TLDR: they gave me a lottery ticket designed to trick you into thinking you've won a lot when in…read morereality you've won nothing. Received a massive ad flier in the mail that served as a "scratch off lottery ticket" for an event they were putting on. This ticket was probably 13"x17" and covered with all sort of different advertisements designed to be as distracting and nonsensical as possible. Scratched it and it said I "won $2,500 instant cash". Obviously I was skeptical of this so I looked all over for fine print and in the fine print it said "no purchase necessary, match your winning number and claim your prize". Still skeptical I called the dealership to confirm this was legitimate and was responded with "yes this is legit, just come down with the flier and you'll get your prize." So I drove an hour to their dealership, sat down with one of their salesmen, filled out some paperwork and suddenly he walks out with a board that's got different numbers than what's on my scratch off. Finds a random, different small print section that wasn't on the "scratch off" part and says "this is my 'real' winning number" and matches it to his board. With the "real" winning number the most I would walk out with is a $5 chick fila gift card. It cost me more in gas to get to the dealership than the card was worth. After being Obviously upset, an "event specialist" walks over and attempts to explain how it works trying to read the fine print to me as if I didn't already do that myself. She kept saying that it's a "marketing strategy" and when I said it's not marketing it's called deceit she got mad and walked off. In what world is the number you literally scratch off on a lottery ticket not your winning number and how am I expected to know there's this magical second smaller number hidden on the page. Had they explained that when I CALLED TO CONFIRM I would have no issues but they clearly don't care. If a business has to lie just to get you in the door imagine what they're doing to get you to buy something. I would highly recommend not doing business with folks who show such little concern for honestly especially when conducting business in the 10s of thousands dollars.

Within a minute or so while entering my information, I received a call from Ryan Flanagan (lady) who stated that she was from Honda and wanted to find out what type of vehicle I was trading and what I was looking for. I told Ryan that I must have inadvertently entered my information into the wrong area as I wasn't interested in trading my car at this time and I apologized for the misunderstanding. I also told Ryan that I was trying to schedule an appointment for my inspection. Ryan said no problem and she would schedule the appointment for me, which she did. Ryan was very pleasant, patient, understanding, accommodating, and willing to answer any questions that I had & provide information that she felt I may need without me having to ask. The next afternoon when I arrived at the service department for my inspection appointment and I didn't get the gentleman's name who promptly arrived at my vehicle, and I provided my name, appointment time & what service I required. He promptly arrived at my vehicle, took my fob & returned the key portion to me & drove off. A saleswoman, whose name I didn't get either, approached me in attempts to convince me to trade in my vehicle. I explained that I didn't want my credit checked & I wasn't interested at this time, but I would be in a better position next summer, so that I can get the vehicle that I wanted with all the amenities. She said she wanted to show me what they had in stock & which I looked at. We discussed features & options and she said that she could run some numbers without checking my credit, which she did. Surprisingly enough, when she returned, the numbers looked good, but I informed her that I wanted to wait until the summer so I could work on increasing my credit score to get a lower interest rate & a lower payment. She said that she understood & to let her know when I was ready. While I waited to get my inspection completed, I was greeted by the Finance Manager, Keith Lowery, who introduced himself to me a few months ago during the oil change. Keith stated that he is the one who ran the numbers for the saleswoman & wanted to check in. Keith is very kind, helpful and always has a smile on his face. I saw the GM, Kent Locklear, who is the kindest, helpful & most understanding man you would ever want to meet. As I was preparing to leave, I was also greeted by the gentleman who drives the shuttle, who is always pleasant & accommodating. Amanda is the lady who gave me my paperwork & was helpful in answering any questions that I had. Kent Locklear has the best team of sales and service people at Lumberton Honda and I'm thankful to be a part of the Lumberton Honda Family.
