This was my first time ordering through the app and I actually placed my order using Uber Eats which made the whole process super simple. I liked being able to pick and choose what I wanted without any rush or pressure in line. It is definitely less stressful to customize online than doing it in person. I built my salad with edamame and chicken which made it much more filling. It might not be the best salad I have ever had but it was fresh, tasty, and satisfying enough for a mid day meal. Today I had the pleasure of being served by Nicole. I say pleasure, because while the rest of the staff are already very good, Nicole is just a notch higher. I've long since given up on coming up with my own perfect salad ever since that time I created one that was almost $20 with the meats and cheeses stuffed into it - no matter how good a list of ingredients sounds in my head, it almost always tastes mighty awful in reality. I like having a fresh, relatively healthy alternative next to all the tempting Chinatown lunches right next door, but in the grand scheme of things, Just Salad is right up there with Fresh & Co. and Chop't - reliable but a bit meh. Many of the fall-themed salads such as the Fall Farro Bowl look especially promising. I've only tried the Thai Chicken Crunch and the Ultimate Falafel, and preferred the Falafel. They don't give the giant balls of falafel that I'm used to, rather, it's mushed up into every bite. Portion-wise, the salads tend to be big enough to satiate without tipping you into the over-stuffed category. Even better, if you buy a reusable bowl for $1, you get a free cheese or 2 free "essential" toppings (the cheaper stuff, not avocado or pumpkin seeds) each time you bring it in. They also have wraps, soups, and smoothies. Avoid from 11:30-2 to skip the lunch rush! read more

I've been buying salads here since it opened a couple of years ago, maybe 3-6 times a month. The ingredients are great and varied, the salads are tasty, and staff is generally friendly, though rushed. It's my go-to healthy lunch spot since I work nearby and don't always have time to make my lunch the night before. This seems counter-intuitive, but since they stopped chopping their salads it's become more chaotic during weekday afternoons. Perhaps because they're pressured to move faster? Today they had to remake my order twice because they started to make the wrong item due to staff miscommunication and then the 2nd time around they added wayyyyyy too much dressing to the salad (they forgot to ask). They were extremely kind and remade my salad for free after I decided $11 was too much to spend on soupy salad. To management: I'd happily wait another 5 minutes if it means staff will be able to slow down and think about their work - heck, it may even reduce turnover (which seems high).
