Edgar also worked with me on the price by being more flexible with scheduling time the next day instead of same day. Had a bed to get rid of that they did the disassembly of haul away. He honored the price and was even more help by helping us move a bulky piece of furniture that we were not disposing from one room to another. Really helpful and nice people. I received quotes from several vendors and Clean Junk Out was by far the most reasonable for having a 12' truck. These guys are partnered with Clean Junk Out. The person with CJO who quoted me was Shunt. We exchanged messages via Yell and I ultimately stuck with him, even after I asked Got Junk if they would price-match. Got Junk said they would, but when I asked for it in writing, they declined and said I could have "their word." Super lame. Got Junk may market themselves well, but they didn't care to give me any confidence that they would keep their promise. How can you trust someone's word via phone? This is business. Once I decided to book CJO, I texted Shunt all the information and we were set. I was a little concerned because we agreed on a 10am-11am time slot and hadn't heard anything from him the day of and it was 10:40am. He assured me they would arrive by 11am. They arrived at 11:05am, but I didn't care bc I was worried they wouldn't show at all! Edgar and the other gentleman (can't recall his name) got to work right away and managed to fill their truck in just under an hour. Our largest items were two bug tube tvs (recycling fee is $25, but other vendors do not charge this), a couple computer monitors and a couch. We packed the majority of things already in trash bags and even helped them load their truck. The truck was topless, but once full with large items, they threw stuff on top filling it as much as possible. I don't understand all these 5 star reviews. We contacted Junk Heroes to get some trash hauled and it was a bad experience from start to finish. They originally said they'd come out on a Saturday after 5. By 7:30pm, we still hadn't heard from them. When they finally contacted us, they asked if they could come from 9-11am on Sunday, a time at which we are unavailable. Finally we worked it out for them to come between 1pm and 4pm. They didn't give any advance notice -- they just showed up at 1:10. They also didn't provide us with any quotes or estimates ahead of time. When they arrived, they quoted me $365 and said they couldn't go any lower. Between the unreliability and the refusal to provide a quote, I decided to go with a different service. read more

I needed to get rid of my old mattress, box spring, and traditional metal frame. (This is the downside of buying a bed in a box - no haul away.) Yeah, I could have called a charitable organization and waited weeks for them to come get it but I live in an apartment and needed it gone ASAP. I emailed 4 different junk removal companies I found here. One sent me totally incomprehensible text messages. The rest emailed me back promptly with various quotes. Junk Heroes followed up with a phone call. Their quote wasn't the lowest but they were willing to not only price match but go lower and their quote including hauling and dumping. Apparently, some companies lure you in with a decent quote but then charge an additional fee for dumping. We scheduled a next day appointment for today (Saturday) and they arrived on the early end of the two hour window they gave me. They were very professional and nice, and were gone in minutes with my backbreaking old bed. Yay! An added bonus is they accept cards and give you both a paper receipt and an electronic one sent either as a text or email. Junk Heroes is great. I had a ton of stuff in my Mom's Garage and I only wanted one truck load for their set price and the guys worked hard to get it all in which was a major feat. FYI They give you a two hour window for arrival and they came a half hour over the window which had me slightly annoyed but they made up for it with their speed and clean up at the end.
