My sister and I spent an entire weekend cleaning out my elderly parents' garage, and quickly realized there was more junk than we could haul away on my own. We didn't have the vehicles for the job and we were exhausted - mentally and physically! There was so much junk it was overwhelming. I needed to get it out of the garage as soon as possible to prevent my mom from riffling through the junk and trying to save it. Out of desperation I Googled "junk hauling" and called several places. No one was able to help me on the same day, much less on a Sunday. I was desperate at this point because it was getting later in the day. I saw the ad for JunkMates and called, keeping my fingers crossed they would be able to help. Clark answered and was super friendly and empathetic. After listening to our plight, he told me he had a crew making their way back to Escondido and he thought they'd be able to fit the pile of junk in my parents' garage in their truck. He made a call, set it up and sent me a text to let me know the guys were on their way. Hallelujah!!! Skyler and Jake showed up 30 minutes later, tossed all the junk in the back of the truck and were gone in 20 minutes. Amazing! Dealing with elderly parents can be challenging (they don't want to get rid of anything!) and it's such a delicate line between respecting their wish to hold on to old memorabilia and things they no longer use or need and helping them keep their home organized and clutter-free. Skyler and Jake were both so understanding and empathized with the situation. We appreciated their professionalism and were amazed by how swiftly they worked and got it all cleared out. The total turn around time from when I called and spoke to Clark to when Skyler and Jake left was under 2 hours!! On a Sunday!!! Considering the amount of junk and our request to have it hauled away on the same day (a Sunday!), the hauling fee was fair and reasonable. I recommend JunkMates and will use them again for future hauling needs. It's also important to mention there were e-waste items that we needed to have disposed, and they took those as well. Skyler mentioned they can help with e-waste, recycling, paint disposal...pretty much anything. Called these two incredible young men and they made time for me the same day. I have lots of construction going on at my place and it was a mess. There was a heavy stove and lots of lumber in my kitchen. My contractor was not able to remove it until next week. I couldn't stand it so I called Clark and he arrived with his partner Schuyler around 4:00 late afternoon. They had everything out in less than 30 minutes. I was amazed!!!
