big deal, we are in the south, we understand this isn't the norm. They executed the order fine ( the son prepared) . I get out of the restroom with the toddler, and go up to the counter to order a scone for the little human... "when was the scone made?" I asked the son, he replied "this morning / last night" lie. These are at best three days old. That truly upset me the most, be honest. Scone was sub par- cheap ingredients ( no butter, soft edges ( due to age) and over all bleh) At almost 3 bucks, I would expect a "morning of" scone, with real ingredients. I go to pay with my card, and instead of saying "cash only for orders under $5) the son points to the sign. Find that a little rude, but whatever. I have cash so I pay. We sit at the coffee table and couches ready to eat and my husband points to a sign stating "no food at this table" again odd. We decide to leave and eat in our car. Overall felt like the older woman/ mom was calling the shots at her son's spot. Her beading and craft area was set up, she was the one frantically taking orders and the signs stating where and where not to eat reminded me of my grandmother's home. The only thing missing was the plastic seat covers over the couch. Tl;dr overall OK . Poorly executed coffee, Odd vibe, not overly welcoming. read more

Worked here for 12 years off and on with my mother and grandmother. Full disclosure. I have been to coffee shops from Miami to Manhattan and there is no coffee shop more cozy and unpretentious as my mother's place. Tallapoosa has the friendliest faces in the USA and there are many local landmarks, but K&M is the entry point where you're sure to run into everyone, like the city's guardian angels (Tommy and Mrs. Renee), resident LEOs, the mayor... the list goes on. It saddens me when belligerent passersby are rude to my family, especially my grandmother, but all-in-all, Tallapoosa's K&M is the perfect meeting spot for the community I believe to be the nation's finest. read more

Before Interstate 10, you had to take highway 78 from Atlanta to Birmingham. On a slow day just for curiosity, I decided to drive a little of that route towards the Alabama border. Witnessed a cute little high school parade in Bremen Georgia and eventually terminated my westward drive in Tallapoosa. While walking through town spotted K&M Coffee shop. Going inside was the coolest experience. You almost think that you'd walked back in time. Nice old photographs on the wall and a beautifully stained wooden floor. Chairs, bar stools, sofas, all were there for your seating pleasure. The owner's son was knowledgeable and friendly. All I had was a tea and a sweet snack, but the price was real reasonable. Think of a starbucks, without the large, loud, crowd chattering away, yet in a homey, woodsy kind of atmosphere. Then would be my number one spot for tea and coffee, if it were closer. read more

I live in New York City, and I am not from this area. I stumbled upon this cute little cafe during my travels, and it was incredible. Their mochas taste like drinking an espresso brownie. Their sandwiches and wraps can be made with regular, pesto, or chipotle mayo. I had the Club wrap with pesto mayo. Absolutely delicious. Traveling down I-20, I needed a quick detour offering Wi-Fi and a caffeine jolt. What I found was a hidden gem of a coffee shop. From what I can gather, it's a family-run business, and the family was extremely kind and generous to me. The coffee was exactly what was needed, and the homemade peanut butter pie is a must. The location is right alongside a railroad, and the quaint charm of the town meshes wonderfully with the trendiness of the coffee shop. Will be back if ever in the area. read more

I grew up in Tallapoosa, and I haven't been a resident there in many years. But I still go home to visit my family, and I make sure to stop by K & M Coffee at LEAST twice on every visit. How cool is it that a sleepy southern town can have a high-end, high-quality coffee shop? The sandwiches are just as tasty. I often have the iced mocha freeze or the peanut butter mocha freeze. The owners are lovely people, and so very kind to everyone. They remembered me when I came back months later after my first visit! I give them a 5-star plus rating. read more

I spend way to much money there (I live 4 miles from town) but I very much enjoy the ham and swiss on rye with sweet pickles with crinkle chips and a spear of dill on the side and a glass of tea or coffee. I've tried most of the sandwiches and soups they serve and enjoyed them all...I like the scones and brownies to go...I like to make my own coffee at home but their coffee is excellent...as is the service. K&M has wonderful coffee! Also there sandwich are some of the best sandwich around. The wraps are absolutely delicious. Its the cutest little coffee shop in the best little town. The only reason for four stars and not 5 is the .50 for each extra flavor pump in the coffee, which means two extra pumps is whole extra $1, making my latte almost $6.
