On my last visit I got a balayage, toner, cut and style by the owner Malina who did such a phenomenal job on my hair that I can't stop staring at it 24/7. Just take a look at the photos I've attached for visual proof. The ladies at Gamme understand what it takes to make a salon experience fantastic - they take their time to get it right and make sure your hair stays healthy after the treatments so you stay looking fabulous between appointments. I can't say enough good things about this place... It is run but an ambitious, dedicated, inspiring lady boss (Malina) who has a hardcore loyal clientele (no wonder!) and is in my opinion a visionary and avant-garde leader for the Montreal hair scene. Even wrote down the haircut I wanted in French so there would not be any communication issues. They ruined my hair with layers when I did not ask for it. Not only did they ruin my hair with choppy layers but also the customer service is terrible ! I couldn't stop crying after my haircut and first visit and the owner Sam reached out to me asking for me to go visit again. He wanted to "fix" my haircut and I went on the same day as I appreciated the gesture. There was NO APOLOGY whatsoever . I got soaked in the rain the second time I went (as it was raining) . Sam started lecturing me on the fact that I'm young, my hair will grow back etc . They did not even offer some hot water or anything. There are two owners . One is a woman and the other is a man named Sam. The woman gave me a haircut and she chopped everything off! I said I did not want conditioner and she kept saying I need it. Also, I didn't want layers she gave me layers. I wrote it down in French, exactly the haircut I wanted but she refused to read it. Sam refused to apologize for any of this- my discomfort, the time I spent visiting them the horrible haircut. According to him, it was not horrible. They said I was lucky to get to sit on their chair. I never met such arrogant and self obsessed hair dressers. Never visit them again. Avoid at all cost if you care about your hair. Now I have a choppy cheap chair it. Sam didn't have a curve scissors to adjust the layers. They are not well educated in the hair space at all. Worst haircut of my life. It will take years before my hair grows back. Worst ever!!

Sona is so talented! I went in feeling tense and came out exhilarated. She worked all the pressure points and somehow knew exactly where it hurt. She gives receipts as well, which is nice for insurance. She's such a nice person too. I really felt comfortable with her. My only regret was not having asked for a longer massage. I will have to go see her again. Keep up the good work Sona!

I've been here a few times and my stylist dresser was not bad. (Not amazing in terms of hair…read morestyling, but very friendly and it was enough that I kept coming back.) I just called to make an appointment. The receptionist who answered didn't really speak English. I'm trying hard to learn French since I moved here, but it's a struggle. We both tried, but she eventually said "just a minute", put me on hold (presumably to get someone else), and then a couple minutes later the line was disconnected. It might have been a mistake, but I had similar difficulties before. I feel like an inconvenient customer for them, so I figure I will do both parties a favour and go elsewhere. I should add that my boyfriend has been coming here for years and really likes it. Frankly, it's my own fault for living in Ahuntsic and the Ontario government's fault that I failed to learn French. It's a nice enough salon, but if you're in my situation, you might have an easier time elsewhere.
