This might not matter to everyone reading this, but for neurodivergent peeps (and anyone with sensory preferences), I would just say be a little cautious. I've been coming here for about six-ish years, and overall they are fantastic at what they do. Everyone is skilled, and their work in both cuts and color is genuinely good. For my recent appointment, I wanted to go shorter, but keep the front longer because I have sensory issues. I know that if the front pieces are too short, it bothers me a lot. I brought inspo photos to show exactly what I was aiming for--something a little more unconventional, short in the back but still longer in the front so I wouldn't have to style it. During the appointment, my stylist suggested not going too long in the front so it wouldn't feel unbalanced, which I understood. I said that was fine, as long as it was still long enough. But in the end, I was given a pretty traditional, trendy bob. The issue is that my hair naturally curves inward, so now it cups into my face, which is exactly what I was trying to avoid. I also don't style my hair (my stylist knows this--I've been going here for years), so this cut now requires styling for it to sit comfortably, which just doesn't work for me. This haircut was also for my graduation, so it was a really important moment for me, and that added to the disappointment. I do want to say that they refunded me, which I really appreciate--they handled that part well. But I'm still left with a haircut that causes a lot of sensory discomfort, and my only options are to cut it shorter or wait it out. For most people, this might not feel like a big deal. But for someone who is neurodivergent, small things like how hair sits on your face can be overwhelming and affect your day-to-day comfort. If you're looking for something more traditional or trendy, they do great work. But if you're looking for something more unconventional or very specific to your personal needs, just make sure you really advocate for yourself and feel fully aligned before committing. When I brought up my concerns, the owner, I sent her this same video (Emily) explained that this is what the salon considers a partial ROOT highlight touchup. I already had my hair previously bleached . I respect that explanation, but for $240 plus a $50 tip ($290 total), I expected a more noticeable result. She offered to correct it for an additional $50. I remember feeling extremely nervous the first time I lightened my hair, worried about potential damage. Thao guided me through the entire process and reassured me that she would keep my hair healthy while also making sure it remained low maintenance. Over the years, I've gone from dark to light and back to dark again. Each time, Thao has been incredibly professional and patient. I remember sending her numerous inspiration photos, and she was always honest about what was achievable with my hair. Without causing any damage, she successfully lightened my hair without it ever becoming brassy. Keep in mind when you go light, you have to get it toned and maintain your hair or it could potentially get brassy.
