Disgusting. Went there with a parcel with me that i had to drop but the place near it was closed. stopped by there for assisstance and might as well eat something as I was tired. The service here is amazing. The food on the other hand is not good. I ordered fried fish and shrimp and Mac and cabbage were my sides. The fish was okay but the shrimp was cold. The sides had a old taste to them. There was nothing fresh about my meal. Homeless people off the street kept coming in to get warmed up and it made me feel very uncomfortable. Let's get the relative bad news out of the way. It's a little pricey for Southern cuisine. That's it. Every other thing about this place is great. The food was delicious and the portions were such that I had a little left over. Also, the staff were hysterical. I really loved the service and the atmosphere. Overall, it's worth the trip. I had turkey wings with cabbage and mac and cheese. Yum. Thinking about it makes me want to go now but I've got other restaurants to try before I make this one a favorite. LOL read more

Wait was long. The whiting fish was flimsy which means that the fish was either undercooked or old. The counter help are young ladies who do not pay attention to what people are ordering. They are not friendly either, customer service skills really need to approve. What I luv most is that they have an extensive enough menu & multiple sides to choose from!! There is something on their menu or in their specials for eeeeeveryone!! Yesterday, I catered dinner for 20 people and all went well. Delivery was perfectly timed and the young lady who delivered the food was very professional. She ensured I received everything I ordered and all I had to do was set everything up and wait for my guests to arrive. I ordered catfish finger, fried chicken, bbq chicken, collard greens, mac and cheese, candied yams, cornbread, lemon-coconut cake and chocolate cake. My grandmother frequents this place quite often has never had the experience we had today. I came from out of town & we finally had the time to visit this restaurant together. I just had a craving for some good ole' fried whiting so I decided just to get the four piece fish sandwich. My grandmother got the two piece fish sandwich. This was my first time having a meal here... It was delicious. I noshed on grilled salmon/ garlic shrimp with mac and cheese and yams. A large Uptown was ordered to was everything down. I discovered Just Fish when I was doing a workshop across the street at United Way. It is the BEST fish I've had since my Aunt Mary passed away 20 years ago! The fish is perfectly seasoned, generous portions, they have a great menu (not just fish) and excellent service. I had porgies. The fish was a good size, taste was so fresh and sweet. I always order the same thing the oxtail, so I can't vouch for anything other than that. I think its very good they aren't small very meaty with just enough fat, my fiancé begs to differ. Her opinion is the gravy they use is really salty, it is a little on the salty side but its not overwhelming to me. For the amount I paid for my platter ($16.95 before tax; $18 and some change after tax), I would have expected more bang for my bucks. I ordered a Just Dinner consisting of catfish & shrimp,two sides,and corn bread. I decided to get macaroni & cheese, as well as yams. The platter only came with 2 pieces of catfish and 4 pieces of shrimps. For the amount I paid for, I would expect more protein. The portion size of the side order was a good amount. The yams were the best part of my meal! The catfish and shrimp could've used more seasoning. As for the mac & cheese, it wasn't the best, but it suffice. It needed to be more cheesy and baked a little longer for my liking. Last but not least, the cornbread was more of a cake like texture. I prefer my cornbread to be more moist. This specific meal was over-priced. Overall, they had friendly service. Yes, I would go back, but to try a different dinner platter. read more

My husband and I stopped in this place for the first time today. We both had fish dishes. It is a beautiful clean place. My huge size plate consisted of three pieces of fried whiting, yams, corn bread, broccoli, beans and rice and soda. They give you an ample amount of food. The food was very tasty. The ambience was very nice. The only thing wrong with the place is that they had only about eight little tables. This would be the perfect place to go to after church, but there wouldn't have any seats at that time. We would have to bring the food home.
