It was a very disappointing and sobering experience, nearly being ripped off by a sleazy used car dealer. I've included a copy of the inspection report as well. However, when it comes to having your oil changed and tire rotation they fail. On three different time I requested for them to rotate my tires. The first time I was not certain that they rotated and excepted it, however the second time I marked my tires to see if they did the rotation. Went to get my truck and seen that they didn't do the rotation. When I called them out on it. The store manager went out to speak with the service manager as to why it was not done. He stated that he checked the tires and they looked good and no need for rotation. I told the store manager it was not there place to make that choice. They said they were sorry and would get my truck in as soon as possible. I then had to wait an hour to finally get what I requested. On 5/4/26 this morning I gave the Quakertown store another chance. This time I waited for my truck. I observed they changed the oil and filter, but however again did not rotate my tires. I got the store manager. He said he was up from the Montgomery store location and would find out why the service tech didn't do the rotation. Thes service tech stated he checked the tires and he felt they didn't need to be rotated. The visiting store manager had the tech do the rotation. I have to give the manager in charge credit he refused to charge me for the oil change and was very sorry that I was treated the way I was. I will never take any my vehicle to any Mavis tire. Well, If you would have told me that I would have been writing this rave review six (6) months ago,…read moreI would have come back with one bad experience after another with Pep Boys. After 15 years of good service, I felt as though some of the repairs I was led to believe were absolutely necessary like a new alternator were snap decisions poorly made and presented to me utilizing fear and ignorance: I was having a battery dropped into the car ,was told it was done and after I got dropped off so that I could race to Lansdale and My Mother in the Hospital, I saw the battery in my van, right where I had left it BECAUSE although I was told that my alternator was only charging at 12.6 instead of 14.3 on the phone by an assistant manager, the rationale for the mechanic not putting it in was that the new battery could die while I was driving from the bad alternator and void the warranty on my new die hard battery.. I decided to take my chances and had them put it in anyway!. When I got to Lansdale ,with my heart in my throat, I took my van to my parents mechanic who told me that the Alternator Belt was bad not the alternator! I was furious but there was no one person with the authority to stand behind me, the customer. This is one of several encounters that I had with Pep Boys. Many involving compromising my safety. I did have a good experience with Tim and Travis in service.Tim tried to fix the noise and was able to get me a refund for monies I was told were necessary 'to fix the noise'., but were apparently maintenance items that did need attention in the future ,however, I had already become skeptical about what I was being told and reality. I took my car to another mechanic for a bad noise, very similar to the one that frustrated Tim, and the list that I was given for necessary repairs in order to pass inspection, was almost identical to the list of repairs that had been done at Pep Boys within the last 6 to 7 months. My mechanic told me to take his list and my car back to PEP Boys! I was livid! I called and left a message for a manager. The gentleman who I was put in touch with, Brandon Fels , the new service manager asked me to bring my car over and I was happy to oblige! He jumped in my car and brought a mechanic with us that ended up being the mechanic assigned to remedy the problems, start to finish. . It had been discovered previously that due to my husband leaving our house phone number and my leaving my cell phone number, there were two separate records for my vehicle and a 3rd record with a car I had previously owned. I am not easily appeased when I know that I am correct and feel as though I am being taken advantage of AND paying good money along the way! Brandon Fels was determined to turn me into a satisfied customer and went above and beyond to do so! The work I had had done was redone and after realizing that I had bought multiple tires but it was on two separate accounts, also realized that I had not benefitted from warranties that should have been available to me over the last couple years, he took care of that as well. Brandon Fels is a man of integrity , who is not afraid to hold his mechanics to a standard of excellence in customer care that he himself ascribes to. He must be getting terrific support in the administration above him, as he averted a legal suit , as well as, a Pendot complaint by working with me until the problems were resolved. Brandon is also not afraid of real feedback and willing to enter into discussion about staff development and "Integrity' in our workforce. As a former staff development consultant/coordinator, I felt satisfied that my experiences with PEP Boys will provide opportunities for learning in the very near future . Thank you, Brandon Fels, Service Manager of Pep Boys. Maureen T. Bender Quakertown,Pa.

In PA from out of State for a visit to assist my elderly mother, I was driving her car in…read moreTrumbauersville and heard a repeating sound, in the rear of the car, that corresponded to the speed I was driving. Something was likely wrong with a rear wheel. It concerned me enough to stop at the first service garage I encountered, Bruce's Garage. The Owner, Bruce, was servicing a car on a lift, yet he interrupted this to immediately address my problem. A quick ride with me revealed the sound to him and he put the car on an empty lift to inspect the rear wheels. Four of the five lug nuts on one wheel were loose and showing signs of wear. He promptly sent his assistant to buy new replacement lug nuts and then installed them, correcting the problem. He also noticed a dent in the front bumper and bumped that out while it was on the lift. I was on my way again about an hour after I stopped at Bruce's garage, with the car running quiet (and safe) again along with the repaired dent. The bill was very reasonable for the work he performed. Such service for an out-of-State, walk-in stranger, and such consideration for my elderly Mom's car! Very nice, kind people who handled the situation promptly and courteously in such a friendly manner. I recommend this business to anyone in the area needing car service.
