Galaxy skate had a whole system in place, with payment to picking skates to people helping in the skate rink. Fun lights and definitely temperature controlled so it was cool inside. This is a big plus since you work up a sweat sometimes going fast. Entrance feels not the happiest and a little unwelcoming - would suggest the front security person and register person have a little training in customer service and a smile. Its OK to be tough and be kind. The 1st encounter should always feel welcoming. Price was very clear online so what i expected to pay was accurate. And the skates and tables were nicely spread out. Food spread to another area as well. Lots of tables to hang and eat and talk. We skated for an hour + enjoyed the music. Thanks for an easy activity for kids and adults.

Our package included pizza, which was a nice touch, but everything else on the menu was definitely overpriced. Overall, a fun experience -- just be prepared to spend a little extra if you want more than what's in the package.

My 11 year old daughter has been taking group skating lessons for 3 weeks now and she loves it. The…read morestaff are very friendly and they are really good with the kids. I have even seen some adults out on the ice learning to skate too. The class is 45 minutes long. The instructors start off with some warm up exercises to the beat of some music and this lasts about 5 minutes. The music is then turned off and they break the students up in groups which is based on their experience levels. They then work on different techniques; starting, stopping, going backwards etc. That lasts 35 minutes. The final 5 minutes is free skate with the music back on and everyone skates in a big circle. Pure fun. I forgot how much I paid for the lessons, but I think it was in the 100 range for 4 lessons. The sessions are usually 8 weeks long, but my daughter started in middle so we were prorated. The reason why I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 was because the rental skates suck. The skates are beat up and the blades are dull. Beyond that the lessons are solid. Remember to tell them Dan sent you and bring a jacket because it's cold in there:)

The woman at the front window was really nice and help us understand their weekly specials as well as sessions that they offer: On Wed. nights they have personal one-on-one training for Couples or people over 21 in which they close of the back end of the main ice rink and teach you how to skate or brush up on ice skating. The price? $10 per person! Better yet, after your 1 hour session, you get a free draft beer upstairs in their sports lounge! That's right they have a full bar upstairs and best of all they offer $1 draft beers as well as food. If that isn't you're thing, you are free to visit the other ice rink at the opposite end of the complex and check out local ice hockey teams playing or if you have kids, they offer a whole slew of children's activities, from learning how to skate, figure skating, ice hockey and, they even offer afterschool care as well as skatecamp for kids. Be forewarned though, it is a little chilly inside so you may want to wear/bring a sweater.

The teachers are patient and take time with students to help them learn the elements. Prices for 5 week lessons are fair and include unlimited free skate sessions to practice during each term. I want to share a special shout out to the Skate Guards. They're very kind and helpful. Always there if someone falls and providing assistance and guidance to those who ask. I'm happy to see more rinks coming to the area and skating have a larger presence in South Florida. This is a great neighborhood rink that deserves more love. Plus, it's a nice reprieve from the oppressive heat outside.

Right from the first day everybody here was so friendly and getting checked in each time I come has been a breeze! The prices here are reasonable and it costs $14 for admission and if you need skates it is another $6. Luckily for me I can come when I want and get skates included in my lessons. The place could definitely use a little bit of a touch up but they do have a food and drink area as well a concession stand that has pretty decent prices. I have gotten their hot chocolate a couple times and it is very refreshing and warms me up nicely after a lesson of ice skating! They have open skating in the morning and afternoon but I do wish they could have a little more control over the open skating because there have been so many times I've almost run over kids because the staff members are not watching kids that are going sideways or the wrong way as everyone else. Overall an amazing Ice Arena , which could use a little bit of a refresh, but nothing that would prevent me from coming here in the future when I'm done with my lessons!

This "ice" skating rink is not your typical rink. Instead of ice the rink is 4,000 square feet of eco friendly self lubricating, dual layer tongue and groove panels. There is no need for refrigeration. It acts just like ice. The rink isn't that big but it's decorated for the holidays and they play festive music. The novelty is getting to skate outside when the temperature is today 81 degrees. I even saw Santa getting his groove on this morning. Sessions are $20. This a great date night idea or a unique thing to bring the kids to do. It is also pretty fun to watch South Floridians who have never been on ice trying to skate. It is NOT ice and does not feel anything like ice. Furthermore, the signage at the rink never makes this clear. The "ice" is simply white plastic tiles. The skates don't work at all, they just slip until you fall down. The experience is not enjoyable for anyone. Almost all the other people I encountered in the rink seemed pretty unhappy with the experience as well. Kids are bound to be frustrated, especially if they know what ice skating is really like. These folks should be shut down for false advertising as it is not clear that what is on the floor is not really ice based on the signs out front. Avoid this place unless you want to be ripped off.

Game‑saver at Pure Hockey Pompano…read more Five stars is not enough. Shane and Miranda at Pure Hockey in Pompano Beach delivered the kind of customer service you almost never see anymore. I walked in with an emergency skate repair about an hour before ice time. The clock was not my friend. They listened, triaged the issue on the spot, gave me clear options, then got to work immediately. No excuses, no upsell, just pros who care about getting players back on the ice. They treated my skates like their own, moved with urgency, and kept me updated so I knew exactly what was happening. The repair was finished just in time, and because of Shane and Miranda I made my skate and had a great session. What could have been a wasted night turned into a win. This is elite‑level service. Calm under pressure, precise work, and genuine kindness. I will be recommending every single player I skate with to go see them for any hockey need, from repairs to gear. To the Pure Hockey team reading this, put an A on their jerseys. To Shane and Miranda, thank you for the clutch save. You earned a customer for life. - Rocky Wilson, local player
