I first start communicating with K&D in January about a dishwasher issue that they were going to be fixing via a whirlpool warranty. I was told by Kathy ( the owner ) that they needed to ordered the proper part and that they would contact me was they got the part in. I waited 3 weeks and then made a follow up call when I was informed that they would not be servicing my dishwasher because the warranty company canceled. I then called Kitchenaide and they were confused and told me that they never canceled the work order . I called K &D back and they said they would reorder the part and we set a date of April 7 to have them come and fix my dishwasher. At 12:45 on April 7 I called to make sure they were coming because they haven't shown yet and she informed me they weren't coming and would not be coming????? I was beyond confused she then became rude complaining I was too far and that I didn't answer a call that they made to me to confirm I would be home. after looking through my missed calls I did receive a call from Virginia that I didn't answer because I live in Michigan . If you live on a military installation, do not call this business for service - you will be refused. Today and for the first time in my life, I was refused service because I live on a military installation. I let the business explain why, which came down to one bad experience they had in the past with security at a military installation. After hearing this, I explained that their one time sounded like an isolated incident and for my installation, all they had to do was have their vehicle inspected & present a valid drivers license and insurance. I even cited specific businesses and services who had I coordinated with in the past to come onto my base with zero issues. Despite all of this, there was still no consideration and I was refused. Worse company I have ever dealt with. It was a week from the time the customer service woman call till they could come out. When service tech came, he told me how expensive the replacement motor was and it would take at least three hours. Two days after he came out, customer service woman called. Said part was in and the first appoint was almost three weeks later. Told that day was no good so she set it up for next day. This was though the Dominion Energy maintenance program. Woman not pleasant. K & D not good representation of a company to do work for Dominion. When service tech showed, only the agitator was ordered, not the motor. Would never recommend this company. Does not deserve any stars. Not very professional. Claimed Whirlpool won't read my letter if I send a letter about disappointment in my less than 2 year old refrigerator failure. Came out 3 times, the first fix didn't work and told me parts were on back order until early to mid June. I called Whirlpool and they told me one part was in and the other 2 would be available in 5 days and If I call next week they will give me a tracking number. When I called K & D the owner told me when I called him out on the turn around time on the repair parts he told me Whirlpool "don't know their ass from a hole in the ground". I'm out $350. I'm sorry this is so long winded. But, if you are disabled, please read this. Had Keith come out once prior to perform a warranty claim and he did a great job. Small family business, so I kept them in mind for future. Then, a little over a week later had another unrelated issue. I called our warranty company again and specifically requested K&D. Got a call from Denise and she was difficult from the start of the call. I wasn't prepared for some of the questions she was asking me due to being physically disabled and my husband was the one who pulled dryer out, replaced vent coil, and my husband checked/assessed for any air flow issues prior to placing claim. I was doing the best I could without being able to look at the issue myself because I cannot physically do so. Denise was audibly annoyed that I was asking my husband and then repeating his answers to her. She asked to directly speak with my husband who's responses were the same as mine. Which was fine. But, she continued to tell him that our issue was an "air flow" problem and continued to ask the same questions about assessment of the "air flow) problem. My husband finally asked Denise "Are you going to help us or do we need to call someone else?" Denise then gave us an appointment for 6days later. On the morning of the scheduled appointment it got to be 11am and I hadn't heard anything about when K&D was coming to our home. I called and left a message. I called again an hour later and Denise answered. I asked about the appointment that had been scheduled for that day and she had trouble finding our work order, even chuckled slightly. Then she stated "we cancelled your appointment, your warranty doesn't cover air flow issues". Our issue is not an air flow problem. I asked why no one had contacted us to notify us that they were not coming out and she said "the warranty company was supposed to do that". "We don't notify customers that we get through the warranty company of cancelations". I then asked if they were able to come out and look at the dryer today (as scheduled) and if it happens to be air flow issue I would pay for it out of pocket. I just needed my appliance to work properly and not burn our house down. As there was a burning smell coming from the dryer, which she was told about numerous times. Then for reason unknown to me, our previous conversation upon scheduling was brought up and she commented that I had to ask my husband the questions she was asking me and relay answers. Yes, because I'm disabled and unable to kneel or bend to get to the back of the dryer or even move it to get back behind it. I did get upset when she said this because it was meant to be hurtful in my opinion, it was hurtful. Not something you bring up when a customer calls for a repair of an appliance. In any situation, really, why?? She then put me on hold without telling me she was doing so. I sat there saying "Hello" several times (thinking she hung up on me) then realized I was on hold. When they came back to the phone, her husband (tech) Keith was on the other end. I explained the situation and my reasons for being frustrated and honestly upset and hurt. He says "I don't want to comment about that". I asked him if a customer needs to be reminded of her disability when calling for a appliance claim?? Why do that? That it wasn't called for. Then my husband got on the phone and repeated the same about what we had done to figure out why our dryer isn't working. Again asking if they could come out today and that we would pay for it if the work wasn't covered by warranty. There was no visible "airflow" issue, it seems it's something else that in fact would be covered. He's never inspected the dryer, how can he tell over the phone what is wrong with it? Keith explained that "we are told by warranty company not to call the customer if it's not covered, they should have called you and told you we cancelled the appointment". So, if you are a repeat customer that asks for them directly, it doesn't matter to K&D whatsoever. Keith had been out to our home less than 2 weeks (9days) prior to fix unrelated issue We finally just gave up on K&D. There was no reason for this to have happened like it did and for my physical disability to be brought into the conversation as a talking point on Denise's part. I explained why I couldn't inspect the dryer myself, that should have been the end of it. It was honestly hurtful and totally unprofessional and uncalled for. Please call another small business, NOT this one. UPDATE: Warranty company had another contractor come out to our home. The warranty company stated "we've had issues with K&D before....". Interesting The issue was in fact not an "air flow" problem. It was the "ideler pulley" had become disconnected, which turns the motor. Repairman told me he was surprised it didn't blow fuse or even start a fire. K&D put our safety in jeopardy!! read more

Called to set up appointment and they couldn't come out for 3 weeks. Quoted me $1000 for labor as part was covered by warranty. I said "no thank you" and called sears appliance repair. They only charged $289 for the whole job! You decide. read more

The service professional came out at the specified time, was very personable, quick and exact. I had another problem with my washer not locking and he took care of the issue on request. Worst service ever!!! Made an appointment through Maytag and was giving a time between 9-5. Not wanting to miss a full day of work I called to get the time window down to a 4-hour block, but was told NO. When explained I was loosing money just sitting at home all day, I was told "if you are loosing that much money maybe you should buy anew washing machine". My machine is only 16 months old. HORRIBLE customer service and rude employees. Don't buy Maytag and by all means possible dont use this company! read more

Keith gets 10 stars! Not only fit me in to a busy schedule but he arrived when promised, professionally did complete diagnosis and quickly found problem with fridge icing up. Worthless repairs is all I can say. I waited two weeks for an appt and then had to waste the whole day waiting. Then it took them another 2 weeks to get parts and return. They left saying it was repaired. It wasn't. They can back and said its fixed again. It is not. They also gouged my flooring tipping the machine over to fix it and now will not return to fix it or answer communications. Worst company ever!!!! read more

After reading the few reviews about K&D services I was a lil skeptical about what to expect!!! My concerns were not warranted!!! I am extremely satisfied with this company and it's service!!! Denise was very polite and helpful and, to me, went above and beyond to help and accommodate me!!! John, the serviceman who repaired my washer, was a delight!!! He was friendly, respectful and a joy to talk with!!! And best of all he did an excellent job repairing my washer!!! Please avoid this company! Denise (owner) is rude, started speaking in another language (German), I asked her to translate what she said, and over course she did not. The warranty company sent the service ticket to them on the 7th of March, and again on the 12th, the issue was escalated for our refrigerator. She said they could only get a tech out on the 29th and that would be to just diagnose the issue. The issue was diagnosed by someone else already. She was very rude, unconcerned, stated, why don't you find someone else....trust me I would, if we did not have the warranty. First she said the paperwork was lost or stapled with another client. Then, she came back and said oh the appointment was deleted. And suggested that I didn't have anything else to do with my life but call her. Its a refrigerator, not really something you can do without. She claimed the tech lived in NC and was in Matthews county, which is far away. When I asked if he could come late in the evening or on the weekend, she was not even trying to work with me. Please find someone else or beg your warranty company for someone else. Technician Patrick was courteous,prompt and efficient. As for K&D Services, I would not recomend them to a friend.

Awful, awful, awful. Appointment was made through Whirlpool. The soonest they could schedule me was two weeks down the road. I called the company the same day Whirlpool made the appointment to confirm the appointment and ask to be put on a cancellation list in case they could come sooner. Left voicemail and never heard back. Called back three more times over the course of a week and no one ever answered and there was no option to leave a message. Called back AGAIN the day before they were supposed to come out - left a voicemail. Never heard back. I called the day of my scheduled appointment and the woman who answered the phone was probably the rudest woman I have ever spoken with. She said I wasn't on her schedule, did some checking and then found me and blamed Whirlpool for not scheduling me properly. She also said that she always returns voicemails so she didn't know what I was talking about. After waiting two weeks for my appointment, she said she couldn't send anyone that day but put me on their schedule for the following day. I rearranged my entire week to accommodate this unexpected change. The morning of my second scheduled appointment, I called and spoke with a man and I insisted on getting a window of time when someone would be by to check the dishwasher. He told me I was on the technicians schedule for 1pm but they had a cancellation so he may be by sooner but to expect him between 11am and 1pm and that they'd call when they were on their way. By 4:30pm, I hadn't heard from anyone. I called back and the same rude woman answered. I told her I'd been waiting all day and that I was told someone would be by around 1pm. She said "we never give a time." I said I called this morning and a gentleman gave me that estimate because I had obligations throughout the day and needed a general time frame. She had ZERO sympathy and was not apologetic at all and blamed my location (basically saying I was out of their way in relation to where the other appointments were) and said some jobs take longer than others and they can't anticipate that and that's why they don't give times. I said that I couldn't wait around all day to which she didn't respond at all and just kept saying "let's see," as she presumably checked her computer/technicians schedule. She said she'd call the technician and see where he was and call me back. She called back and said he would be another hour and a half at least before he could get to me (which would put him here at 6pm at the earliest). I said that wasn't going to work for me. She said they could put me on the schedule for the following day - again she claims she couldn't give me a time frame to which I said that was unacceptable. She told me to call back in the morning and she'd have the schedule and could give me a general idea. I called this morning and guess what? No answer. I've called Whirlpool to report this business in hopes that they will stop contracting with them and to tell them that they need to find another company to send because I am DONE with them and wouldn't let the technician inside if he knocked on my door right this minute. Never in my life have I dealt with such a terrible business. read more

Would give this company negative stars if possible. Used these people through whirlpool for warranty work, and work was started at beginning of August and we STILL don't have a a working microwave in the middle of October. They will never give you a timeframe which they will show up, and will just tell you "It will be sometime today" when scheduling occurs so you have to wait all day until they deem it's important enough for you to know. On the most recent service call, the owner of the company Keith came to work on the microwave. He told me pretty quickly his other technician really messed up the wiring throughout the microwave on his last 3 visits and didn't have anything connected in areas and wires hanging and would never work how it was. After 2 hours of troubleshooting, he got off the phone with Whirlpool and indicated he had to come back "Sometime after ordering parts" to continue to work on the microwave. When I asked when he will be back, he told me "Who knows". I told him it was unacceptable and I needed a timeframe as I need to tell work when I cant be there again. He responded I don't know, call my secretary. I told him his customer service was lacking as a business to which he responded "what do you mean, I have been nothing but nice today, I haven't talked to you, I didn't complain about grease on your microwave, I didn't complain about your dumb dogs barking our back, I didn't complain about your baby crying". After he personally insulted my family I asked him politely to stop speaking and pack his bags and leave to which his response was "Your going to regret this" and sarcastically "I hope you have a great day". read more

DON'T EVEN DESERVE 1 STAR! ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE SERVICE. I would not recommend this company to anyone for anything - Never fixed my dryer. K&D Service's repairman replaced the same part (Thermal Sensor) on two different visits without examining the other parts of my dryer. The repairman would replace the thermal sensor, turn the dryer on, immediately shut it off, then leave. Each time my wife went to use the dryer it would shut off after it heated up and would not cut back on. K&D (the owner Keith) refused to come out and fix our dryer a third time when I told him something else had to be wrong with my dryer causing the thermal sensor to break. He refused to fix the problem. My insurance company sent out a different company. Troubleshooting my dryer, the repairman from the new company thoroughly examined ALL the parts in my dryer and figured out the problem. Turns out the Thermostat was bad causing my dryer to continuously run EXTREMELY hot without regulating the temperature causing the thermal fuse to break each time. That is why it immediately broke both times my wife tried to use the dryer after K&D replaced the thermal sensor. Also, because it continued to run extremely hot it also damaged the heating element, which the second repairman replaced. K&D refused to provide me service saying their repairman fixed the problem. Keith (K&D) also accused me of not cleaning our vents saying that was causing the problem although I told him that my vents were recently professionally cleaned. Keith also told my wife to tell me that it wasn't Christmas and he wasn't going to provide me free service. K&D's customer service and attitude is ABSOLUTELY terrible and they don't belong in the customer service industry. Keith and his wife were extremely rude and their phone etiquette needs a lot of work. Oh, by the way, the repairman that fixed my dryer also said that K&D's repairman used the wrong thermal sensor part - go figure! That is indicative of the type of bad service K&D Services provides. read more
