JWM Neurology has MANY neurologists within their practice. They all travel around and practice within these remote locations. In the last 24 years, I have been a patient of 4 or 5 different neurologists with JWM and have always been pretty pleased with the care that I've received from my actual neurologist. My only reasons for changing providers thru the years have been for things like moving or needing a provider that could fit with my schedule. My current neurologist, Dr Edward Zdobylak, listens to me, validates my thoughts and concerns and has listened to me from the start about what works for me and what doesn't. Some visits have felt a bit rushed, so I started making a list of things to discuss beforehand. That has helped tremendously. Currently, Botox for migraines has been working extremely well as a preventive for my chronic migraine. I'm typically sent to the Carmel location for my Botox injections to be able to keep to the 12 week schedule and maximize my migraine relief. The same medical assistant frequently does my injections for me, and I do really like her. She is friendly, personable and remembers me and things we've discussed previously. Office staff is friendly and welcoming. If they aren't busy, they often make chatter while getting your paperwork and such wrapped up. The Carmel location doesn't have free Wifi and my cell service is terrible in this building. Thankfully they have never left me waiting more than 15 minutes. My only real complaint is the struggle to get timely responses to refill requests. 9 times out of 10, it takes calling my doctors assistant twice within 3/4 days to get a response and then a refill sent. It has been like that consistently for the 3 years that I've been with Dr Zdobylak. I've complained a few times and nothing changes. So I've just accepted it for what it is because I don't want to change neurologists. I thought possibly the issue may be with the way the doctors travel about, but I used the Anderson location for many years and never had this issue. read more

JWM Neurology is too large of a medical group to efficiently take care of patients. Their response time is very poor and at times non-existent. Many doctors have too many patients to remember them from appointment to appointment, let alone their specific needs. They rely on appointment notes instead of getting to know the patient themselves. They loose test results and don't pay attention to medication dosages. Unfortunately, many patients are just another number and not seen as individuals. I have been dealing with them for over 15 years with my husband, father and now my daughter. If you can find someone outside of the JWM group, I would go with them instead. read more

The two doctors I have seen seem great, but the way the practice is ran overall is horrible. Too many patients and not enough doctor's. My doctor does not return messages on the portal. Trying to get seen or communicate with your doctor seems impossible. Takes 3-4 months just to get an appointment. Do better!!! read more

Would give negative five stars if I could. Worst experience I've EVER had with a medical provider. Sent me for an MRI and then never contacted me to go over the results or next steps. Then when I was billed, I couldn't get them to return may calls to discuss. I didn't feel they should be paid until I received my results. Rather than call me to discuss, they just sent my bill to a collection agency. I can't imagine how they could manage their practice any worse if they tried. read more

I had a rescheduled and rescheduled again appointment that happened to the biggest snowstorm in our area just days before. I confirmed my three times by telephone also paid my $50. Co-pay only to show up and find the offices closed I assume due to weather. At 71 I made it to the office just to find the doors closed no text no call here. It is two weeks later. No text no call. I would not recommend this practice for my dog. Very poor customer service impossible to get into for months. read more

I agree with all the 1-star reviews. I would give a -5 also if it was available!!!! DO NOT Use JWM!!!!!! Their front staff is inept and does not return calls of keep you informed. They are also many times downright rude. I had a similar experience with my now deceased wife; she had a brain MRI which identified metastatic brain cancer. 3 months later we learned this from her ENT that she had it. NOT JWM, their excuse was her Dr. was on vacation when the results got back to them and they were misplaced. WTF! DO NOT USE JWM unless you are passing by and need to use their restroom. I have been with JWM Neurology for a number of months, Although I can recommend the physician, their office staff is disorganized, inefficient, and quite frankly inept. The doctor's medical assistant never returned three separate phone calls with messages left for her. Four different patient portal messages were never returned. As a migraine patient, I have given up trying to work with JWM, and have officially thrown in the towel, and I am going to seek the services of an alternate provider. Fire your office staff and your medical assistants. Clean house and start completely over. Reboot, and for the love of anything answer messages when they are left. You do not have a corner on the neurology market. There are alternate practices. read more

I have a serious debilitating condition. I had to wait 3 months for my first appointment & when I got there the doctor canceled all of his appointments for the rest of the day!! I then had to wait weeks longer to get into someone much further away from home. The office staff seemed very uncaring. Not friendly at all. They dropped the ball on a couple of referrals they were suppose to make. I've had to wait days and days for medication changes! I now have to wait 3 more months to get into the next doctor up the ladder. My actual doctor was very sweet and took the time to explain things to me. That's the sad part, the horrendous access to good doctors. I am now going somewhere else and got in in 2 weeks!! read more

The doctor was great. He told us he was going to put STAT on an MRI for our daughter who was involved in a car accident where her car flipped upside down and he has concerns. He also told us that it probably wouldn't get scheduled because his own office staff was incompetent. When you call the office no one answers and the same number goes to all of the offices. Please, see literally any other doctors. This has been the worst group of doctors I've ever dealt with (Though specifically Dr. Cousin was the most problematic). Every member on staff is awful. Went in for one issue and they refused to focus on or even attempt to treat it and only wanted to focus on the fact that I had migraines or a condition that had already been treated and no longer needed treatment. Had MRIs and Xrays done, they somehow lost the Xrays and I had to get them redone. I see too many doctors to remember where I got them done the first time and couldn't figure out where I got them since I went where they sent me and it wasn't my any of usual places, but they claimed I didn't get them through and so couldn't tell me. Ignored the results, and told me it wasn't a big deal and they would just monitor it. I am now seeing a different doctor and am only just now being treated for this issue nearly 2 years later. It was something treatable and linked to the issues I actually went in for. Doctor Cousin noticed I lived in a certain area, though my actually location is basically between their offices, and asked if I wanted to go to the other one. She kept insisting, so I finally agreed. She never once told me that she would no longer be seeing me and I was being sent to a different doctor within their network. I never actually saw this doctor and was only ever seen by their nursing assistant (Karen Griffin). She was the only one on staff who was ever pleasant, but was ultimately never very helpful. Everyone else acted like talking to me was some huge inconvenience. No one will explain anything to you, even if you ask them to repeat themselves or explain you don't understand the medical terminology. I always confirmed my appointments when scheduling. I used to put them in my phone and confirm them there in the office, like I do at every other doctor I see, but would still have appointments changed without any sort of contact. I would never find out about this until I showed up and discovered I had either missed the appointment or it was at a later date. I started getting printouts as well as entering the information in my phone. It did not help. I also have a name I prefer to be called instead of my legal first name. The staff were apparently so offended by this I could hear them complaining about it to each other while in the waiting room, as could probably every other person out there. My information was fine before this, but after this, my name, emergency contacts, and PC were all different/outdated and they refused to change it. I was always polite. I do not use specific pronouns, but can only assume that there are multiple people at this office are transphobic or otherwise anti LGBTQ+ since I do not use a name normally associated with my gender. I have not seen these people in roughly two or three years, but everything that happened there has delayed any sort of actual help I could be getting. read more

I have waited since April to have an MRI scheduled. In April I was told it would take 21 business days for my insurance to approve. After 30 business days I called to follow up and they apologized they were missing a piece of paper and for me not to worry it would be taken care of asap. I received a letter from my insurance that stated JWM filed for my MRI under my son's name. I have sent patient portal messages, called the office 6 times. Talked to two individuals that said they would make sure it was taken care of and I would be called back. I still haven't heard a word and it's now been 3 months. I've been a patient of Dr Herman's for about 8 yrs & He's incredible & is always up to date with latest MS therapies. I've seen him & his PAs @ multiple locations. I was started to get frustrated bc messages left weren't always sent to Dr after I called HOWEVER about 8 mos. ago I began using online portal thru JWM & it's changed everything bc I leave messages directly to dr & get a response directly. My experience with the practice started out great, but has gone down hill over the last few months. In the last 30 days, I have reached out SIX times (between voicemails and the portal) and haven't received a call back. It's becoming painfully (no pun intended) clear, that this practice has grown too large and can't keep up with the patients they have. I have reached out to my referring doctor and asked to switch practices. If I could leave 0 stars I would. I had a test done through CHNw, referred by a Community MD and was never told JWM was involved by JWN staff, so they never asked for insurance info. JWM then billed an old insurance card and of course it was denied and did not inform me of this until a year later after I called and left several messages confused as to why I had bill from them. AND I had to pay 800 before the test and have no idea what they used that money for now. Now they know they are in the wrong and offering a measly 30 percent discount for their fault and still charging me almost $700. Would not recommend. So very disappointed and frustrated. As someone who works in the health industry, I get the fear of Covid; it's not a hoax and can be very serious for some. I also get some doctors rule of 1 person in the exam room. However, when that patient is in stage 4 cancer, on chemo, at times has chemo brain and now a stroke-exceptions have to be made. That being said, I'm disappointed in the "care" my husband received. The visit was over way too fast and I know my husband didn't ask the questions he normally would have or should have-or better yet, the ones I would've asked. He said the doctor spoke really fast and he didn't understand him. There are days I wanna clown and be a Karen, however, my level of stress would get me arrested-never a good thing....if you've ever been a caregiver, you might be able to concur and if you haven't, count your blessings. read more

RUN FAR FAR AWAY from JWM Neurlogy. I've gone there for a few years for chronic migraine. If you use JWM, be prepared for these things to happen frequently. You will have a confirmed appointment, arrive on time on the scheduled day, and be told they 'moved your appointment because we had a heavy day. You just have to reschedule.' You will call for 2-3 weeks when you need a medication refill. You will never talk to a real person. You will regularly run out of medication because their office policy is Never Return Calls. You will get a voice mail from an agitated staff member who is quite upset because she can't find your biopsy. You have never had a biopsy of any kind. Your calls back to them go unanswered. You will arrive for two scheduled procedures only to be told they will not do either procedure because both are scheduled on the same day. They picked the dates/times, not you. A re-schedule is not available for another month. On a Friday, a human calls you from JWM. You ask if you need a negative COVID test and are told definitely not, all is set. On the next day, you arrive at the office and are barred from entering because you have no COVID results. You will finally get through to someone in scheduling, only to be told they cannot see appointments. Seriously, DO NOT GO HERE. My provider is nice but they make it way too hard to be a patient. read more

Do not go here for pediatrics. My child has seizures. We we got the pediatric neurologist. We got in relatively quick about a month later. He said that he had symptoms of seizures. But didn't give any medicine. He still had seizures. It took a ER visit before we got on any medicine. They were to call for an over night EEG. A week later nothing. We called his assistant and nothing. Called the office and they were supposed to call back in 24 hours and nothing. BIG RED FLAG!! They called and scheduled a 3 night eeg the doctor only called for an over night. They sent us to community for scheduling and even they couldn't get their act together. One day they had an order and the next one would say they don't. We finally got a hold of the office manager and they do the EEG IN HOUSE! so why send us to community hospital?! We began to call every day just to get them to help us. 3 WEEKS LATER his assistant called back and said she didn't do that scheduling but on all the paperwork she died and every time we called and asked for someone to schedule us we were sent to her voicemail every time so she LIED to us. So she sent us to office manager again who finally sent in the correct order. It took 3 WEEKS people. And over a week for a RETURN call. Please don't waste your time. They really need to get a better system of communication. They need to hire dependable assistants who have the empathy to return calls and set up appointment and not let parents get to the point where they are crying because they can't get any help. The doctors are good I'm sure but the whole system is HORRIBLE. Once I called the pediatrician back for a new order for a new doctor and told her my experience she said she was not surprised as many parents and I'm sure patients have difficulty with JWM. read more

I went and saw Dr.Josephson because I had neurological problems and STILL have them. He sent me to get expensive tests done including lumbar puncture etc. After all test results he told me I am HEALTHY as a 20 year old and my test results were FANTASTIC. Do you really think someone who has constant headaches on one side of their head and numbness in hands and unable to control sometimes bowel could be a healthy person?? Well that's what he told me! During my visits seeing him in his office, first visit he simply was yawning the whole time I was talking to him. That's the first... never seen a doctor yawn during patient's visit. My 3rd visit he made me wait for more than 1.5 hours!! I went with my mother and we almost walked away. I arrived 10 min before my SCHEDULED time and he made me wait for 1.5 hours without any explanation or anything. That's just plain rude and unprofessional. After my mother started asking staff around "where is he and when is my daughter going to be seen ?" then they told us he was "running late". Keep in mind that if YOU are late, like 10 minutes they will charge you $100 for being late. They have it written in their office so if you go there pay attention to their policy! After my visit when he told me that I am healthy as a horse and I told him "but I have all these symptoms", he asked me "well what do you want me to do?" um..... I don't know YOU are the doctor not the other way around. He also during that visit invited a nurse practitioner who was making dumb faces and laughing hysterically.....I think I am paying for her stupid laugh too. His practice sent me an $1800 bill that I am still paying!! I called his office at one time when I missed a payment because I had very sudden episode of neurological disorders. He did not even bother talking to me on the phone but told his office rep what to say. He also refused to see me due to me missing that month's payment and I had to pay over the phone with my credit card and then he'd hear about my problems but again like I said did not talk to me directly. The communication was done through his assistant. He also refused seeing me and told me that I need to talk to my family doctor about my problems. We have had a terrible experience here. My husband was in the hospital At the end of July/ early August. they referred him here to get his follow up appt and said he needed an MRI to see if his swelling from his condition had went down. At his appt, the doctor said he couldn't get my husbands records, didn't care about getting an MRI and basically just made him walk in a straight line and poked him a couple times before clearing him to go back to work ( which he does on the roof with power tools ). THEN we gave them his disability papers, which was in September 4th and they told us that a lady named courtney would fill them out and send them to my husbands work. They still have not been filled out and faxed, we've left over 20 voicemails and even left one for the office manager and have received one call back, 3 weeks ago, saying that they were sent to their " copying service " to be filled out and faxed. We never got a call back from the manager and haven't received any updates. Horrible service. It's now been over a month that my husband could of already been getting paid his disability. read more

I wouldn't even leave one star if I were able. I wish I would've looked here before diving in and becoming a patient. The doctor is fantastic, but not worth the hassle of the office staff. The office manager was as rude as the employees answering the telephones. Very unprofessional. Argues with patients and hangs up on them. Schedules appointments and then cancels them without calling you and letting you know. I've wasted a day from work over their inability to provide mediocre patient care. Hold times are entirely way longer than they should be. It can't be blamed on Covid. I've been a patient for four years and I've been Hoping things would change. They never did. I left with a worse headache due to their weak business processes, poor attitudes, lack of helpfulness, lame communication and listening skills, and general arrogance that they exhibit.
