They do not force you into buying products. They use what you have, and do what you want. I had been in a home for 30 years and moved. I had not disposed of one thing from the old house. Everything was just thrown together. I had a garage filled with things. My closets were not organized. My pantry was not organized. I couldn't find anything in this house. My house is now a dream. Their help gave me the incentive to do some things on my own. I was lost before. I know I never want to go back to that confusion. I think even if you have just a small project, this company can help you. They never forced you to give anything away. They let you make the decision. They also were not judging. The lady was so sweet. I felt a genuine connection. I thought their prices were reasonable. You do have to sign up for a certain amount of sessions after they see everything. I think this is just based on how long they think it's going to take them. I had tried a few other people. They were not as professional. My house was organized well and at a much faster pace than others. I cannot recommend this company enough.

    Charged Nearly $2,000 Over Quote -- Breach of Contract, Legal Action Pending…read more We were quoted $4,459 for our project, which we accepted despite our budget being lower. We even cleared the entire space beforehand to help expedite their process and reduce costs. However, we were shocked to be charged over $6,400--nearly $2,000 more than agreed. We understand it's not always going to 100% reflect the quote, but there was no prior notice or written approval of extra charges. When we questioned the overage, they claimed they gave us "their most generous discount to date," which was misleading and unacceptable. We disputed the charge with American Express, but were told the final bill they gave us after the work counted as "written notice," despite no prior communication about the increase. This is unfair and contradicts their own contract terms. After consulting with an attorney, we were advised the company is in breach of contract. If they do not refund the overage and honor the original quote, we are fully prepared to take legal action. This review is a final effort to resolve the matter before going to court. Future clients, proceed with caution--get everything in writing.

After years and years of hanging on to "things" I never used, sold or donated and thus making our garage a messy, unsightly and unusable place, I changed my mindset, thanks to Ariane and Shannon and couldn't be happier AND healthier. It feels much better to live in the present than to hang on to things from my past. These are things I decided someone else could much better use and enjoy, and the adage, if you haven't used it in a year, you don't "need" it, is so true. Ariane and Shannon helped me and my husband to sort, donate, toss or keep so many things we had saved for 20 or more years. They also offer to take items to donate as well. I learned about my city's (Fullerton) numerous opportunities for large item pick ups and extra trash pick ups (for an added fee) in the process. I became a familiar face at our local disposal place, which I (don't laugh) was kinda nervous about going to before, and that's why so many things didn't get "dumped." Our garage now has useable totes and shelves and designated spaces for items we truly need and use for our home and life. Big pluses for "The Clutter Nanny" are that both Ariane and Shannon are punctual, hard working, organized, great communicators and schedulers, conscientious, creative, and fantastic problem solvers. Now, and for our future, we have our two-car garage back and I look FORWARD to doing my laundry, storing and easily getting outdoor accessories and decor, easily finding camping items and tools to use indoors and outdoors. All our garage clutter is gone, and with this mindset, which Ariane and Shannon fostered in me, which feels and IS healthy, I am positive, I will not go back to clutter again. I'm seven months pregnant with our second baby, and our kitchen, pantry, and utility closet had become completely overwhelming. My husband and I did not have the time or energy to redo everything before the baby arrived. I especially needed help making our space work better for a toddler while preparing for newborn life again. They stepped in, understood exactly what we needed, and created practical solutions that made our home feel calm and manageable. At the end of the day it was something that needed to be done; something we were never going to do half as well as they did; and something that would lead to headaches and fights. We're so glad it was Ariane and Shannon doing it, not us. It was worth every penny. If you are thinking about booking them, plan ahead because their calendar fills up quickly.

She came in and taught me…read moreher calendaring system and took the time to follow up and make sure I was implementing it. (When you learn her system it's no mystery how she remembers to do that.) She doesn't teach by showing you and walking away. She has you do it on the spot, getting every little to-do out of your head, onto paper, then scheduled on the calendar. The relief you feel when you know that you won't forget something important is unreal. I've tried a million different ways to keep track of things, methods for doing certain things on certain days, etc... none of that works. Life is always in flux and her system lets you embrace that. It also doesn't hurt that Sara is super funny, down to earth, and a living breathing organizing Mary Poppins. I've had a little taste of her physical organizing services and convinced they are just as amazing as her calendaring system. I live in a tiny space and run a business from it as well so it requires quite a bit of ingenuity. I'm looking forward to getting some of her help here with maximizing closet space etc...     From #HotMess to #Minimalist (mostly!)…read more A little bit about me... I'm a partner in a CPA firm and feel like I am busy most of the time. My home usually gets the last focus from me. I've always leaned toward the messy, unorganized side of things in all parts of my life. I even used to joke that I had hoarding tendencies. During the pandemic, I moved into full-on hoarder mode. I had so many things piled up in my house that I couldn't get around easily. Amazon boxes were everywhere! And I hated being home. In June 2022, I decided I had had enough and interviewed three different professional organizers. As soon as Amy and I spoke on the phone, I knew we were fated for each other! She made me feel so comfortable even on the phone and I believed that she could help me overcome a lifetime of keeping things! Amy and I have been working together regularly since then (with breaks during my busy tax times). Together, we've tackled the kitchen, the bedroom, my home office, the living room, my extra bedroom (which has now become my "she shack!"), the garage, and the exterior storage cabinets. Once we emptied the garage, I then emptied the off-site storage (10'x20') back into my garage. Today, JunkMD hauled away the last of the mess and my car can finally live in my garage after 17 years!! I don't know how to express how happy I am! Amy asked me the first time we worked together what my goals were and I said to feel lighter, less weighed down by things, and for my home to become an oasis. Amy has helped me to achieve those goals and more! She is such a pleasure to work with. Her approach is to ask how hard you want her to push, and then she lives up to that agreement. I've never felt judged or criticized by her. I always feel better once Amy's been here. I can say she has become a friend - she knows my weaknesses (anything "cute" - I'm also distracted by a "really good box") but she also understands my strengths and where I want to be and she supports and encourages me in that journey. Amy is more than a physical things organizer - she also helps me get clarity and organization with my thinking, and with the emotions that are tied to the physical things. I've learned so many good habits and behaviors and am so grateful I was led to her. If you are a busy, professional woman who just doesn't have the energy for keeping your physical space as organized and tidy as you'd like, Amy is for you!
