When I was finally ready to commit to having color-treated hair, I didn't hesitate in reaching out to Junryl! I have seen his amazing work on his page and have had the pleasure on getting to know him on a personal level. Junryl was very honest with me from the beginning, letting me know it was going to take some time to get to my desired color but always reassured he was going to do what it takes to get me there. Every session I've had, he's delivered and exceeded my expectations. Throughout the whole process, he would let me know what he was doing and how it was going to turn out depending on my hair. And that's what I really love and appreciate about Junryl's work--he takes the time to appreciate the canvas he's working with and carefully chooses his formula to get the most out of it without damaging your hair. Each session, we've gone lighter & lighter and honestly my hair is just as healthy, if not even more (thanks to his awesome haircut as well), as when I had natural hair. Our sessions go by so fast because we get lost in our conversations and it's just an overall great experience. If you're looking for a professional hairstylist to make your hair dreams come true, Junryl is the one!!! read more

I was looking for a hair colorist knowledgeable about dying hair blonde and, since my hair is naturally a dark brown, I really wanted to work with someone who wouldn't fry my hair! Junryl was awesome and the right person for the job. this was my first time working with him and he was very professional, communicated promptly, and was a great person to "hang out" with for 9 hours! The blonde treatment, haircut, and styling of my hair all-in-all was about 9 hours and it was well worth it! Prior to COVID, I had several balayages done- slowly lightening with every visit- but once March hit salon services stopped and my hair color needed some love. my hair still feels great and color looks amazing. Very happy with my blonde treatment- will definitely book again for a touch up. read more

I've had the pleasure working with Junryl on a personal, professional, and client level. He has the ability to think outside the box for those wanting a creative and unique look, but also knows how to deliver natural soft styles as well. I had asked for sun kissed hair and he gave me just that! He is a man of many talents, once my hair was complete we finished with a photoshoot and he managed to make me feel and look like a rockstar and took amazing shots that make me feel beautiful!! Junryl is super accommodating and provides a unique experience for each client. I had never done anything with my hair color-wise before, and he was super careful and meticulous when treating my hair, taking the extra lengths to maintain its health. He made the process super easy and comfortable, and the outcome was exactly what I wanted and more. I had told him what I wanted beforehand (just a beige/platinum blonde top and darker sides), but he went beyond and spruced up my idea even further with shadow roots and blending different colors, and even accounting for how it will look when it eventually grows out and fades after time. 10/10 would recommend for all your hair color needs. read more

I met Junryl after moving to SF from NYC. I was looking for a new colorist and found him via Instagram. I can tell you that his Instagram is absolutely reflective of his work. I've gotten my hair colored by dozens of stylists before and I usually end up disappointed. Junryl is amazing at what he does. I have thick jet black hair naturally, so it's not easy to lighten my hair. Junryl has transformed my dark hair into a beautiful blonde balayage that blends so perfectly that it looks natural. No harsh lines and color always grows out very nice. He definitely knows what he's doing and is very patient. I would absolutely recommend him to all my friends (and have!). He's also a pleasure to be around - which makes the 7 hours it takes go by so quick! read more

Junryl is THE BEST!! I've been going to him for nearly two years for highlights. I had gone to several stylists before him, and the results were always inconsistent. Junryl consistently does an amazing job. The color looks so natural, and even when my hair grows out, it somehow still looks amazing. The moment I sat in his chair, I totally trusted him -- I saw someone else said this but he is a master of getting the color just right. I have gotten tons of compliments on my hair, to the point that I have friends on the other side of the country who have told me they want to fly to California just for an appointment with Junryl. If you're looking for an amazing professional hair stylist, you must see Junryl. He is a true artist!!! read more

Junryl used to do my hair back in San Francisco and helped transition me from a gingery brunette to a beautiful golden blonde. Since then, he's taken me to every shade and style of blonde you can imagine - ashy highlights, rooty lived-in creamy blonde, and finally to an all-over bleach and tone platinum blonde.
