We were driving through with a U-Haul truck with a trailer. Trailer tire popped on Hwy 10 about 9 pm on a Saturday night. U-Haul contacted them for roadside assistance. Have you every had that "brick in your gut" feeling when you do something stupid? Well, today was my day. I was driving through Texas, 150 miles from nowhere, listening to my favorite tunes without a care in the world when a beep on my dashboard let me know I had only 25 miles to go before I ran out of gas! Holy crab cakes! This is only the 2nd time in my life I've done this and it couldn't have come at a worse time. (Is there any good time for this to happen?) I found the first exit and pulled off the interstate just in time before my car sputtered to a stop. Arghh! Fortunately, I had Good Sam Roadside Assistance and they immediately dispatched K&J Towing to the rescue. One of their drivers, Adam, responded to my call for help. He was polite, courteous, understanding and told me that this type of thing happens in this are quite a bit where gas stations are 75 miles or more apart. Jackie (owner/dispatcher) and Bryan (driver) are the nicest people you will ever meet! Jackie put me at ease as my anxiety ran high while we sat on the side of the road with a broken down F350 dually pulling a 21 foot travel trailer. Bryan came to our rescue and took a few minutes to determine best method before just hooking up. He went out of his way to make certain that he didn't cause any additional damage to the truck as he loaded it on the flatbed using a rolling jack to assist the broken/bent wheel (bent bearing and caliper) then skillfully hooked up the camper behind it. He made a few phone calls to a mechanic in an effort to help us out (we were traveling through Texas on our way home to Michigan and didn't have a clue where to take the truck). Bryan was kind enough to drop off the camper at the hotel then, with the two of us and the truck, drove to the auto mechanics shop for us to see where it was going, then returned us to the hotel! All of this on a Friday night at 8pm. I would give this company 10 stars if it let me! read more

On October 5, 2017,I was headed to Fort Davis, TX on I-10 West towing my 38 foot 5th wheel when my tire pressure monitor system indicated a tire on the 5th wheel was going flat. I immediately pulled over on the shoulder at the bottom of an overpass. Called my AAA Road Service for help. I was about 2 miles East of Balmorhea, TX. AAA called Balmorhea Towing in Balmorhea to help me but they didn't have any drivers available. AAA called another towing company in Sheffield, TX about 110 miles away and the estimated arrival time was two hours. I asked AAA to send out a Highway Patrol or Sheriff vehicle so we could have protection on the roadside at the bottom of the overpass which they did. The Sheriff Deputy gave me the name and phone of K & J Towing also in Balmorhea. I called them and Kevin was there in 15 minutes. I called AAA and cancelled my service request. Kevin immediately went to work and had my spare tire on in no time. He was very friendly and his charge was more than reasonable, only $50. AAA is missing out by not having K & J Towing under contract for roadside service in Pecos County Texas. Hal read more
