So far (2 months in) my daughter seems to love her time here and her teachers seem to be fond of her which makes me happy. They've been excellent at communication with me. I love the picture updates on the app throughout the day. She did stay sick off and on for a few weeks but I attribute that to her staying home for her first few years and being sheltered more due to Covid. As far as no touring during operating hours, if they allowed that it would make me feel incredibly uneasy. I don't want random people having access to my child during the day. This is a safety issue and I'm glad the center has their policy in place. read more

As a mother of five children this center has been one of the worse. Not to mention the broken glass in the parking lot, the beer cans, and the location of a vape store right next door. My daughter did not attend very long. The only reason the center is open in my opinion is due to the limited availability of childcare. My daughter did not even attend for a full month. First I come to get her several days and she is barefoot inside of the center and her feet were covered in filth. The teachers have this app that they use but it does not appear that they actually use it as it should be use. They are completely unorganized and do not really consider the needs or desires of the parents. If you want a center that is barbaric and will not teach proper cleanliness or social skills I would say this is the place for you. It does not seem like that big of a deal to some, but I rather my child know how to properly utilize toys and materials and hope that she would be raised to higher standards. Rather than addressing matters related to cleanliness and safety they write it off and say "oh this is just how children are at this age." I walked in to drop my daughter off on day one and there was a four month old child crawling around on the tile flooring, additionally all of the teachers had their shoes on in the infant room. The amount of safety hazards and the way that it looks like there is always an explosion of disaster and mess on a regular basis. Not to mention the smell of my daughter every time she comes home. The fact that they mark that your child is completing activities that they do not, or mark related to food consumption that is not accurate. It is just a complete disaster. It is complete chaos every time I walk in. If you so much try to approach them related to what is going on. Do not expect them to learn or try and increase their standards. Additional example, one of the children was chewing on a cardboard book and the teacher stated, oh that is normal behavior. Not even acknowledging that this is a choking hazard and a health and safety hazard. I challenge you to tour the center during the day. The first red flag is they schedule tours outside of regular business hours. When I went to pick up my daughter at the end of the day a four month old child literally crawled right out the door. I guess it depends on your standards as a parent and how much BS you are willing to deal with. It was not hard for me to walk away from the center. I hope the area has emerging business that comes in and does proper management and training to run a center that is healthy for our children in the community. I have experienced severe anxiety every single day not knowing if they were physical with my daughter or what actually was going on in the classrooms when I drop her off. As a parent you are not able to enter the center - they state due to COVID concerns however, after accessing other centers this is not the case across the board. I do not like that I cannot walk my daughter in and see the condition of the center on a daily basis. Glad that I made the decision to tell them to politely F off which is probably what I should have done on week one. I feel this is the best decision. I toured Goddard in Fredericksburg and to my surprise the center is ran nothing like the center - Jupiter. The level of cleanliness and order far surpasses what I experienced. I am glad that my beautiful daughter is safe at home. I am glad that I made the decision to choose safety over desperation. The center also allows you to tour during sessions. They do not appear to have anything to hide. It is sad that the owner who I briefly approached related to allowing late entry was rather rude and lack the ability to be flexible. It really is just frustrating for me in general especially when you already have a lot going on. I really hate that I allowed myself or my daughter to be in this environment and lowered our standards in such a way. I really should have never allowed this to happen. I hope you do not fall into the pressures of your employer and place the safety and wellbeing of your children first. The center needs a rude awakening in order to actually provide a service that is worth my time or money. I spoke to the woman who is responsible for reviewing the cameras - the Director. I would not trust her with my child's safety or well-being at all. This was the final breaking point for me. I should be able to drop my daughter off and feel confident that she is in good hands. They really need new management entirely and should develop their staff on safety and how to increase the well being and knowledge of children in their center. I do not trust the center as a hand off. They are one injury away from a huge lawsuit. I am not taking chances with my daughter. Low class childcare and low class staff. read more

Worst daycare my kids have attended. There's no routine or structure. The facility is dirty and run poorly by the director, Samantha. The kids aren't paid attention to at all; there's no supervision or care here. I had two children attending, one who was much more vocal about what was happening, and he would routinely tell me about how rude Ms. Samantha was, that she always had an "attitude," and that he was too scared to talk to his teachers. My other child wasn't as vocal, but there was a frightening shift in their demeanor as they would fight and kick every time they realized they were coming to the center; that's when I realized there were real issues here. Removing my kids from the daycare was a relief. Afterwards, my eldest told me that Ms. Samantha has brought her son to the center and YELLED and berated him in front of other kids. He also told me that there was a dead mouse in the bathroom. This was a disgusting and sickening experience, and I hate that as a parent, I trusted these people with my children. read more

If you read Angelica R's review on 9/26/22 PLEASE READ MINE. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but there is also truth and reality. Unlike Angelica R, I have had multiple children (from infant room to Pre-K) in the program since February 2021, so I hope that my long-term experience may be more helpful than someone who didn't spend a month there. My children were on site during her one month, and I did not experience what she did. Policies are in place for a reason, can't make exceptions. Let me start with: We intend to keep our children at Jupiter Learning Academy until they age out, and we intend to continue to support JLA and recommend them to our families and friends who need childcare. This is not our last resort, and I would never call any of the teachers low class or say they provide low class childcare as previously reviewed. I don't think any one childcare location or school is PERFECT. People are human, and humans aren't perfect. Sometimes not every request can be met and sometimes communication styles don't flow together. No one loves your child more than you should love your child and it should be hard for anyone to live up to your own standards and expectations of what you would provide if you didn't have to find childcare; but I know the staff at JLA do love my children, they care about their well being, they provide updates if they ever seem "off," they check in on them if they miss a day. My children learn, sing and dance; they have books and toys; I can see what they've learned. They have projects in class, and get artwork sent home. My children gladly go with open arms to any and all of the teachers who greet them in the mornings. JLA is scheduled and routine (which is transparent and posted in the front lobby), which I love. Also posted in the lobby is the monthly calendar of what the themes and "lesson plans" are for each week. It's fun to watch them develop! If you want 1-on-1 care 100% of the time, you shouldn't bring your child here because it's not possible. I can't even provide that myself since I have more than one child. The biggest safety protocol JLA has in place is exactly what Angelica R doesn't like about not having access to the center. I don't know her, she doesn't need to know my children without my permission, just as much as I should not have any access to her children whenever I want. I don't like people coming in and out at any point during the day and disrupting the schedules and routines. I appreciate and understand the lack of free access and the safety measures in place. If you're considering Jupiter, ask about their trial hours at your tour! Tours are after hours, but your child can still be immersed before you lock in! It's not totally impersonal. You CAN easily get to know other children and families in the lobby. But unless you've established a personal relationship with the other families, there's no reason for us to know the names/ages of all the children in the center on their terms. PS. to the parents of the "four month old child [who] literally crawled right out the door:" God-speed to you for having to be prepared with a mobile baby so early! Wow! There are always challenges and adjustments needed for new routines, teachers and children. Not every day is a great day as far as no messes; may have lingering markers or paint on their hands or some snack stickiness still on their cheeks. Kids take off their shoes, kids throw food on the floor; it can't be 100% clean 100% of the time. However, at pick-up, if one of mine has something on their face, staff will grab a wipe or tissue and check them before letting them come over to me. I've even handed one back for a diaper change that happened while checking out! Having camera access to my children at all times was not a request during my childcare pursuit, so I can't speak on this. However, if I felt I needed that feature, I just wouldn't have chosen a center who doesn't provide this. Jupiter DOES, however, provide peeks of my children's days through the app that includes pictures of them and notes and messages from the staff. I haven't had a problem with that communication. I love getting pictures throughout the day, but of course, some days have more action than others. Yes, there is a vape store next door. I have never once felt concerned about the business and I'm not even sure how much business they do. They might not be there forever. What I do love about it: the owner has a cat and my children love to walk to the window at drop-off and pick-up to say hi to the cat from outside. I've also never noticed broken glass and beer cans. It's a parking lot, so sometimes there is litter, but there are about 4 other businesses in the strip so I wouldn't consider Jupiter responsible for the entire parking lot. My child has been in the process of potty training, and I would send changes of clothes pull ups and diapers. One day I got a call saying he soiled through all 3 of his outfits and I needed to come get him, (I work 45 min from the center) once getting there my child was still in soiled clothing smelled so bad of urine, and has rashes all over his bottom. I put in a report and 2 days later the center director gave me a call to let me know that since I couldnt come to them my child has been terminated and needed to be picked up as soon as possible. ( I will say we loved Ms dorthy and Angela and those two will be greatly missed by our son as he still cries asking for each of them everyday) but when it comes to your childs health dont send them here, youll be left stranded without childcare, they have had multiple violations found for child to staff ratio and none of it has been fixed. The complaint we filed to they were also found in violation and we were the ones who got terminated for it. AND to top it off, after we were terminated an email went out about our Child to every other parent to see. read more
