For me there has been this void in the Coachella Valley for good Texas Style barbecue that never made sense to me. But Just Smoke BBQ now filled that emptiness for me and filled my belly with TONs of delicious meats. The brisket shines with how simple it is. Salt, Pepper, Smoke letting the beef speak for itself. The complexity in simplicity always amazes me with brisket. The pork belly burnt ends are literally pieces of meat candy that melts into your mouth. The highlight for me. Oh but the habanero barbecue sauce also hits hard. This is the second sauce this week that I can just drink. It's slightly spicy but the perfect amount that balances with the rib glaze or the fattiness of the brisket. I only got one side because the pure volume of meat I got and I think I picked the winner. The smoked Mac and cheese. It's worth the Lacoste intolerance. I have a drive ahead of me so I had to stop but otherwise I would fully embrace the pain for that Mac. It seems the press also heard about the food here and they showed up today as well. Oh fun fact that I was told. They have Danny Castillo of Heritage Barbecue's first smoker. A cool bit of CA Barbecue history sitting in this literal backyard barbecue spot.

My nephew and I decided to visit since Just Smoke BBQ only opens on Sundays from 11:00 to 3:00. I have to say, as a barbecue connoisseur, Just Smoke is the best barbecue establishment outside of the state of Texas. You can't go wrong with all the meats, especially the brisket. The brisket, pulled pork, and ribs are seasoned to perfection and smoked just right. May I also say, ALL the meats were soft to touch and very moist. We also had the mac & cheese and the mashed potatoes. Both sides were amazing as well.

Best BBQ in the Coachella Valley. Don't be mistaken it is 100% worth the dive to Coachella. I usually order the family platter.

*Uncle D & Auntie V are Legit*…read more I take my BBQ & Brisket very seriously...and I'm thrilled Uncle D does too. So happy to stumble upon this lovely lively couple serving up their incredible BBQ food at the Palm Springs Art Museum commemorating & celebrating Juneteenth. Uncle D & Auntie V were so sweet & kind, they take their craft very seriously, and appreciate their customers. I had one of the BEST BBQ Brisket Sandwich's ever. And I've eaten & sampled my fair share. When I expressed I'm from LA and would drive all the way to Compton for the OG Bludso's BBQ & Brisket and Ribs with my BF, Auntie V's face lit up and says "I know it very well...and Darly is from Compton." When I told Uncle D, he expressed he knows Kevin Bludso personally...so I already knew I was in for a major brisket treat. After devouring my Sando in record time -- though I slowed down towards the end -- because I did not want it to end. I told my wife "I could eat 2 more of these." And speaking of which -- wifey's not too keen on BBQ like her hubby but can appreciate a great piece of quality meat. She took one bite (right smack in the middle -- which I suggested because it's the best bite :) and her response? "Oh my god...I could eat one of these." I've never heard her say that about BBQ Brisket. What makes Uncle D's Brisket so special? It's smoked & cooked overnight in a smoke-pit ~~ seasoned to perfection ~~ not fatty nor salty one bit...and don't get me started on the BBQ sauce that's not too thick & not too thin ~~ not too sweet & not too tangy ~~ it's simply perfection. And the bun too. This sandwich is so good you don't even need TEETH to enjoy because the mEAT is so soft & tender ~~ as perfect brisket should be. Following brisket consumption I went back to share my thoughts with D & V and when I said "not only is this one of the best I've ever had, it's better than Bludso's." D Looked me right in the eyes and softly said "really...seriously?" "Yes indeed" I said and he thanked me again. Then I told him "this section should be labeled: "The Art of Brisket" and D smiled at me so wide I can still see his happy face. Then we fist-bumped because he was wearing gloves but that Sando was so frickin' great I wanted to hug that cool bearded BBQ Master. Wifey had some of their Mac & Cheese and thought the noodles were cooked perfectly, it wasn't too cheesy & oily...and loved that it wasn't too salty. I took a bite and 2nd her notion. Checkout their website to find out where they'll be throughout the Coachella Valley. And make sure to confirm the location because their days & hours change during Summertime. Can't wait to find this hidden gem again...and next time I'm going to try their pulled pork and spare ribs too. And another Brisket sando or two :) {{{Big High Fives}}} {{{Fist-Bump & Hugs}}} Grandslam Huge Fan

Whoa flavor explosion! The food here is so good…read more Service was a bit slow, and the food took a while to come out. We also had to figure out on our own that we needed to grab our own salsas. They have a salsa bar near the cash register. All was forgiven once the food came. The carne asada in both the tacos and burritos was so flavorful, and I loved the homemade fresh tortillas. The salsas were all tasty, though definitely all on the spicy side. What really stood out to us were the camarones zarandeados (grilled shrimps). The sauce on them was delicious! They also have a full bar, and I couldn't help but notice everyone ordering these yummy looking red margaritas with a chamoy rim! Too bad it was a little too early for me to try one. However my husband did enjoy the beer. The decor is fun and lively, with a stage right in the middle. It was nice that the owner/manager came by to check in on us.

The place has a pretty cool theme kinda reminds me of the Rainforest Cafe but I noticed some of the ceiling was in need of repair & had some kind of water leak but that doesn't deter me or make me want to leave a bad & nasty review. I ordered the chile güeritos which were okay I still haven't found a place that makes them better then Mexicali cafe. I also ordered a Michelada with Modelo Negra which was also okay. Alright now onto the main course which I absolutely enjoyed! The taco de cabeza on a tortilla de harina was legit! I loved every single bite! The salsas from the salsa bar brought it all together! Some lime ‍ & bam! deliciousness! I also ordered a torta de carne asada which was hands down one the best I've had! The meat was perfectly grilled not dry like I've had before it was flavorful with that nice grilled smokey taste along with everything in the torta it really brought it together & that bread! Holy crap! It was super soft & literally felt like it was just made in house! The tacos are fully loaded & oh lord that torta is big!!! I could only finish half of it! I took the other half for lunch today & it was freakin delicious all over again! The staff was very friendly & attentive. The ambiance has potential just needs some repairs but I was feeling it. Honestly I loved my experience there & really enjoyed my food!. My parents also liked their food & were talking about ordering from there for next time!

What a unique restaurant! You can order American food like cheesesteaks, burgers...then order some…read moreFilipino food. Perfect for a couple like my husband & I, where he always prefers American food but I always want rice. Lots of parking. Not the prettiest inside, but everything was clean & the staff were very friendly. Although the boy at the register kept getting our order wrong. My hubby asked for the large 16" Philly, and even clarified twice, but was charged & given the small 8" one instead. He was also bummed that his Philly didn't come with fries, we thought it came with it since it wasn't clarified on the menu nor did the boy taking our order asked if we wanted fries with it. Nevertheless, my husband loved his Philly cheesesteak. Also, none of us asked for lumpia, but it was added to our order. It was a nice mistake tho because the pork lumpia was crispy & delicious. I also ordered both the lechon kawali & the tapsilog. The tapas in the tapsilog was delicious & had the perfect flavor. The lechon kawali could have been a little crisper, but my husband enjoyed that as well. We would definitely come back next time we're in town & craving Filipino & cheesesteaks.
