24 September 2020. The dive instructors seem reputable (this is in no way speaking against the instructors) but unfortunately, due to an unprofessional "First year out of high school vibes" cashier, I was never able to go on a dive trip. I apologize for the accuracy. -She passed inaccurate pricing information over the phone, not a huge deal, but it was once I arrived to the shop that the fun really began. -What could have been a minor error (accidentally double-charging a $431 purchase after a receipt didn't print) almost ended with a lawsuit. The young blonde girl was not properly trained (had to call on two different people for a refund assistance) and despite clear evidence, she refused to acknowledge that the double charge ever took place. -I asked for a full refund minus the flashlight I decided to buy.. -After the cashier refunded the first charge (I'm still owed the 2nd) another cashier seemed to forget I was purchasing a flashlight and called me when I was 5 minutes down the road to let me know that I needed to pay for the flashlight she refunded me. -My bank repaid me while the $431 purchase was being disputed. Dive Locker, of course, lost the dispute some time later (40+ days) -If you're reading this.. I'd suggest training/diving with Red Alert diving & Diver's Den or even Cave Adventures (if you're closer to Marianna and are into technical diving) shops have dedicated, professional staff members. The positive is they were very patient & took their time teaching and making sure everyone could pass the tests & taught the basics of scuba diving very well. I would not use them again because they promised on the third day we would get to go on a deep water dive...they lied & decided to take us to the same boring spot off of the public beach. I would understand if it was because of weather, but no, it was because they had some new people join he class at the last minute & decided to make more money & keep us all at the public beach. My teenage sons were completely disappointed & we revolved the majority of our vacation around this dive. I would recommend getting your license close to where you live & be able to enjoy your vacation & actually be able something besides a public beach with minnows. read more

My friends and I continued to observe our tradition of diving on New Year's Day and scheduled a last minute dive with Dive Locker. Though there were only four of us, Scott and Randy (the captain and dive master) were very friendly and professional. As cold as it was, it would have been great if they brought along hot drinks for after the dives. Though it was out of their control, I think the weather may have effected my ratings - hey, it was cold and the water was rough. Still, I plan on diving with them again and they have five-star potential. read more

Nice folks, knowledgeable and professional staff. No one in the area will beat the prices on the 20 charter ticket they have, ends up being ~$65 per trip. I went out yesterday, Saturday, June 25, 2016, on the morning Dive Charter. They were on time, courteous, and fun to be around. The boat was excellent and clean. Everything promised was on board and ready. The Captain did a great job explaining the safety procedures. The ride out was good, the Captain paid attention to where he was going.The Dive Master advised of the sites we would be going on, and what to expect. Once he had tied in, he was very clear on where we were tied in, visibility, conditions, currents, what we could expect to see. He was target on. Now... I was the one that made a mistake, On the second dive, while at 70 feet, I became distorted, I came up, and came up fast. Upon breaching the surface, I came to the back of the boat where the Dive Master was ready as he saw me coming. I advised him that I had come up too fast. No questions asked, he jumped in the water, took my BC off of me, an instructor on board jumped into action as well as the Captain to bring me on board, lay me down, and start oxygen. They took steady notes and took turns being at my side as other divers came up. They did triage that I have never seen in a hospital looking for the first sign of issues. They were so attentive, and even when I said I was fine, and did not need Oxygen, the Captain and Dive Master both explained that I was under their care, and the mask stayed on! After we arrived at the dock, they asked about EMS and how I was feeling. When I refused any additional assistance they asked me to come to the shop where they could keep a watch on me, which I did... and enjoyed hanging out for a few hours with them. They additionally called and texted to make sure I was doing well. The next day, today, they checked in on me. Luckily I was not down long enough when the "event' occurred (9 minutes) and I was on Nitrox, that I had no residual effects. Superb service, great local location, and well later out shop! We went to multiple dive shops before finding this one and were extremely happy. My husband and I are both big divers and came to Panama City for a vacation. We brought most of our dive gear but left a few things behind. Tony at dive locker was great at getting us what we needed and did everything he could to make sure we were happy and satisfied. Dive shops are such a personal experience and it's always awesome to find one you click with. This shop may not he as close to the local dive spots (mainly at Andrews state park) but it's worth the extra mile drive!! read more

Brought BC and regulator set for annual. Was told it would take 5 days. In 5 days they told me it would need repair and parts need to be ordered. It would be another 7 days. After 30 days they said parts were back ordered. Refused to give a completion date. After 45 days they said they will call and determine the delay. After receiving no call at 60 days, I called and it was finished. Went to pick it up and they had lost my gear bag. Couldn't find it anywhere. No offer to replace. Apparently, this place gets by on zero customer service. read more

Ger-er-done certification! This is where to go for fast, cheap Open Water certification. The instruction was fine and I felt like the instructors were very friendly and knowledgeable, but this is not the route to begin a thorough diving education. Classroom instruction only reviewed the quizzes at the end of the manual's chapters. The materials did not include PADI's instructional DVDs like other dive shops I contacted. They passed a student who showed up and had obviously never read the manual (they gave her the materials that morning). After the 3-day weekend certification course (which did not include a boat dive -- they need 4 non-student divers on the trip for that), I'm unsure about diving beyond a 30' depth beach dive. They have 2-day certification classes, too, which give even less preparation (typical "pool" work was at the first dive site). I would not go this route if you have anxieties about diving. When it's time for our kids to get certified, we'll pay the extra money for more instruction. That said, knowing what I know now... I may have gone this route again given our circumstances, the low price, and because I have a more experienced dive buddy. read more

If you like being lied too then this is the store for you! So I dropped my gear off on the 27th of June and requested a hydro on my tank and a regular service on my reg set up, they said that my gear would be done by the 4th which sounded amazing. But then, the fourth came around and got no call from them so I figured I'd call on the 5th so I did. I called and they said it would be done by the next week. The next week rolls around nothing, so I called again but this time they PROMISED It be done this week, said they had to order a part. Nope, so I said screw it these guys are terrible at their jobs and went in to just get my gear back. As soon as I walked in Jan dvorak was behind the counter and could tell I was in a bad mood for obvious reasons. So he became a moody little snob, worse than I was! Told me "go back there and get your tank" in a petty I'm too good for this job and you kinda tone. Tank wasn't back there and he couldn't find out where it was, when I saw my regulators I saw they very clearly haven't even been touched since I dropped them off 3 weeks prior. I'm still waiting to find out where my tank is, this place is a joke and I'm not surprised majority good reviews are by new divers that haven't been around much. This place going out wouldn't hurt the dive world one, so grab your gear and money and run VERY far away from this place to save the headache of dealing with a Neanderthal behind the counter. read more

My son and I booked a discover scuba dive with this dive shop. Because there website did a great job of selling the idea of becoming dive certified. The experience was horrible and way over priced. The instructor was very competent however seem like he was in a hurry to get our dive experience over with. He took us to the crowded swimming area at the jetties of St. Andrews park. The water for the most part was only six feet deep. While under water we were so heavily weighted down we latterly just dragged the bottom and had to constantly avoid other swimmer's walking around us. You would think that this dive shop would want to provide a better discover scuba dive especially if there goal is to convince people to get certified through their dive shop. This was such a bad experience and so over priced. So if your visiting or your local and you want to waste money for bad experiences and service visit the diver locker on Thomas drive they sure won't let you down read more

Dangerous boat drivers! Do NOT recommend this company. If I could give this company a negative rating I most definitely would. As locals in Panama City Beach my family and I rented a pontoon boat during the weekend of my Fiance and my wedding shower. We were hoping to enjoy a day at shell island and soak up the gorgeous weather. As we were boating through the lagoon one of the Dive Lockers boats drove right in front of our boat cutting us off and causing a huge wake. As our boat hit the wake we were thrown around with 2 children and my elderly grandmother. Our boat was dangerously close to sinking with 10 people aboard including a 6 week old puppy that was very close to being thrown overboard. Our boat and everything on it including our food, drinks and belongings were covered with water and several phones and now broken with water damage. We lost many of our belongings into the lagoon as well. I've been boating many times and never had that many belongings get that wet. It was very obvious that this was done intentionally because they didn't slow down or see if we were okay. Everyone on the boat was turned around looking at us and laughing. I am absolutely disgusted that this is how a company would treat any family out on the water and I'm furthermore extremely angry that our trip was ruined and many of our belongings lost. My mother immediately called the Dive Lockers' office to let them know that they had a dangerous driver and "Tina" the woman she spoke to was rude and asked if "we were boating in the correct area" not once did she seem concerned or ask if we were okay. (Also we knew exactly where we were supposed to be boating. We are well known locals and have been on the water many times before.) My mom continued to ask for the owner and asked since he was not there "Tina" promised that he would call her back. We reported the situation to authorities but by 4:30 pm my mom had still not received a call back from the owner. She called again and was told he had just left for the day. How convenient.... It is now over 24 hours later and we have still not been able to get in contact with the owner. This shows how much this man clearly does not care about a dangerous issue like this. I am grateful that everyone in my family is okay but I will never be okay with the lack of care and disrespect this business has shown my family. Hundreds of dollars of belongings and phones were ruined because they thought it would be funny to try to capsize our pontoon. I am disgusted that they show no remorse or that the owner would not try to make things right by a simple phone call. read more

My fiance went through dive locker 2011 after having the worst experience in Bonaire. In fact, had it not been for Todd Yarbrough at Dive Locker he would have quit. We planned to go diving in Thailand, except for the fact that I didn't have my license. So, my fiance brought me back to the Dive Locker, Todd and Patti helped us with our special scheduling needs with private instruction. Todd had this amazing way of taking that away this severe anxiety I had. Patti seemed to know what I was getting at when I asked questions. Even though they were probably the silliest questions I thought one could ask. They are an amazing team and we would recommend them to anyone who needs that extra attention or has sever anxiety. I dove with this outfit four times. At no time did they check my certs. The last time I dove with them the shop hurried us to the marina without checking any of the Nitrox tanks and also, without enough tanks. We had to wait a bit. On the boat, we asked the Captain for an O2 tester for the Nitrox tanks. He said he didn't have one and we should have checked the tanks at the shop. When we told him the shop was still filling tanks and told us to heat out to the marina he said, not to worry, all the tanks were all EAN. Luckily I had a sensor and no, they were not all 32 EAN...they were all over the place, between 30 and 35 EAN........then, we dove on a historical wreck which the boat was tied off too..(a senior diver instructor was on board and told the captain that was illegal...captain didn't listen.) Then a diver from a private boat came up unconscious and we received a call to take oxygen to them...we all came up, but the crew didn't pull in the tag line and so, the line fouled in the prop. This happened about 2 years ago and hopefully they have cleaned up their act. read more
