(The only contender is Jack's Cosmic Dogs outside of Charleston, SC, a big brick-and-mortar that was on Food Network years ago.) Holy crap... the chili dog was SO good. And the cheese they use is shredded instead of that horrible nacho cheese. Divine! The chili is outstanding. Seriously, nowhere else even comes close. They have all-beef hot dogs and sausage options, and the coleslaw is some of the best I've ever had too. It has tiny chopped apples in it; nite you can't actually taste an apple flavor, you just know there's something about it that makes it SO good. Service was quick, and the prices were exceptionally reasonable for the quality. Re: "ambiance" (which Yelp wants us to comment on), It's a stand, though, so you'll need to take it to go or eat in your car. They take cash or card. They do have IG and FB, and I NEED to know their schedule! It looks like they don't have many followers on IG, so maybe they could update their social media a little more regularly. My bf and I already decided we will choose this stand over every other hot dog place in Pitt Co. and the surrounding counties. This is our new hot dog spot for sure. Also, I have to say something about the one bad review listed below because...what?!? It sounds like the person was upset that they ultimately prioritized getting hot dogs over missing part of a game? Lol. What would you expect when going to a hot dog stand at a big soccer game? Seems a little unfair to hold that against them...

There were 3 entrees, 3 hot vegetables, 2 kinds of cole slaw, and potato salad. Each were tasty, cooked correctly. The barbecue pork was seasoned correctly for eastern NC. The Sunday buffet is $10.99, with a much larger selection. It has my full recommendation.

You should plan to arrive early. It was crowded but the staff kept things replenished in a timely manner with wonderful friendly service. The dining room is very vintage and traditional. I loved the Christmas decor, real wood burning fireplace, and the deer in Santa hats. The restaurant staff provide excellent southern hospitality. Just so you know the buffet is $20 pp. It cost three of us $70 before tip. The food was really good. Good southern cooking. Gave the review a 4 for two reasons. Customer service was good and the atmosphere was casual. Would probably go back on a normal day but not on Buffet Sunday simply because we cant eat $20 worth of food. Overall the restaurant is good with tasty food and good customer service.
