I called today to inquire about puppy training, and got a lady who was apparently too busy to speak to me. She said that the lady who does the training is named Margaret, she spat out the number without even asking if I was ready to write it down. Then was like ok bye...? Wow! Not a good first impression. If she is too busy to talk about her company or even ask me a few questions about my dog and what exactly we need, then they are wayyy too busy for training a dog of any kind, let alone a 4month old puppy. read more

K9 Playtime has a lot of caring employees who genuinely enjoy what they do because they genuinely love dogs. However, some dogs who are confrontational with other dogs are kept all day in kennels, versus being denied because the dog doesn't get along with other dogs. A larger malimute, Tank, was often kenneled, as well as an extremely high energy Jack Russell who was always kenneled and would only be taken out before his owner arrived for the illusion of being active all day. I do not have any association with anyone that works there, however I have had 2 dogs there, spent a lot of time myself there and am observant. It's a great place to keep your well behaved animals, but if your dog is iffy with other dogs, I wouldn't spend money to keep my dog kenneled. read more

Just recently moved from out of state and my 5 year old dog is still adjusting. Found this place, which is similar to the dog-day-care/boarding I had been sending my dog to back at home. Tried out the day camp and will continue to bring my dog back. Facility is clean with friendly staff. I picked up my dog from the day camp and she was the happiest and relaxed she's been since our move. We will definitely continue to utilize their services. read more

K-9 Playtime provides daycare in a big warehouse size space. One section for high energy play and another for mellower dogs. When I drop him off, my dog is always happy to see each person that works there. He can't wait to get to daycare. I have boarded him a couple of times and he seemed good with it. I have not been to any of the training but I have heard great things. K-9 Playtime also offers bath, nails and ear clean a couple of days a week. Quality food and treats are available and various doggy accessories are available. Not cheap but definitely worth it for such a clean well-staffed place with great people working there. read more

This place is like our family. My husband has had several serious surgeries over the past year and they have been very caring and loving to us and our dog. Our beagle goes here to play several times a week and the staff is worth their weight in gold. They work very closely with the dogs to socialize them and get them used to each other, that is a fine science and I have never had a bad experience here in 3 years. They also do bathing and dog walking during my dog's overnight stays. Marla and staff you are my angels and truly lifesavers during my husbands many surgeries, meeting me at the door with my pet on very bad days. read more

I still would recommend them for daycare, however not for boarding. I rarely travel without my dog, but found a need today. I used to be able to drop him off in the afternoon and pick him up the next afternoon, for $55 (25 for night and 30 for day of play). Now the cost has raised to $95. That can either be due to the late fee for check in after 11 am (new policy), or having to pay for two days play, depending on how you work it. Either way, what was once my go-to, and my boy's favorite, is now a rip off. Cheaper for me to get a pet friendly hotel room than stay at my allergic friend's house. read more

We take our dog here once a week for doggie daycare. She loves it so much that she can't wait to get out of the car and inside to play with the handlers and her dog pals. When we pick her up at the end of the day, she eats and goes to sleep, completed exhausted from running around all day. We've also used them for grooming (she smelled fantastic and was super soft), overnights (she had a blast and they took great care of her and updated us while we were away), and training (the positive reinforcement method has been great for her). I really appreciate how much they care for their clients and all of their services are top notch. read more

I have been bringing my my dog Tank here for a a few years. I never have to worry about him there, because he gets terrific care from Marla and her staff....and he get to play with other dogs who are matched by temprament. I know he loves K-9 because he gets excited when we we get there, and he runs real fast to the door- He is never in hurry to leave. This place is the best! Bow-Wow! read more

Marla and her staff are the greatest thing since sliced bread. I have dropped my dog there 3 days a week for over 2 years now. All I do is call about 4-5 minutes ahead, and someone comes out to my car and gets Dannie, then I call 4-5 minutes ahead at the end of the day, and they bring Dannie out to my car! When Dannie needs bathing and a nail trim, she always comes out after smelling like heaven! I would never even consider bringing Dannie any where else! read more

If I could give a zero, I would. I called to inquire about this facility for a new prospect for my dog. I am a very friendly person and was extrememly polite to a woman who answered. I leave my dog at least twice a month for work travel and it is really important to me that he is in good care. I spoke with a woman who was so horribly rude to me. I inquired about availability and for additional info as I would be a new client. I was told to hold on because she was on the other line. I proceeded to hold as I could hear her on a personal call. She then came back and asked what I needed. I repeated myself asking for information on their services to which she replied "what is it you want to know"and "have we seen your dog". Obviously my dog has not been there as I had let her know twice at this point that we would be new clients. I repeated for a 3rd time that I was interested in boarding and daycare-was promptly cut off saying "we don't call it that". It was like pulling teeth to get any information at all. I would assume when a loving pet owner calls and asks about a facility that they are trusting their pets to they would give a bit more of a warm and fuzzy feeling if they wanted to care for a member of your family. I asked a few more questions and got short and rude responses. Obviously I did not choose to board because if this individual was this rude to me, who knows how she treats animals when no one is there. POSITIVE POINT-I CALLED PAMPERED PUPS OF LIBERTYVILLE FOLLOWING AND THEY WERE SO FRIENDLY AND MUCH LESS EXPENSIVE. SPOKE WITH LYNN AND HAVE NO DOUBT THAT MY PUP WILL BE WELL TAKEN CARE OF. read more

I like this place and my dog always seems to be happy to go. I drop him off on the way to work around 8am and pick him up after work around 6pm. Once we get home and he's cooled down, I give him dinner and he's out for the evening. I like that he gets to socialize with other dogs in a safe, supervised place and its also good that he and the other dogs must always be up to date with vaccinations. The facilities are exceptionally clean. They have a groomer there as well and I take advantage of it for things like nail trims and anal gland emptying. I only took off one star because even with the package deal, the price for daycare is a bit higher than other places he went to when we lived elsewhere. The staff is very friendly and they truly seem to enjoy their job, which sets my mind at ease when I'm leaving my precious baby in their care. All in all, I'd definitely recommend K9 Playtime for daycare and grooming! read more

This place that marlatries to run is horrible. Not only is she rude but assesses your dog (supposedly), playing some GOD she tells you after she assesses the dog he was approved and the prices. "Oh boy, Marla agrees with the way our dog was trained........like shes somebody to assess any animal) We had an opportunity to get to know a few of the employees and each one has little or nothing good to say about Marla. Real good for the moral!!!! After a few months Marla must of been having a bad day but told us our dog didnt interect good with the other animals and told us she didnt want him back!! She supposedly assessed him a couple of months earlier and their were no problems? The one thing good about this place is there are several employees that are exremely nice and caring bur have no use for Marla. I must say she did train them well to lie on the phone when you asked to speak to her. She was sick today, she had to leave early for an appointment, she was on vacation, they have not seen her yet today etc. I would NOT even consider having anything to do with this place..... you be the judge. Get to know the employees, you will find out for yourself what they think of her and how they are treated. GOOD LUCK!! If you love your animal, DON'T consider this over priced pit!! read more
