I genuinely enjoy shopping at Dick's Sporting Goods, including this location--so why the one-star…read morereview? Because as a golfer, I absolutely dread visiting the golf department. There is a thin woman with a raspy voice who works in (or manages) that department, and every interaction with her is unpleasant. She's consistently rude, dismissive, and acts as if any basic question is an interruption. If she's folding clothes and you ask for help, she reacts as though you're inconveniencing her. On multiple visits, I've asked about a single club regrip while I shop, and she responds with visible annoyance and a rundown of how busy she supposedly is--only for me to return 10 minutes later and find her chatting with coworkers. I've had other Dicks employees regrip a club for me in less than 10 minutes. She is, frankly, a terrible representative for Dick's Sporting Goods, and her attitude is the primary reason I will not be returning to this store.

On my way out the front door the store security alarm went off security made me turn around and return to check out where security rifled through my purchases only to find the dumb a** cashier forgot to remove an alarm tag. Did I get an apology? Hell no the manager just said "oh he's new" as if that was a valid excuse. This is how they treat paying customers so I would advise shopping elsewhere. No excuses for this kind of behavior especially from someone in management. It was embarising to be searched in front of all the customers checking out. I'm mortified.

The store's inventory is slim... lots of empty spots on shelves. The crew there is very friendly &…read morehelpful, but they can't sell something they don't have. The online store has great inventory & good prices, but they should be ashamed of their customer service. Real people are not available (only the chatbot). The chatbot can connect you to a real person (via chat only) but the real people don't work weekends, and they only "open a ticket" for your issue. Nobody ever got back to me about the ticket I opened. I was ignored. I placed an order online of around $5k, and a significant portion of that order arrived incorrect - missing parts where it says the part was delivered - double counting/delivery (& double charging) of other items - item descriptions that are misleading (chairs that claim to ship with mounting hardware but arrive with nothing). The online store also made a big mistake with my bank causing about $1900.00 of my money to be held by W.M. for 6 days after the order was cancelled. If I had a good alternative to W.M. with as large an inventory, I would not use W.M. at all. But I don't have another good option that I know of (yet), so I'm stuck with W.M. for now. I guess they know that, and that's probably why they don't care about good customer service.

The offerings and pricing are all pretty consistent, but some stores excel in the critical areas of cleanliness and customer service. After shopping the Panama City store several times over the past half dozen years or so, I'm confident that this one is above average for the chain. The store is always clean and well merchandised. The staff are visible, knowledgeable and most importantly, helpful. If you're a boater, you'll eventually need something from West Marine. They've got it all, from boat and trailer parts, electronics, safety gear, cleaning supplies, fishing gear, shoes and apparel, etc. I wish the prices were a bit more competitive, but that's boating!

Upon entering the store we were made feel very welcome. I inquired about fishing licenses. The Lady behind the counter immediately answered all my questions and I was thrilled that I could purchase the proper licenses to fish at the beach for the week. I was given detailed information about the different prices per the amount of time that I would be fishing. I ended up purchasing two seawater licenses for the week for my Nephew and I. My Nephew ended up buying Bait & Tackle and everyone was very helpful. I definitely will be returning to this location for future fishing related purchases. The store has lots of rods for sale and lots of fishing related products for sale. Lastly it should be noted I am originally from Dublin, Ireland, traveled all over the world with the US Marines and traveled all over the United States. I contacted customer service about the issue and they sent my money back for the 1 strand that was cut. The next day I recieved most of the other wire that I needed. The other wires were packaged as if they had no concept of handling wire. None of it was rolled up, it looked like they had just shoved it inside the box and called it good. I spent well over an hour going through all of the other wire and de-tangling it. I will be measuring it to see if they actually sent me the correct length of wire because I doubt that they did. I added pictures of what the mess of wire looked like. Instead of them taking 30 seconds to coil the wire while they pulled it off the reel and taping it, they did this....
