A full bag is usually a couple bucks worth of stuff. This is the closest one to the downtown and is probably more useful for SMU students than carless Dal students. The other option is to sort your recycling so the bums can just take the whole bag and then there's no curbside mess to deal with. If you choose to sort and store, be sure to rinse well and keep the bag tight or you can expect a fruit fly explosion.

Now, to make things clear, I was to take them to a place that would pay for the returns. Those were my orders. I thought this place did. It does not , you can take all your recyclables here and drop them off, but that is it. There were a couple ladies emptying out the back of their truck, I asked if they pay here, she said no. Fortunately for me, one of the workers ask me if I knew where to take them, I said no. He was nice enough to point me to a place that was just up the street from them. We could actually see it from there. He told me to take everything there. The ladies did not even know it was there. So, I thanked him and off I went to the third attempt to get rid of this stuff. As one time I was there and one of mu glass bottles were no good and he just tossed it in the trash. I asked why and he just said "no good", (guy was forign so his english wasn't very good) but non the less I was a little irratated, but I carried on and accepted my return and carried on. The hours are great, and not open on Sunday, but that's fine. But as for speed, they are in between slow and steady, they move at the "Dockyard Shuffle" pace which is irratating, but what can you do. As for them helping you carry the heavy stuff out of the car. Its almost hard, you are standing there like a fool and just waiting.

Not a good place to take your recyclables. They are a registered depot with Nova Scotia, and have…read moreon more than one occasion refused to take recyclables from us. The first time I called and asked about returning paper and cardboard (which at that time they had it in their list of things they recycle), but they refused, because (and I quote) "they can't make any money off of paper"... Really? Then why did you register to recycle paper in the first place? Next, we recently tried to have a few truck loads of bottles dropped off for recycling, and were refused because they said there was too much garbage in the bags. To explain, the bags come from the Michelin plant directly from their recycling bins. Sometimes people will toss the wrong items in the bins.... however we weren't asking them to take the trash.. just the recyclables. They also said there were too many caps on the bottles... once again they didn't have to take the caps. And the kicker is they suggested we take them to Valley waste (where you don't get a refund).... but we need the refund as Michelin is donating the money to a worthy cause. Once again, if you register to be a recycling depot, you are obligated to take the recyclables, end of story.
