The gentleman I purchased the blinds from retired and sold the company to the Williamson family. I recently had a problem with a very large double blind in my dining room that has been called upon for service daily for the last four years. Other than a problem with the cord; the blinds still look brand new. The response was quick, friendly and professional, but the in-person service was extraordinary!! Sincerely. When Steve couldn't fix the problem, he decided to replace the blind. The new blind was installed today. The service was exceptional! There was NO question that my satisfaction was the most important concern. I recommend this business with complete confidence. This is a lovely family business, that treated me like family. I was willing to pay to get it fixed, they came out and tried to fix it. I spoke to the owner and he told me that he reached out to the company and they were going to send him the charger. Nope. Its been now 7 months, I think Ive waited long enough to write this review. Funny thing is they were quick to give me quote to get new blinds on some of the windows I didnt do before. Once I turned it down because the price was a bit too high, I havent heard from them. I have so many emails back and forth with this company. I get not wanting to warrant the lifetime warranty because you purchase the company, but I cant open or close the blinds because they never followed back up. 7 months....could you imagine if i purchase the blinds they quoted me 7 months ago.

And I know we made the right decision by contacting Debbie and Jay. They came to our home and within minutes they understood what blinds we wanted and we were happy with the price. They are beautiful! Oh, and so are the blinds! (Just kidding.) But I'm not kidding when I say, these two are a pleasure to work with. They entered our lives as strangers and left as friends. After months of reviewing local storm protection/storm windows companies, we chose Smart Guard Shutters and we are very glad that we did. It was easy to book an appointment on the website - https://smartguardshutters.com/ Not only is the owner, Richard Rickard, very personable & professional, he clearly explained all the choices that made the most sense for our home. Pricing was on a par with other companies but the unique guarantee of a timely install (or a rebate kicks in) coupled with a very reasonable deposit requirement closed the deal. Elapsed time from signing the contract to completed install was just 35 days! Talk about over-delivering! The install crew impressively worked quickly, quietly and cleanly, completing the whole-house install in half a day. The required Volusia County inspection went fine and Smart Guard has delivered a 10 Year Warranty document to finalize the install. Since our install, many of our neighbors have contracted with Smart Guard as well. If you are considering hurricane protection it might be "smart" to contact Smart Guard Shutters before they get even busier.

It's taken me 5 yrs to post this review and obviously I should have posted it a long time ago. We…read moreordered plantation shutters for our windows and for a 3-door slider door for the patio. First, they didn't get our order correct. We ordered the "Hidden Tilt" and that's not what we received. We were told that's not what we ordered but we were able to prove we did with a copy of our order so we were reimbursed for that issue. They offered to not install and take them back to a shop to fix but after waiting weeks for delivery we decided to just keep what they delivered. The shutters for the windows were great. No complaints. My real complaint is with the shutters for the sliders. We have 3 wide glass door sliders and the company apparently doesn't know how to install them. The shutters are very heavy and need to be reinforced in the middle, which they didn't do so not only does our middle shutter sit0020on the floor, it's nearly impossible to slide. Because the top is slightly deflected or bowed in the middle, the two side shutters do not sit properly either. We have big daylight gaps in parts and overlap in other parts. They had to install the side frames out of plumb by 2 inches at the bottom than the top so daylight would not show to compensate for the bowed middle. After the first attempt at installation, they were horrendous and the installer said that was the best he could do. Quickly after the installation we called the company and complained. They sent the same installer again and he made them a little better but said we had to decide which horrible look we wanted and keep it that way. But the dragging on the floor panels got worse over time. My husband has been adjusting them as much as he can, which by the way the installer told us we would need to do. We've had it that way for almost 5 years and I just can't stand looking at it and not being able to use anymore. A few months ago, my husband called and asked about getting them fixed. We were told that since it's been 5 years it would cost $75 to have someone come and just look at them and then $75 per hour if we had them worked on. My husband pushed back but was told by the company that they've installed many of them in the last 5 years without any complaints. I find that hard to believe or they've actually learned how to install them in those past 5 years. Either way, they should at least send someone out to look at them and correct since they should be able to see in our record that we weren't happy. In my opinion these shouldn't be sold if they can't be installed properly so my warning is to not order these blinds from this company for wide slider plantation style shutters.
