what can I really say about that burger. I really enjoyed it. I got the double with cheese and it was great. I almost had to squish it down a bit to fit in my fat mouth. I went here right when the Crono 19-20 was on a forward movement. I kept seeing this place when going to from one job to another. I was the only person in the lot , went in ordered then waited outside for the burgerness to hit. Must of waited for 15 mins which when hungry seem like longer. When the food came out I thought I should of got a shake too. But next time. When I went to eat the food the cheese was still hot and so were the fries, it had a nice red thick tomato with a nice amount of lettuce. The meat was cooked the way I like . One of the best burgers I've had since I arrived in Washington, it doesn't look like much from the outside but once you step inside the restuarant--the ambience and decor is calm, quiet, and easy to relax in. I ordered a regular cheese burger. Although it wasn't horrible, it was not good. It felt like all the ingredients were old, except the onion. It was very reminiscent of bottom shelf Sysco food. Definitely an A-Okay little place. We went later in the evening and thought we could sit and eat but you can only order and wait in your car for carry out. We ordered the avocado burger, the scallop roll and the beef bulgogi. The latter wasn't bad, but I've had other servings that were much more plentiful and felt a bit more fresh. The roll was definitely different, but not bad. The scallops were small and the roll, since it's Korean, had different ingredients but overall, we enjoyed it. It is located right outside of the base in "Chocolate City" (Yes it's really called Chocolate city) it's barely noticeable if you don't live in the area or pass by there often. When walking in the first thing that I noticed was how clean The joint is. The prices are very reasonable. I think I spent six bucks on a good size cheeseburger that also came with fries. The bun was toasted, The ingredients were fresh, the beef patty was juicy and the sauce on the burger was delicious. The fries were not those cheap crinkle fries. They were the steak fries. Another day I had the chicken teriyaki. The chicken teriyaki order came with rice and a side salad. While the taste of the chicken was delicious, the portion was so small that I thought perhaps my kid had spilled it or was playing a trick on me. No exaggeration. This is the reason that I have 4 stars instead of 5. I was happy with the price of the drinks in the cooler and they have help yourself water for ppl like me who a cold glass of water! We were being fickle in the car trying to pick a place we could access from the freeway but eat in the parking lot with our dog. Low and behold, we found K & C Burkie! Easy to access off the freeway and alongside a small market blasting Mariachi music and a small barber shop. There is plenty of parking in front of the market, a few slots in front of the restaurant, and in front of the barber shop. Frequent customer base and they were not short of cars driving up for takeout from when we pulled in, ate, and as we drove away. Ordered a Hawaiian burger (with chicken), double cheeseburger, and kids burger. All were meals and were accompanied by fries and a fountain drink. Everything came out hot and generously sized! The buns were toasted, veggies were fresh, and meat was nicely grilled and juicy. Even the kid's burger was impressive with all of the fixings. The fries are thick cut (slimmer than steak but thicker than your average fry) and unsalted - which is our favorite. They come with salt packages and ketchup should you need any. My son loves hamburgers and loves trying new places. He saw this place on yelp and insisted we make the drive north 25 minutes from Olympia. Boy, are we glad we did. Wonderful food. It is cooked to order so it is not fast food and there is a wait for your food to be ready. The guy who cooks also runs the cash register and also buses and cleans tables. This is about the best place so far. The burgers are delicious and big too, they all come with French fries. The sushi is fresh and well flavored, not sure what kind of rice they use but it's delicious. The Korean menu is broad and so well done, definitely authentic. I have been here a few times. Must admit that I give three stars because it is a convenient location for us. The food is not bad, but there definitely isn't anything about it that has me coming back for more. In fact, I always feel like the burgers are lacking something...just can't put my finger on it. I have ordered the mushroom burger a few times. The fries are your average crinkle cut. We have tried the teriyaki and sushi, but...I would prefer to get that elsewhere. They do have a little of this and a little of that on the menu. I haven't been tempted to try out everything. AMAZING. I got the Ichiro Roll (tempura california roll) and a side of gyoza. My boyfriend got the mushroom burger and a side of fries. The sushi was to die for! Five days later and I'm still thinking about it! The gyoza were delicious as well. The burger was thick, juicy, and delicious. According to my very picky boyfriend, the homemade sauce they use was incredible. The fries were a tad flavorless, but not disappointing. I'll be honest, the place looks a little sketchy and the menus are hand-written, but I've found that hole-in-the-walls usually have the best food, and K & C Burkie was no exception. I called in our order and the food was ready in less then ten minutes. Feeding my 6'4" boyfriend and I for less than $20 is hard to do, but this place nailed it! My son got a chili cheese dog, which was equally huge & tasted good, but we had asked if there was onions in it & were told no...he bit into a big chunk of onion & wouldn't eat anymore. But there was definitely a slight language barrier, the man at the counter would point to the one laminated menu they had with descriptions of items anytime I asked about an item & repeat what I said, so that may have something to do with the onions snafu. Great burgers close to base. If you work on McChord and have never tried them you should take your next lunch there. The burgers are great, all their varieties. My favorite is the pineapple one and my wife likes hers regular. The regular cheese burger tastes so much better than classic In-n-Out and have since dethroned them in my mind. Popped in because of Yelp reviews. Our burgers were HUGE and so tasty. I asked them for a Double cheeseburger except substituting bolgogi for a Patty. That was an AWESOME burger that must have weighed a pound. They should add it to the menu and call it "Vic Style". Can't go wrong with it. Love this place. The only thing to improve would be to do a better job cleaning the condiment bottles and salt/pepper shakers which all had a grimey feel when picking them up. They put lots of fresh veggies, they don't skimp on the jalapeños either. Fries where fresh and fried perfectly, they are thicker, not soggy or undercooked at all.
