So my original appointment was rescheduled, then last week my son was diagnosed with RSV, everyone in our house was considered highly contagious so I rescheduled again. When calling today to inform them that I was diagnosed with pneumonia last night (After they had closed) and assumed I should reschedule my appointment one last time, I was rudely told my appointment was being cancelled (by them) and I was no longer welcome to be a patient in their office. After persisting that I would still come in although I am sick and have documentation from my doctor. I was told abruptly that they would ask my dentist to refer me to a different office and then hung up. This has been an incredible frustrating experience. We have been though a rough time medically over the last month as a family, and to be treated so rudely as someone who is trying to be responsible and not further spread germs and disease. I am still in shock over the way I was treated. I hope this message reaches the right people and they seriously review their customer service standards with the people working in reception.

PLEASE READ IN ENTIRETY!!! I almost never leave reviews but…read moreI have to speak up for myself with hopes that what happened to me does not happen to anyone else. No one deserves to be treated like I did. No patient should ever be lied to or called a liar. I called in to Dentkos to verify that my insurance was accepted and I was told yes. I needed two root canals so I scheduled my appt and came in on 6/24/25. I was in excruciating pain. I asked if my procedures were 100% covered by my insurance and I was told with complete certainty, yes. So, I signed all of the paperwork and Dr. Dentkos began my first root canal. For unclear reasons, he didn't complete the root canal and I was scheduled to come back in on 7/7/25 to have it finished and to start on the second one. I came back in on that date and Michelle, the office manager at the front desk, told me someone in their office made a mistake and they found out that they were not in network with my insurance. Of course I was taken aback and completely confused. I told her that my root canal was not even finished so what would happen regarding it's completion. She said "Don't worry we are going to complete it, we have to. But we won't be able to do your second one. You'll have to go somewhere else that accepts your insurance for that one". I was a bit upset due to me having to find a different entodontist, but I was also content with finally getting my first root canal finished. So, I got the first root canal finished that day. On 7/18/25, I receive a bill for a total of $1,219 that stated I was responsible for. I figured it was just a mistake or an automatic correspondence that was sent out. But I wanted to make sure. So, I called Dentkos and Michelle answered the phone. I explained to her that I got the bill and automatically she became defensive and extremely rude to me. She told me that she doesn't know who told me that they accepted my insurance and that "Dr. Dentkos doesn't work for free". I explained "It's not my fault that YOU gave me incorrect information and I remember exactly who I spoke with and it was you Michelle". She basically called me a liar and said no one ever told me that. After briefly going back and forth and me trying to explain why this is so unfair and how I shouldn't be held financially responsible, she blatantly stated "Well you signed paperwork that said whatever your insurance doesn't cover, you'd be responsible for. So, you'll just have to pay the bill". Needless to say, I've contacted my insurance company and filed a grievance and an appeal. I am also going to file complaints with whatever departments necessary to get some answers and a resolution. There was never an apology or accountability. Just blaming the patient and accusing me of being untruthful. I WILL NEVER SUGGEST ANYONE TO GO TO THIS ENTODONTIST. Please save yourself the headache and find an honest and professional endodontist office who genuinely cares about their patients.

I noticed UV lights are used throughout the office to maintain killing of germs. Anything I touched or that was used the girls sterilized it instantly! Full wipe down and no back was turned till completed. Impressive to say the least. So, as a new patient Dr. T was AMAZING and made me feel so welcomed. The hygienist who actually cleaned better than most (no lie) asked me if I wanted fluoride which I declined. I just don't do extra fluoride and it was "ok". I really like they provide choices of treatments and also share the cost so a person can see if it's in their budget. I mean it was under 20., but sometimes it just doesn't work for the pocket book. I've always thought I needed veneers and Dr made it very clear I had solid teeth and bonding was enough and price was VERY reasonable. It's been a long time I've met a dentist who didn't try to $ grab you. Also this dentist has a ton of experience. He also explains the "why" things happen. I love that. This way I can make changes. Omg! Made an appointment for my son two days later I was so impressed. It's interesting when the front staff and back staff are all so nice one can bet the dentist is as well. I'm new to the area. Definitely worth a shot coming here if you are as well. Oh... how could I have forgotten the two therapy dogs. I didn't see them anywhere so if nervous about hypo-allergy, sweet well behaved dogs , no worries they are never bothersome or even seen but I did have a moment that I was uneasy, as I get with dental visits sometimes. I was asked if I would like a therapy dog. Wow! It was like they held my hand putting their paw next to me. I instantly remained at ease. I wish our old dentist in florida had that for the kids. Did I mention I am 6.5 months pregnant and really not excited about a root canal fix? Anyway, Dr. Bakos and her awesome staff really catered to my issues (sinus problems and pregnant so I can't be fully reclined) and made me feel at ease. It was the best tooth related experience I have had in a long time. I have a 2nd appointment next week and I'm not even nervous to go.
