Love the Library! Have taken our kid to the library since before he could walk. There's so many opportunities to take advantage of; classes, books, new DVD's, Culture Passes to visit local places for free, kids activities and more. This library is architecturally very cool, but they don't have a Drive Thru Book Drop; I feel like this could have been an easy addition on the backside, and am disappointed they don't because getting out and dropping books in the heat of the Summer totally blows. The kids classes are really fun and are First Come First Served. Right now is the Summer Reading Program and lots of fun to get your kid reading. There is a lot of parking here, but I highly advise to lock up your vehicle, and keep your valuables out of the car, or out of sight. There are some transients that hang out front, but they're harmless; mostly there for a water bottle in the Summer time. read more

Nearest library for me and glad this exists. Easy search, easy checkout with plenty of counters. Staff is super helpful, they literally help you even for searching things. Books / DVD's well arranged and anyone can get used to it. Many computers and desks for online surf and sit peacefully to read. Printing area available as well. Complete library is neat and well maintained. You will save a lot of $ to lend it instead of buying a new book. Recommended to all. read more

This library for some many reasons is my go-to-phoenix choice, when it comes to choosing where I spend my much-needed library time. Lol Staff is always FRIENDLY, HELPFUL, as well as NON-JUDGMENTAL!!! ^_^ More-so, plenty of computers for PLENTY of people!!! I have only 1 recollection of having to wait for a dumpster to free up so I could use it. (May have been a different scenario for other people.) That in itself is always a plus, considering the area 19th ave and union hills, were a a very high traffic area. The book selection is anything but full, DVD check out selection is exceptional for the most part. The layout has a comfy, spacious vibe & feel. You'll never feel over crowded or like your bubble is being constantly intruded on. I don't spend a lot of time at the library itself since I order books online, they let me know when they're available for pick up, and I drive over and pick them up. Such an easy experience. I have in the past used the computers and the printing station. Also an easy experience, but even if there is a question, the library staff are very helpful. FYI: The hours shown are incorrect. All Maricopa County libraries in this system are now only closed on Sundays and open all other days of the week. Just don't be late cause you will have late fees. It's super easy to make a library card. They also have computers to use. You can print but it does cost a couple of cents per page. read more

Usually this location is great- except for this afternoon. I had made it just in time before them closing and was nearly pushed out before I even stepped in. A security guard told me they were closed, yet the whole staff was standing there staring at me. I had a simple question regarding a book that I had returned over two weeks ago and they seemed to have lost. Yet the whole conversation took 5 minutes of him trying to push me oUt when someone could have been kind enough to just assist me. read more

This is our closest library; we love coming here! They recently moved shelving around and added new signage; what a fantastic new lay out. Everything is easy to see and read. The movie selection is great and there is always a friendly person at the desk to help answer questions. I love to stop at their little book sale section to see what they have;they are constantly adding things and the prices can't be beat. There is a play area in the kids section and plenty of children's books to borrow. I wish it was open daily (it's closed on Fridays). We've also enjoyed many a summer program and family reading time here. Plenty of parking too in front and along the side of the building. read more

Fine library, comfortable enough to get work done. I can't help but notice security kept walking past me as if I were up to something. And one of the employees kept "fixing books" by me. Neither were paying any attention to the area I found to set up my laptop until I arrived. If it weren't so obvious, I wouldn't even be leaving this review. But they guy in the red shirt was just pushing together already pushed together books on the very clean and well-organized shelves behind me and right next to me. I don't know who they think they are but forget about our non-profit donating to this place. Don't judge a book by its cover. It's REAL issues going on in the world. I understand the area may be a bit sketchy but it should have been apparent in my presentation that I just wanted to set up and work. It was best to leave and find a place I could really concentrate as it was obvious that I was not welcome. read more

Very nice library, smaller but very cozy. The staff is super nice and helpful. They will order books for you to pick up from other branches.

This location is small, but will get the job done! Librarians are helpful if you have a question. There are several scanners available for checkout. While book selection is limited, you can get a book from another library by requesting it and having it sent there for pickup. Computers are available. This seems to be a big draw. Most of them are in use all the time. If they are full, you can sign in and you will be assigned a computer and given what time it will be available. On the downside, there is a one hour limit. It will be extended if no one has requested their use. On the plus side, they have a copier hooked in to the computer system. For a small fee, you can print pdf files or any documents from online. read more

My go-to library these days. Blink and you miss it if you're driving by though. Friendly employees and a great little section for kids to play in. We recently discovered that the computers have toddler friendly touch-and-learn games that I can sit with him to use. Everything is clean and kept up. I reserve a ton of books and DVDs and CDs and it's simple to pick up and check out. Once I went in and asked one of the employee dudes, Vincent, for Thanksgiving related kids books and he went out of his way to find all sorts for us when they weren't in their correct spots thanks to kids moving stuff around. I love this library, I found out about $80.00 in fines later that in April you can donate canned food and they trade away your fines! I've been saving food now so by April I will have a bunch but hopefully not big fines again! Update....I had paid off some fines but this April when I went to get my botanical garden pass...i dropped off 20 food items and got my last 10 dollars of fines removed! Woo Hoo read more

I had a moment of clarity where I realized I sat around watching TV far too often and was losing too many brain cells; therefore I decided to try and find a library and start reading to become a smart kid again! The Juniper Branch was the closest one too me and I was surprised to find that I actually drive past it a few times a week but it's kind of hidden from the road. I had signed up for a library card online but needed to go in to actually pick it up. The lady at the desk was friendly and helpful, the library itself is clean and pretty easy to figure out. They have quite a few computers available for use and I didn't have any trouble getting onto one right away with the system they use to reserve them. I really like that you have the option to search for books and then put a hold request in for them on the library's website. I've used it for several books so far and they come in pretty quickly. It's very convenient when they are available at this branch as well because they have a huge shelf that they put all the holds onto so you don't have to wait in line for someone at the front desk to help you, you just grab them, go through the self checkout stations they have and you're on your way! read more

This place is actually really awesome. Thy have plenty of computers to use, easy check out (with emailed receipts available!) and a decent selection of movies too. I like this location because it's not swarming with obnoxious kids playing computer games when you come during "after school hours. Also, the librarians don't seem irritated with you when you approach them with questions. The only 2 things I will say... 1. I would say is they have a more-limited supply of book/movies in comparison to other libraries in the area. 2. Also, a lot of things I was looking for they had at the location...but we're marked as "being processed" so many things are neon returned but not promptly put back out on the floor, which is a tad bit frustrating. Still going to make this my "home" location for a library, just going to make sure I e-hold things before I come back and visit! read more

It's located next to KFC on union hills, very close to the bus stop. I have driven by several times not knowing there is a library there since it's tucked away by trees. It's a one floor library, not very big but the collection is quite decent even though I have only occasionally checked out movies. The entrance has the self check-out kiosks, the computer section and a few tables situated in the middle of the library. I find the whole area in the middle close to the entrance very distracting, too much traffic flow. The kids section is on the far right end which looks like a safe and spacious area for kids to play. On the other far end of the library is the laptop section which is quiet and good for studying. It faces large windows so plenty natural light. The only drawback is the outlets which are located deep underneath the tables and hard to reach, should have made those more accessible. Haven't had issues with parking even though it seems tiny. The security guard wanders around the library so you can feel a little bit safer about leaving your laptop while going to the bathroom which are kept clean. read more

I tend to log in online, order a book and pick it here. Its fast and efficient. The self-checkout machines are a breeze to use, and the hold shelf is well-organized. Good selection of DVDs and CDs. More can be delivered, just place a hold and have them shipped here. Excellent way to catch up on TV series' that you missed out on. One problem is the fiction section seems to pack in a lot of books by "big" authors. If you like reading what everyone else reads, you'll be well served. If you like searching out new or lesser-known authors - they have them, but often they'll have books 3 and 4 of a series - so you'll have to order 1 and 2 from another library first. The culture passes go quickly - so line up early if you want one! read more

Tried this library again and this time there were two people there - it appeared that they met here so that he could fix her computer - they were talking incessantly about the virtues of windows 10 versus windows 7. I wouldn't have cared except that they were talking in regular voices instead of whispering - doesn't ANYONE understand what libraries are for anymore?!?!?! And its so not cool that the library employees not only do nothing to rectify the situation but they are participating in the conversation!!! read more

I absolutely love this library. Staff is very helpful. Computers are aviable good DVD collection has upto date books to check out. I love this little library. Parking isn't an issue ever. Wish they were open Fridays though. If you need to fax scan or send emails make copies they have instructions manuals with pictures, even in the childrens section for projects. Makes me miss my little Pico Rivera library very much. read more

This library is kind of small compared to the other libraries I've been to here in Arizona. It is kind of in a ghetto shopping plaza. I was disappointed that the book I wanted was checked out. I suppose it happens. I will come back here another time and maybe see if my opinions/thoughts change on the second visit. read more

We went there the other day and had a great experience! There was a blonde lady with short hair who was in charge and she was so nice! We happened to be there on a day when Wildlife Phil was putting on a show. The show was amazing, as he had live spiders, snakes, and turtles for the children to learn about. This was our first time there. There were a couple books they didn't have, but you can always ask them to place it on hold or get it from another library. So happy kids are still going to libraries! read more

Great place to find great books. This place is friendly and has a really good safe location.

This is a great neighborhood library, but compared to the other locations, this one is small and lacking in some departments. The amount of computers at this location is about half of others, but the Children's Books are a lot bigger than others. Its tucked away, in between businesses and homes, which can make it tricky to get into with heavy traffic and then exiting, it makes you cut right up to the front door, which confuses many drivers stopping in at Walgreens, so be careful when leaving. The computers are free to use, but the printing is 20 cents per page. My recommendation is to use one of the general computers, not the Workforce Computer, because you can continue using it endlessly if there is no line, compared to the 2 hour maximum of the Workforce spot. Also, you can only use the computer once per day, so don't expect to leave and come back later on. If you are here to read books, you've chosen a great location, as there are plenty of tables, chairs and hangout areas that are usually open. read more

I usually don't let one bad experience motivate me to write a review. I've also worked in the hospitality industry for 20+ years so I am EXTREMELY forgiving and empathetic in situations most people would fail to pay attention to. This being said, I arrived at 7:25pm on Thursday ( I know they are closed Fridays and I knew the time because the Security guy obnoxiously yelled upcoming closing info.) with the mindset of NOT being there that late and not getting distracted by using a computer. Again, at 7:45 another BOOMING reminder they close at 8:00. At 7:55 I was at a check out computer scanning a bunch of DVDS and so many big hard back books I was using a basket they provide for our convenience. At approx 7:58 I ask if I can borrow basket to run my items to my car, because it is now STORMING HARD, for 30 seconds promising to bring right back. NO hesitation from the pair behind front desk, "no, we can't let you tonight"). Im sorry, What!??!!?? I didn't even question it because (*see 2nd sentence) I was parked in the first available non-handicap spot. I grab DVDs and hustle/jog to my car, put them in passager front (Im being so specific to show time-frame), get in drivers seat and pull up to front curb. As Im getting out a man is carrying my books out to me. Cool! How nice! I open rear driver door, accept and thank for the books, turn and load, and realize my phone was still in there! I had keys and library card, but didn't grab my phone so as leaving kind of a 'marker' that I was coming back like smokers do in bars. I arrived at the locked door about 3 seconds behind said man and knocked to pop back in for phone. NOPE! They WOULDN'T OPEN THE DOOR! Yelling at me through the glass they said it wasn't there. No amount of begging got me even a consideration. I second guessed myself and RAN to check my car. No phone. RAN back to door and now lights are off and no one is acknowledging my frantic knocks. Panic sets in. Did I bring it? Yep, I looked up how to spell veterinary at 7:45 because I was startled by closing announcement and mistyped. Sooo, I waited for staff to exit to plead for my WEEK OLD PHONE back. Not only were the Security Man and female employee shockingly uncompromising, they were so condescending I dropped a "are you f**king kidding me??!!" and I'm a firm believer in honey, not vinaegar and respecting my elders (sorry Mama) but they both clearly thought I didn't deserve an ounce of humility or kindness. I came back that night with my husband to search the only other places it could be, and am pretty sure could see phone, that was on SILENT, not vibrate, lighting up somewhere in the darkness. Fingers crossed but I still searched and searched car, home, EVERYWHERE! Well GUESS WHAT?! I was there Saturday morning as they opened and the women working acknowledged me and my asking for my phone and when I described it she ( I must be crazy) recognized a few descriptive words and appeared to be familiar with it, but came back with a big fat no. I really don't want to think that, instead of taking responsibility for this nonsense my phone would be discarded, but that's how I see it. I would like to see the cameras but I'm sure I already know the answer to that request. I would LOVE to speak to someone about this other than that Branch's staff. I am on Facebook. read more

This is not a huge library, but they a nice selection of books, movies, and periodicals there. The child selection is pretty big and they have computers in the area dedicated for child use only. I like how you have to reserve the child computers; if not I do not think some of the kids would ever get off. There are some that just hover over the other kids that are trying to use them. Friday's the library is closed, but they are open on Sunday's. Make sure if you drop off your kids at this library, you are there before it closes. They are not allowed to wait outside the library after it closes, a parent has to be there to get them. I think this is a pretty good rule they have there to keep kids safe. I overheard one of the librarians tell a kid if his parents were not there before it closes they would have to contact the police. Keep your kids safe. They have different passes for some museums around the Phoenix area. I cannot remember how many you can get per month. read more

I went here for the kids storytime. My biggest complaint would be how DIRTY the kids play area was. I don't expect the toys to be cleaned daily by any means, and I definitely don't expect it to be spotless, but the puzzles and blocks looked like they hadn't been cleaned in months. My husband and I went to this KFC Sunday and had half our order when we got home. I told my husband that I didn't want to go back to complain. My husband who has recently had a stroke decided to go today and complain to the Manager. When he got there he was trying to explain to the Manager what happened. My husband said the Manager was so rude and told him he did not have all day to listen to his complaints. My husband said a nice lady customer was trying to help him explain to the Manager what the complaint was about ( the lady said her mother had a stroke and it's hard) . The lady was trying to translate what my husband was saying and the Manager cut both of them short by saying with folded Arms... "I don't have all day to try to figure out what he is trying to tell me" in a rude tone. This was upsetting to me when I heard this. Just as FYI my husband was a Manger at this very store years ago and he gave excellent customer service. Needles to say, I am calling cooperate and never going back to this location ever again. This is so sad where customer service has hit rock bottom. read more
