FIRST, if there are still pictures of a white cat in the businesses listing, they are before and…read moreafter photos of my pet that was abused as described in this post. A woman named Dayan (Garst?) works there. She was previously allowed to groom cats at Twin Pines. She was not an employee of Twin Pines, but groomed cats there in case they needed to be partially sedated for hair cuts. Because Twin Pines is the clinic we used, we tried Dayan for the first time when our sweet 5 yr old rescue cat needed a haircut. The staff said he was so calm and well behaved they did not sedate him. When I returned later to pick him up, staff members met me at the door with apologies. They assured me my cat was not permanently harmed, but that for reasons they could not explain, DAYAN, had essentially attacked him with the clippers. Our sweet natured boy whom had already survived a life of neglect and near starvation had been shaved nearly to the skin, which would be normal (He is white and Half Persian.) However the cut was very choppy with countless nicks that he'd to have hit his skin. Some hair had been cut from the legs, but were not clipper short like his body. She hadn't cut his nails, so the staff had attempted to do that and clean him up a bit because she didn't bathe him either. Worst of all was what she did to his face. I had left her s note asking her to trim/shape the hair on his cheeks as best she could WITHOUT TOUCHING HIS WHISKERS OR EYEBROWS. She chopped hunks of hair randomly out of his cheeks, and INTENTIONALLY CUT HIS WHISKERS DOWN TO STUBBLE. Most people know that cats rely on their whiskers for balance and equilibrium. Without them, they may be nauseated, dizzy, and have difficulty walking normally. I was traumatized to find my baby had suffered such deliberate abuse and cruelty at the hands of an alleged professional. I cried. The clinic didn't charge me, and assured me DAYAN would never again be allowed inside their building. They told me the cat would likely feel better in a few days. He remained in our bed almost continuously for approximately 3 days (normally, he only naps with us occasionally.) His condition has returned mostly to normal, though I fear his trust in us and humans in general has been further damaged. His whiskers are growing back very slowly. A few are nearly normal, but some remain stubble-like after several months. Do not let this monster groom your animal. I would also be wary of any business that employs her. If this profession is overseen by state or local authorities, I urge them to investigate. I will post a few before and after photos if I am able. The pictures after the cut do not clearly show the extent of the abuse. You can tell that the cut is choppy, and viewed closely, you can see that the whiskers are gone. DAYAN (Garst?) is dangerous to animals, and several employees of Twin Pines Pet Clinic can now testify to that. I would certainly give zero stars, but not know another way to start the review process.

I put up with rude vet techs and receptionist, but continued with this clinic because the vets were good. But ever since Dr.kelso left and the new kid vet took over none of my animals needs or emergencies seemed to have mattered. 1.) I had an emergency with my cat Enzo, I called the vet emergency number but they couldn't see me for some reason, but couldnt say. By the time i got him to the emergency vet in topeka it was too late, and my 6 year old was so distraught from losing her cat. 2.) The vet tech amber was rude as hell anytime I picked up any of my several spay/neuter pets, with very rude comments, shoving their kennels on the ground, and so on. 3.) I had a cat bandit who was not eating, drinking or peeing, the new young guy vet (Jackson), had me wait till after he went to church to see him, to then not even take it seriously. I think as a christian myself god would have understood if you had to miss church to do your job. 4.) I had a dog whos weiwei was stuck out and wouldnt go back in, i was charged $30 just to talk to Jackson on the phone and charged for meds that didnt even end up working, i called topeka emergency who told me to lube it up and put it back in, which worked. If that vet had it his way he would have cut off the dogs dick and sewed it back like he said he's done before. 5.) And then tonight when I called about my other cat who hasn't used the bathroom in almost 24 hours and refuses to eat i call them again, and I get a text saying they can't see me tonight. I continued with this clinic because Dr.kelso was always very helpful and seem to have care for my pets. But since this new veterinarian I've felt nothing but absolute disrespect and no care for my pets who are like my children. Unbelievable! Do better. Alot of people see their pets as their children and would do anything for them, get more compassionate! Updated review 05/16/2025: Owner (Shawn) finally called almost a year later to gaslight me into saying that I'm the issue for calling and asking questions on why I got random charges over the last 6 months, and for me calling to ask why his vet tech (amber) was verbally abusive towards me with rude comments over taking my cats home after their surgeries were done, throwing their kennels on the ground instead of handing them to me, mind you this is after the cats had surgery she threw them in their kennel on the ground. If calling to ask why these things are happening is "annoying", then trust me when I said your unprofessionalism is ANNOYING. Went here for 3+years, given thousands of dollars to this clinic, just for them to change up once their son started working with them. Shouldn't mix family with business. Also to mention Shawn the owner spayed one of my cats (piper) incorrectly, he couldn't find her ovary/uterine horn to remove it. She had to go back under after I reached out to tell him she was back in heat, I was still nice about it even though I had to put my cat back through surgery. Maybe it's time to retire or freshen up on your vet skills. Ive worked for many vets and ive never heard of any of them havunf issues completing a simple spay. But calling to have an issue they messed up was "complaining" too much. If you want to avoid random charges, rude comments, and having your animals mistreated go somewhere else.

For the first 5 years of my chicken keeping, the only real help I had was the internet and the few books I could find on the subject... so needless to say, resources were scarce when health situations arose with my chickens. Thankfully when I had a situation that I was desperate to find anyone who would help, a friend of a friend recommended Dr. Shawn. I tried to get help from any vets in the 2-state-area and nobody was willing to see me until I found Cedar Ridge Vet Clinic. Dr. Shawn was truly an angel to help me with my chicken crop issue. I had several situations that came up over the past couple of years with which Dr. Shawn was willing to help. And then when my beloved Roo was attacked by a fox, I can't tell you how much it meant to me that I (and he) was treated with so much compassion and caring from every single staff member. You don't know how lucky you are to have this veterinary clinic available with all the caring people who work there. I can't recommend them highly enough. They are really, truly, the very best.
